< 1 Samuel 30 >

1 And it was when came David and men his Ziklag on the day third and [the] Amalekite[s] they had made a raid against [the] Negev and against Ziklag and they had struck Ziklag and they had burned it with fire.
David neh a hlang rhoek loh a thum hnin ah Ziklag a pha uh. Te vaengah Amalek loh tuithim neh Ziklag ah cu uh. Te phoeiah Ziklag te a tloek uh tih hmai neh a hoeh uh.
2 And they had taken captive the women who [were] in it from small and unto great not they had killed anyone and they had driven them away and they had gone to way their.
Te vaengah a khuikah huta rhoek te tanoe kangham la a sol uh. Hlang tah a duek sak muehla a vai uh tih a longpuei ah cet uh.
3 And he came David and men his to the city and there! [it was] burned with fire and wives their and sons their and daughters their they had been taken captive.
Tedae David neh a hlang rhoek te khopuei la ha pawk uh vaengah hmai ah tarha ana hoeh tih a yuu a canu neh a oila te ana sol pa uh.
4 And he lifted up David and the people which [was] with him voice their and they wept until that not [was] in them strength to weep.
Te dongah David neh amah taengkah pilnam loh a ol a huel tih rhap uh. Te vaengah a khuikah thadueng a bawt hil rhap uh.
5 And [the] two [the] wives of David they had been taken captive Ahinoam the Jezreelite [woman] and Abigail [the] wife of Nabal the Carmelite.
David yuu rhoi Jezreel Ahinoam neh Karmel Nabal yuu Abigail khaw a khuen uh.
6 And it was distress to David exceedingly for they said the people to stone him for it was bitter [the] soul of all the people everyone on (sons his *Q(K)*) and on daughters his and he strengthened himself David in Yahweh God his.
Pilnam pum loh amah ca amah ca ham neh a tanu rhoek ham a hinglu te rhip a phaep uh. Te dongah amah te dae ham te pilnam loh a thui coeng dongah David loh puen a cak tangkik. Tedae David tah BOEIPA a Pathen dongah ni a pangtung.
7 And he said David to Abiathar the priest [the] son of Ahimelech bring near! please to me the ephod and he brought near Abiathar the ephod to David.
Te phoeiah David loh Ahimelek capa, khosoih Abiathar taengah, “Hnisui te kai taengla hang khuen dae,” a ti nah tih Abiathar loh hnisui te David taengla a khuen pah.
8 And he enquired David by Yahweh saying will I pursue? after the marauding band this ¿ will I overtake it and he said to him pursue for certainly you will overtake [it] and certainly you will rescue [them].
David loh BOEIPA te a dawt tih, “Caem hnukah he ka hloem koinih ka kae aya?” a ti nah hatah, “Hloem, na kae rhoe na kae vetih na huul rhoe na huul bitni,” a ti nah.
9 And he went David he and six hundred man who [were] with him and they came to [the] wadi of Besor and those [who] were left behind they remained.
Te dongah David neh amah taengkah hlang ya rhuk loh cet uh. Tedae Besor soklong a pha uh vaengah aka coih rhoek loh uelh uh.
10 And he pursued David he and four hundred man and they remained two hundred man who they were [too] exhausted for passing over [the] wadi of Besor.
Te dongah David amah neh hlang ya li loh a hloem uh dae Besor soklong a poeng uh lamkah aka tawn hlang yahnih tah paa uh.
11 And they found a man Egyptian in the open country and they took him to David and they gave to him bread and he ate and they gave to drink him water.
Te vaengah lohma li ah Egypt hlang te a hmuh uh tih David taengla a khuen uh. Te phoeiah anih te buh a paek uh tih a caak phoeiah tui a tul uh.
12 And they gave to him a slice of fig cake and two bunches of raisins and he ate and it returned spirit his to him for not he had eaten food and not he had drunk water three days and three nights.
Te phoeiah anih te thaidae phaklung pakhat neh misur rhae panit a paek uh. Anih te khothaih hnin thum neh khoyin hnin thum buh ca pawt tih tui a ok pawt dongah tekah te a caak daengah ni anih te a hil a sang pueng.
13 And he said to him David [belong] to whom? you and where? from this [are] you and he said [am] a young man Egyptian I a slave of a man Amalekite and he abandoned me master my if I was sick the day three.
Anih te David loh, “Nang ulae? Nang me lamkah lae?” a ti nah vaengah, “Kai tah Amalek hlang kah sal, Egypt ca dae ni, hnin thum ka tloh dongah ka boei loh n'hnoo.
14 We we had made a raid [the] Negev of the Kerethite[s] and on [that] which [belongs] to Judah and on [the] Negev of Caleb and Ziklag we had burned with fire.
Kaimih loh Kerethi tuithim, Judah neh Kaleb tuithim te ka muk uh tih Ziklag te hmai neh ka hoeh uh,” a ti nah.
15 And he said to him David ¿ will you take down me to the marauding band this and he said swear! to me by God if you will kill me and if you will deliver up me in [the] hand of master my and I will take down you to the marauding band this.
