< 1 Samuel 31 >

1 And [the] Philistines [were] fighting against Israel and they fled [the] men of Israel from before [the] Philistines and they fell slain on [the] mountain of Gilboa.
Na rĩrĩ, Afilisti makĩhũũrana na Isiraeli; nao andũ a Isiraeli makĩmoorĩra, na aingĩ ao makĩũragĩrwo kũu Kĩrĩma-inĩ kĩa Giliboa.
2 And they pursued closely [the] Philistines Saul and sons his and they struck down [the] Philistines Jonathan and Abinadab and Malki-Shua [the] sons of Saul.
Afilisti makĩhatĩrĩria Saũlũ na ariũ ake mũno, na makĩũraga ariũ acio ake, Jonathani, na Abinadabu, na Malikishua.
3 And it was heavy the battle against Saul and they found him the archers men with the bow and he was in severe pain exceedingly from the archers.
Na rĩrĩ, mbaara nĩyaneneheire Saũlũ mũno mũno, na rĩrĩa aikia a mĩguĩ maamũkinyĩrire, makĩmũguraria mũno.
4 And he said Saul to [the] bearer of armor his draw out sword your - and pierce through me with it lest they should come the uncircumcised [men] these and they will pierce through me and they will deal wantonly with me and not he was willing [the] bearer of armor his for he was afraid exceedingly and he took Saul the sword and he fell on it.
Nake Saũlũ akĩĩra mũkuui wake wa indo cia mbaara atĩrĩ, “Comora rũhiũ rwaku rwa njora ũũthece naruo, nĩguo andũ aya mataruaga matigooke maatheece na maanyararithie.” No rĩrĩ, mũkuui ũcio wake wa indo cia mbaara agĩĩtigĩra mũno, akĩrega gwĩka ũguo; nĩ ũndũ ũcio Saũlũ akĩoya rũhiũ rwake rwa njora, akĩrũgwĩra.
5 And he saw [the] bearer of armor his that he had died Saul and he fell also he on sword his and he died with him.
Rĩrĩa mũkuui wake wa indo cia mbaara onire atĩ Saũlũ nĩakua-rĩ, o nake akĩgwĩra rũhiũ rwake rwa njora, agĩkua.
6 And he died Saul and [the] three sons his and [the] bearer of armor his also all men his on the day that together.
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Saũlũ, na ariũ ake atatũ, na mukuui wake wa indo cia mbaara, na andũ ake othe magĩkua hamwe mũthenya o ro ũcio.
7 And they saw [the] men of Israel who [were] on [the] other side of the valley and who - [were] on [the] other side of the Jordan that they had fled [the] men of Israel and that they had died Saul and sons his and they abandoned the cities and they fled and they came [the] Philistines and they dwelt in them.
Rĩrĩa andũ a Isiraeli arĩa maarĩ mwena ũcio ũngĩ wa kĩanda na arĩa maarĩ mũrĩmo wa Jorodani moonire atĩ mbũtũ ya ita ya Isiraeli nĩyoora, na atĩ Saũlũ na ariũ ake nĩmakuĩte-rĩ, magĩtiganĩria matũũra mao makĩũra. Nao Afilisti magĩthiĩ magĩtũũra kuo.
8 And it was from [the] next day and they came [the] Philistines to strip the [ones] slain and they found Saul and [the] three sons his fallen on [the] mountain of Gilboa.
Mũthenya ũyũ ũngĩ, Afilisti magĩthiĩ kũbora ciimba, magĩkora Saũlũ na ariũ ake atatũ makuĩte kũu Kĩrĩma-inĩ kĩa Giliboa.
9 And they cut off head his and they stripped off armor his and they sent in [the] land of [the] Philistines all around to bear [the] news [the] house of idols their and the people.
Nao makĩmũtinia mũtwe na makĩoya indo ciake cia mbaara, magĩcooka magĩtũma andũ mathiĩ bũrũri wothe wa Afilisti makaanĩrĩre ũhoro ũcio thĩinĩ wa hekarũ ya mĩhianano yao ya kũhooywo, na kũrĩ andũ ao.
10 And they put armor his [the] house of Ashtaroth and corpse his they fixed on [the] wall of Beth Shan.
Makĩiga indo cia Saũlũ cia mbaara thĩinĩ wa hekarũ ya Ashitarothu, na mwĩrĩ wake makĩwoherera rũthingo-inĩ rwa Bethi-Shani.
11 And they heard concerning him [the] inhabitants of Jabesh Gilead [that] which they had done [the] Philistines to Saul.
No rĩrĩa andũ a Jabeshi-Gileadi maaiguire ũrĩa Afilisti meekĩte Saũlũ-rĩ,
12 And they arose every man of strength and they went all the night and they took [the] corpse of Saul and [the] corpses of sons his from [the] wall of Beth Shan and they went Jabesh towards and they burned them there.

13 And they took bones their and they buried [them] under the tamarisk tree at Jabesh and they fasted seven days.
