1 Samuel 25

1 And he died Samuel and they gathered together all Israel and they mourned for him and they buried him at house his in Ramah and he arose David and he went down to [the] wilderness of Paran.

Saamuʼeel ni duʼe; sabni Israaʼel hundi wal gaʼee isaaf booʼe; mana isaa kan Raamaa jirutti isa awwaalan. Kana irratti Daawit achii kaʼee gara Gammoojjii Phaaraanitti gad buʼe.

2 And a man [was] in Maon and business his [was] in Carmel and the man [was] great very and [belonged] to him sheep three thousand and one thousand goats and it was when sheared sheep his in Carmel.

Namni Maaʼoon kan Qarmeloos keessaa qabeenya qabu tokko akka malee sooressa ture. Innis reʼoota kuma tokkoo fi hoolota kuma sadii kanneen Qarmeloositti rifeensa irraa haadatu qaba ture.

3 And [the] name of the man [was] Nabal and [the] name of wife his [was] Abigail and the woman [was] good of insight and beautiful of appearance and the man [was] hard and evil of deeds and he ([was] a Calebite. *Q(K)*)

Maqaan isaa Naabaal, kan niitii isaa immoo Abiigayiilii dha. Isheen dubartii beektuu fi bareedduu turte; dhirsi ishee garuu addaggee fi hamaa ture; gosti isaas gosa Kaaleb.

4 And he heard David in the wilderness that [was] shearing Nabal sheep his.

Daawit akka Naabaal Gammoojjii keessatti hoolota isaa irraa rifeensa haaddachaa jiruu ni dhagaʼe.

5 And he sent David ten young men and he said David to the young men go up Carmel towards and you will go to Nabal and you will ask of him in name my to welfare.

Kanaafuu akkana jedhee dargaggoota kudhan erge; “Naabaal bira gara Qarmeloos dhaqaatii maqaa kootiin nagaa isa gaafadhaa.

6 And you will say thus to the living [one] and you peace and house your peace and all that [belongs] to you peace.

Akkanas jedhaanii: ‘Bara dheeraa jiraadhu! Nagaan siif haa taʼu; nagaan maatii keetiifis haa taʼu! Waan ati qabdu hundaafis haa taʼu!

7 And now I have heard that shearers [belong] to you now the shepherds who [belong] to you they have been with us not we have humiliated them and not it has been missing to them anything all [the] days of being they in Carmel.

“‘Ani amma akka yeroon kun yeroo itti hoolota irraa rifeensa haadan taʼe dhagaʼeera. Yeroo tiksoonni kee nu wajjin turanitti nu isaan hin miine; yeroo isaan Qarmeloos keessa turan guutuus wanni isaan qaban tokko iyyuu jalaa hin badne.

8 Ask own young men your so they may tell to you and let them find the young men favor in view your for on a day good we have come give! please [that] which it will find hand your to servants your and to son your to David.

Hojjettoota kee gaafadhu; isaan sitti himuutii. Kanaafuu waan nu yeroo gaarii dhufneef dargaggoota kootiif arjoomi. Maaloo tajaajiltoota keetii fi ilma kee Daawitiif waanuma amma harkaa qabdu kenni.’”

9 And they went [the] young men of David and they spoke to Nabal according to all the words these in [the] name of David and they rested.

Namoonni Daawitis yeroo achi gaʼanitti maqaa Daawitiin dhaamsa kana Naabaalitti himanii deebii isaa eeggatan.

10 And he answered Nabal [the] servants of David and he said who? [is] David and who? [is] [the] son of Jesse this day they are many servants who break away each one from before master his.

Naabaalis tajaajiltoota Daawitiif akkana jedhee deebise; “Daawit kun eenyu? Ilmi Isseey kun eenyu? Yeroo ammaa tajaajiltoonni hedduun gooftota isaanii jalaa badaa jiru.

11 And will I take bread my and water my and slaughter my which I have slaughtered for shearers my and will I give [them] to men who not I know where? from this [are] they.

Egaa ani maaliifan buddeena koo, bishaan koo fi foon namoota hoolota koo irraa rifeensa haadaniif qale namoota eessaa akka dhufan hin beekamneef kenna?”