Te dongah anih te David loh, “Tekah caem taengla kai nan suntlak puei aya?” a ti nah. Te vaengah, “Kai nan duek sak ham neh ka boeipa kut ah kai nan det pawt ham mah, Pathen taengah kai hamla toemngam lamtah nang te caem taengla kan suntlak puei bitni,” a ti nah.
16 And he took down him and there! [they were] spread out over [the] face of all the land eating and drinking and celebrating in all the plunder great which they had taken from [the] land of [the] Philistines and from [the] land of Judah.
Tedae anih a suntlak vaengah tah Philisti kho lamkah neh Judah kho lamkah kutbuem boeih te muep a loh uh coeng dongah diklai hman boeih ah aka ca, aka o neh aka lam rhoek te khawk ana yaal uh.
17 And he struck down them David from the twilight and until the evening of next day their and not he escaped of them anyone that except four hundred man young man who they rode on the camels and they fled.
Amih te David loh hlaemhmah lamloh a vuen kholaeh duela a ngawn. Te dongah amih lamkah hlang tah loeih pawh. Kalauk dongah aka ngol camoe hlang ya li bueng rhaelrham uh.
18 And he rescued David all that they had taken Amalek and [the] two wives his he rescued David.
Te daengah Amalek kah a loh rhoek te David loh boeih a lat tih a yuu rhoi te khaw David loh a lat.
19 And not it was missing to them from the small and unto the great and unto sons and daughters and from [the] booty and unto all that they had taken for themselves everything he brought back David.
Te vaengah amih te tanoe kangham, capa, canu khaw kutbuem khaw a hmaai moenih. Amih lamkah a loh uh boeih te David loh boeih a mael puei.
20 And he took David all the sheep and the cattle they drove [them] before the livestock that and they said this [is] [the] booty of David.
Te vaengah David loh boiva neh saelhung te boeih a loh tih a hmai la a vai uh. Te vaengah, “Boiva he David kah kutbuem ni he,” a ti uh.
21 And he came David to two hundred the men who they had been [too] exhausted - for going - after David and they had left behind them at [the] wadi of Besor and they went out to meet David and to meet the people which [was] with him and he approached David the people and he asked of them to welfare.

22 And he answered every man evil and worthlessness from the men who they had gone with David and they said because that not they went with me not we will give to them any of the booty which we have recovered that except everyone wife his and children his so they may lead [them] away and they may go.
Tedae David hnuk aka vai hlang rhoek khuikah boethae neh aka muen hlang boeih loh a doo uh vaengah, “Kai taengah aka pongpa pawt tah kutbuem n'lat he amih taengla pae boel saeh. A yuu a ca rhoek te tah rhip hmaithawn uh saeh lamtah cet uh saeh,” a ti uh.
23 And he said David not you must do thus O brothers my [that] which he has given Yahweh to us and he has kept us and he has given the marauding band which came on us in hand our.
Tedae David loh, “Ka manuca rhoek, te tlam te saii uh boeh. BOEIPA loh mamih taengla m'paek coeng te tah mamih loh ngaithuen sih. Te dongah ni mamih aka cuuk thil caem te mamih kut ah m'paek.
24 And who? will he listen to you to the matter this for like [the] share of - the [one who] went down in the battle and like [the] share of the [one who] remained with the baggage alike they will share.
Caemtloek la aka suntla rhoek kah hamsum la na ti ol te u long a hnatun eh? Te dongah hnopai taengah aka om rhoek khaw hamsum la yen tael uh thae saeh,” a ti nah.
25 And it was from the day that and on-wards and he made it into a statute and into a judgment for Israel until the day this.
Te dongah te khohnin lamkah a so hang ah tah tekah ol te oltlueh neh laitloeknah la a saii tih tihnin due Israel ham a om pah.
26 And he came David to Ziklag and he sent some of the booty to [the] elders of Judah to friend his saying here! [is] for you a blessing from [the] booty of [the] enemies of Yahweh.
David te Ziklag la a pha vaengah kutbuem te Judah kah a hamca rhoek taeng neh a hui rhoek taengla a pat tih, “BOEIPA thunkha rhoek kah kutbuem khui lamkah nangmih ham yoethennah ni he ne,” a ti nah.
27 For [those] who [were] in Beth-el and for [those] who [were] in Ramoth Negev and for [those] who [were] in Jattir.
Te rhoek te Bethel ah, tuithim Ramoth neh Jattir ah,
28 And for [those] who [were] in Aroer and for [those] who [were] in Siphmoth and for [those] who [were] in Eshtemoa.
Aroer ah, Siphmoth ah, Eshtmoa ah,
29 And for [those] who [were] in Racal and for [those] who [were] in [the] cities of the Jerahmeelite[s] and for [those] who [were] in [the] cities of the Kenite[s].
Rakal ah khaw, Jerahmeli khopuei rhoek ah khaw, Keni kah khopuei rhoek ah khaw,
30 And for [those] who [were] in Hormah and for [those] who [were] in Bor Ashan and for [those] who ([were] in Athach. *LA(bh)*)
Hormah ah khaw, Khorashan ah khaw, Athach ah khaw,
31 And for [those] who [were] in Hebron and for all the places where he had gone about there David he and men his.
Hebron neh David amah neh a hlang rhoek kah pongpa nah hmuen boeih taengah a tael.