12 And they turned round [the] young men of David to way their and they returned and they came and they told to him according to all the words these.

Namoonni Daawitis of irra garagalanii deebiʼan. Yeroo deebiʼanittis waan hunda isatti himan.

13 And he said David to men his gird on - everyone sword his and they girded on everyone sword his and he girded on also David sword his and they went up - after David about four hundred man and two hundred they remained with the baggage.

Daawitis namoota isaatiin, “Goraadee keessan hidhadhaa!” jedhe. Kanaafuu isaan goraadee isaanii hidhatan; Daawitis goraadee isaa hidhate. Namoonni gara dhibba afur taʼan Daawit wajjin deeman; namoonni dhibbi lama immoo miʼa biratti hafan.

14 And to Abigail [the] wife of Nabal he told a young man one from the young men saying there! he sent David messengers - from the wilderness to bless master our and he shouted at them.

Tajaajiltoota keessaa inni tokko akkana jedhee Abiigayiil niitii Naabaalitti hime: “Daawit akka isaan gooftaa keenyaaf nagaa dhiʼeessaniif gammoojjiidhaa ergamoota ergee ture; inni garuu akka malee isaan arrabse.

15 And the men [were] good to us very and not we were humiliated and not we missed anything all [the] days [which] we went about with them when were we in the field.

Taʼus namoonni kunneen nuuf baayʼee gaarii turan. Isaan nu hin miine; yeroo isaan wajjin bosona turre hundas wanti tokko iyyuu nu jalaa hin badne.

16 A wall they were with us both night as well as by day all [the] days of being we with them shepherding the flock.

17 And now know and see what? will you do for it has been determined evil against master our and on all household his and he [is] a son of worthlessness from speaking to him.

Sababii gooftaa keenyaa fi guutummaa mana isaa balaan marseef ati amma waan gochuu dandeessu yaadi. Sababii inni nama hamaa akkanaa taʼeef namni tokko iyyuu isatti dubbachuu hin dandaʼu.”

18 And she made haste (Abigail *Q(k)*) and she took two hundred bread[s] and two jars of wine and five sheep (prepared *Q(k)*) and five seahs of roasted grain and a hundred bunches of raisins and two hundred fig cakes and she put [them] on the donkeys.

19 And she said to servants her pass on before me here I after you [will be] coming and to husband her Nabal not she told.

Ergasii tajaajiltoota isheetiin, “Na dursaatii deemaa; ani isinan qaqqaba” jette. Garuu dhirsa ishee Naabaalitti hin himne.

20 And it was she - [was] riding on the donkey and [was] going down in [the] cover of the mountain and there! David and men his [were] going down to meet her and she met them.

Utuma isheen harree yaabbattee tulluudhaan daʼattee gad buʼaa jirtuu Daawitii fi namoonni isaa isheetti dhufan; isheenis isaan simatte.

21 And David he had said surely to deception I have guarded all that [belongs] to this [man] in the wilderness and not it has been missing any of all that [belongs] to him anything and he has returned to me evil in place of good.

Daawit akkana jedhee ture; “Ani akka wanni inni qabu tokko illee jalaa hin badneef gammoojjiitti qabeenya namicha kanaa eeguun koo gatii dhabeera. Inni waan gaarii ani isaaf godheef waan hamaa naaf deebiseera.

22 Thus may he do God to [the] enemies David and thus may he add if I will leave any of all that [belongs] to him until the morning [one who] urinates on a wall.

Yoo ani bori ganama waan kan isaa taʼe keessaa dhiira tokko illee lubbuun hambise, Waaqni Daawitin haa adabu; adabbiin sunis akka malee haa cimu!”

23 And she saw Abigail David and she made haste and she came down from on the donkey and she fell to [the] face of David on face her and she bowed down [the] ground.

Abiigayiil yeroo Daawitin argitetti daftee harree ishee irraa buutee adda isheetiin fuula Daawit duratti lafatti gombifamtee sagadde.

24 And she fell at feet his and she said [be] on me I O lord my the iniquity and let her speak please maidservant your in ears your and hear [the] words of maidservant your.

Isheenis miilla isaa irratti kuftee akkana jette: “Yaa gooftaa ko, balleessaan hundi ana qofa irra haa jiraatu. Maaloo akka garbittiin kee sitti dubbattu eeyyamiif; waan garbittiin kee dubbachuu barbaaddus dhagaʼi.

25 May not please he set lord my - heart his to [the] man of worthlessness this on Nabal for like name his [is] so he [is] Nabal name his and disgraceful folly [is] with him and I maidservant your not I saw [the] young men of lord my whom you sent.

Gooftaan koo waaʼee namicha hamaa sanaa waaʼee Naabaal homaattuu hin hedin. Inni akkuma maqaa isaa ti; hiikkaan maqaa isaas gowwaa jechuu dha. Gowwummaanis isa wajjin jira. Ani garbittiin kee garuu namoota gooftaan koo erge sana hin argine.

26 And now O lord my [by] [the] life of Yahweh and [by] [the] life of self your that he has restrained you Yahweh from coming in blood and [from] delivering hand your you and now may they be like Nabal enemies your and those [who] seek against lord my evil.

Akka ati dhiiga hin dhangalaafnee fi akka harka keetiin haaloo hin baafne Waaqayyo si eegeera; dhugaa Waaqayyo jiraataa; duʼa kee ti; diinonni keetii fi warri gooftaa koo miidhuu barbaadan hundi akkuma Naabaal haa taʼan.

27 And now the blessing this which he has brought maidservant your to lord my and it will be given to the young men who go about at [the] feet of lord my.

Kennaan garbittiin kee gooftaa kootiif fidde kunis namoota si duukaa buʼaniif haa kennamu.

28 Forgive please to [the] transgression of maidservant your for certainly he will make Yahweh for lord my a house enduring for [the] battles of Yahweh lord my [is] fighting and evil not it will be found in you from days your.

“Waan gooftaan koo lola Waaqayyoo loluuf Waaqayyo gooftaa kootiif dhugumaan mootummaa bara baraa ni dhaabaatii. Maaloo balleessaa garbittii keetii dhiisiif. Bara jireenya keetii keessas yakki tokko iyyuu sirratti hin argamin.

29 And he has arisen a man to pursue you and to seek life your and it will be [the] life of lord my bound up - in [the] bundle of the living with Yahweh God your and [the] life of enemies your he will sling out it in [the] midst of [the] hollow of sling.

Eenyu iyyuu lubbuu kee balleessuuf jedhee si ariʼu illee, lubbuun gooftaa koo waldaa jiraattotaa keessatti Waaqayyo Waaqa keetiin ni eegamti. Inni garuu akkuma waan wiirtuu furrisa keessaa furrifamuutti lubbuu diina keetii furrisee ni darbata.

30 And it will be that he will do Yahweh to lord my according to all that he has spoken the good on you and he will appoint you to ruler over Israel.

Yeroo Waaqayyo akkuma gooftaa kootiif waadaa gale sanatti waan gaarii hunda godheefii Israaʼel irratti hoogganaa godhee isa muudutti,

31 And not it will become this - for you staggering and stumbling of heart for lord my and pouring out of blood without cause and to deliver lord my himself and he will do good Yahweh to lord my and you will remember maidservant your.

gooftaan koo sababii yakka malee dhiiga dhangalaasuutiin yookaan sababii haaloo baafachuutiin waan isa gaabbisiisu yookaan waan qalbii isaa tuqu tokko illee hin qabaatin. Yeroo Waaqayyo Waaqni kee gooftaa kootiif waan gaarii godhutti garbittii kee yaadadhu.”

32 And he said David to Abigail [be] blessed Yahweh [the] God of Israel who he has sent you the day this to meet me.

Daawitis Abiigayiiliin akkana jedhe; “Waaqayyo Waaqni Israaʼel inni akka ati harʼa na argituuf natti si erge haa eebbifamu.

33 And [be] blessed discernment your and [be] blessed you who you have restrained me the day this from coming in blood and [from] delivering hand my me.

Ati sababii harʼa gorsa gaarii naa kennitee dhiiga dhangalaasuu fi harkuma kootiin haaloo baafachuu irraa na deebifteef eebbifami.

34 And but [by] [the] life of Yahweh [the] God of Israel who he has restrained me from doing harm to you if - if not you had made haste (and you had come *Q(k)*) to meet me that except he has been left to Nabal until [the] light of the morning [one who] urinates on a wall.

Dhugaa Waaqayyo Waaqa Israaʼel kan isin miidhuu na dhowwe jiraataa sanaa, utuu ati daftee na arguuf dhufuu baattee silaa ilmaan Naabaal keessaa dhiirri tokko iyyuu hamma lafti bariitutti hin hambifamu ture.”

35 And he took David from hand her [that] which she had brought to him and to her he said go up to peace to house your see I have listened to voice your and I have lifted up face your.

Daawitis ergasii waan isheen isaaf fidde sana harka ishee irraa fuudhatee, “Nagaan gali. Ani waan ati jette dhagaʼeera; gaaffii kees fudhadheera” jedhe.

36 And she went Abigail - to Nabal and there! [belonged] to him a feast in house his like [the] feast of king and [the] heart of Nabal it was good on him and he [was] drunk up to muchness and not she told to him anything small and great until [the] light of the morning.

Yeroo Abiigayiil gara Naabaal dhaqxetti, inni mana isaatti cidha akkuma cidha mootii tokkoo qopheessee ture. Innis gammachuudhaan guutamee akka malee machaaʼee ture. Kanaafuu isheen hamma lafti bariitutti waan tokko illee isatti hin himne.

37 And it was in the morning when had gone out the wine from Nabal and she told to him wife his the things these and it died heart his in inward part[s] his and he he became stone.

Ganama sanas yeroo machiin Naabaal irraa galetti niitiin isaa waan kana hunda itti himte; onneen isaas ni dhaabatte; innis akkuma dhagaa taʼe.

38 And it was about [the] ten the days and he struck Yahweh Nabal and he died.

Bultii kudhan booddee Waaqayyo Naabaalin dhaʼe; innis ni duʼe.

39 And he heard David that he had died Nabal and he said [be] blessed Yahweh who he has conducted [the] case of disgrace my from [the] hand of Nabal and servant his he has restrained from evil and [the] evil of Nabal he has turned back Yahweh on own head his and he sent David and he spoke with Abigail to take her for himself to a wife.

Daawitis yeroo akka Naabaal duʼe dhagaʼetti, “Waaqayyo isa arrabsoo Naabaal haaloo naaf baaseef galanni haa gaʼu. Inni garbicha isaa yakka hojjechuu dhowwee yakka Naabaal matuma isaatti deebiseeraatii” jedhe. Daawitis akka isheen niitii isaaf taatu gaafachuuf Abiigayiilitti ergaa erge.

40 And they went [the] servants of David to Abigail Carmel towards and they spoke to her saying David he has sent us to you to take you for himself to a wife.

Tajaajiltoonni isaas Qarmeloos dhaqanii Abiigayiiliin, “Daawit akka ati isaaf niitii taatuuf akka nu isatti si geessinuuf sitti nu erge” jedhan.

41 And she arose and she bowed down face [the] ground towards and she said here! maidservant your to a maid to wash [the] feet of [the] servants of lord my.

Isheenis adda isheetiin lafatti gombifamtee, “Garbittiin kee kunoo ti; ani si tajaajiluu fi miilla tajaajiltoota gooftaa koo dhiquuf qophaaʼeera” jette.

42 And she made haste and she arose Abigail and she rode on the donkey and five maids her who walked to foot her and she went after [the] messengers of David and she became of him a wife.

Abiigayiilis daftee harree yaabbattee tajaajiltoota ishee dubara shan qabattee ergamoota Daawit wajjin deebitee dhaqxee Daawitiif niitii taate.

43 And Ahinoam he had taken David from Jezreel and they became also both of them of him wives.

Akkasumas Daawit biyya Yizriʼeel keessaa Ahiinooʼamin fuudhe; lamaan isaanii iyyuu niitota taʼaniif.

44 And Saul he had given Michal daughter his [the] wife of David to Palti [the] son of Laish who [was] from Gallim.

Saaʼol garuu Miikaal intala isaa kan niitii Daawit turte sana Phaltiiʼeel ilma Laayish kan lammii Galiim ture sanatti heerumsiise.
