1 Samuel 18
1 And it was when finished he to speak to Saul and [the] self of Jonathan it was bound with [the] self of David (and he loved him *Q(k)*) Jonathan like own self his.
Erga Daawit Saaʼol wajjin haasaʼee fixatee booddee, lubbuun Yoonaataan lubbuu Daawititti maxxante; Yoonaataanis akkuma lubbuu ofii isaatti isa jaallate.
2 And he took him Saul on the day that and not he permitted him to return [the] house of father his.
Saaʼolis gaafa sanaa jalqabee Daawitin ofitti fudhate; akka inni gara mana abbaa isaatti deebiʼus hin eeyyamneef.
3 And he made Jonathan and David a covenant in love his him like own self his.
Yoonaataan sababii akka mataa isaatti isa jaallateef Daawit wajjin kakuu seene.
4 And he stripped himself Jonathan the robe which [was] on him and he gave it to David and garments his and to sword his and to bow his and to belt his.
Yoonaataanis qoloo uffatee ture of irraa baasee kittaa isaa, goraadee isaa, iddaa isaatii fi sabbata isaa dabalee Daawitiif kenne.
5 And he went out David in every where he sent him Saul he prospered and he appointed him Saul over [the] men of war and it was good in [the] eyes of all the people and also in [the] eyes of [the] servants of Saul.
Daawit iddoo Saaʼol itti isa erge hunda dhaqee ni milkaaʼa ture. Saaʼolis namoota waraanaa irratti isa sadarkaa ol aanaa kenneef. Wanni kunis saba hundaa fi tajaajiltoota Saaʼol hunda gammachiise.
6 And it was when came they when returned David from striking down the Philistine and they came out the women from all [the] cities of Israel (to sing *Q(k)*) and the dancing to meet Saul the king with tambourines with joy and with three-stringed instruments.
Dubartoonnis erga Daawit Filisxeemicha ajjeesee booddee yommuu namoonni gara mana ofii isaaniitti deebiʼanitti magaalaawwan Israaʼel hunda keessaa masiinqoo fi dibbee qabatanii faarfannaa gammachuutiin faarfachaa fi shuubbisaa Saaʼol mooticha simachuuf baʼan.
7 And they sang the women who were playing and they said he has struck down Saul (thousands his *Q(K)*) and David ten thousands his.
Dubartoonni sunis wal jalaa qabanii: “Saaʼol kumaatama ajjeese; Daawit immoo kuma kumaatamaa ajjeese” jedhanii faarfatan.
8 And it burned to Saul exceedingly and it was displeasing in view his the matter this and he said they have ascribed to David ten thousands and to me they have ascribed the thousands and yet for him only the kingship.
Saaʼol akka malee aare; jechi kunis isa hin gammachiifne. Innis, “Isaan Daawitiif kuma kumaatama kennan; anaaf garuu kumaatama qofa kennan. Mootummaa fudhachuu malee maaltu isa hafe?” jedhee yaade.
9 And he was Saul (looking at *Q(K)*) David from the day that and onwards.
Gaafasii jalqabee Saaʼol ija hinaaffaatiin Daawitin ilaala ture.
10 And it was from [the] next day and it rushed a spirit of God - evil - to Saul and he prophesied in [the] midst of the house and David [was] playing an instrument with hand his as a day - in a day and the spear [was] in [the] hand of Saul.
Guyyaa itti aanutti hafuurri hamaan Waaqa biraa humnaan Saaʼolitti dhufe. Innis mana isaa keessatti raajii dubbachaa ture; Daawit immoo akkuma duraan godhu sana baganaa taphachaa ture. Saaʼolis eeboo harkatti qabatee ture;
11 And he threw Saul the spear and he said I will strike David and the wall and he went around David from before him two times.
innis, “Ani Daawitin keenyanittan hodha” jedhee waan yaadeef eeboo itti darbate. Daawit garuu yeroo lama isa duraa miliqe.
12 And he was afraid Saul from to before David for he was Yahweh with him and from with Saul he had turned aside.
Saaʼolis Daawitin sodaate; Waaqayyo Saaʼolin dhiisee Daawit wajjin tureetii.
13 And he removed him Saul from with him and he appointed him for himself a commander of a thousand and he went out and he came before the people.
Kanaafuu Saaʼol Daawitin fuula ofii isaa duraa fageessee ajajaa kumaa isa godhe; Daawitis loltoota hoogganee ni baʼa; ni galas ture.
14 And he was David to all (ways his *Q(K)*) successful and Yahweh [was] with him.
Sababii Waaqayyo isa wajjin tureef inni waan hojjetu hundumaan ni milkaaʼa ture.
15 And he saw Saul that he [was] successful exceedingly and he was afraid of him.
Saaʼolis yeroo akka inni milkaaʼe argetti isa ni sodaate.
16 And all Israel and Judah [were] loving David for he [was] going out and [was] coming before them.
Israaʼelii fi Yihuudaan hundi garuu Daawitin ni jaallatan; inni fuula isaanii dura ni baʼa; ni galas tureetii.
17 And he said Saul to David here! daughter my elder Merab her I will give to you to a wife only become of me a son of strength and fight [the] battles of Yahweh and Saul he said may not it be hand my on him and let it be on him [the] hand of [the] Philistines.
Saaʼolis Daawitiin, “Meerab intalli koo hangafti kunoo ti; ati jagnummaan lola Waaqayyoo loli malee ani ishee sitti nan heerumsiisa” jedhe. Saaʼol, “Harki Filisxeemotaa isa irratti haa kaʼu malee ani harka koo isa irratti hin kaasu” jedhee yaadaa tureetii.
18 And he said David to Saul who? [am] I and who? [are] kinsfolk my [the] clan of father my in Israel that I will be a son-in-law of the king.
Daawit garuu Saaʼoliin, “Soddaa mootii taʼuuf ani eenyu? Maatiin koo yookaan gosti abbaa koo Israaʼel keessatti maali?” jedhe.
19 And it was at [the] time gave Merab [the] daughter of Saul to David and she she was given to Adriel the Meholathite to a wife.
Kanaafuu yommuu yeroon itti Meerab intalli Saaʼol Daawititti heerumtu dhiʼaatetti isheen Adriiʼeel nama biyya Mehoolaatitti heerumte.
20 And she loved Michal [the] daughter of Saul David and people told to Saul and it was pleasing the matter in view his.
Miikaal intalli Saaʼolis Daawitin jaallattee turte; Saaʼolis yeroo waaʼee kanaa dhagaʼetti ni gammade.
21 And he said Saul I will give her to him so she may become for him a snare so it may be on him [the] hand of [the] Philistines and he said Saul to David in two [times] you will be a son-in-law to me this day.
Innis, “Akka isheen kiyyoo isatti taatuu fi akka harki Filisxeemotaa isa argatuuf ani ishee isatti nan heerumsiisa” jedhee yaade. Kanaafuu Saaʼol Daawitiin, “Ati amma soddaa koo taʼuuf carraa lammaffaa qabda” jedhe.
22 And he commanded Saul (servants his *Q(K)*) speak to David in secrecy saying here! he delights in you the king and all servants his they love you and therefore be son-in-law to the king.
Ergasiis Saaʼol, “‘Kunoo mootiin sitti gammada; tajaajiltoonni isaa hundinuus si jaallatu; ati amma soddaa isaa taʼi’ jedhaatii dhoksaadhaan Daawititti himaa” jedhee tajaajiltoota isaa ajaje.
23 And they spoke [the] servants of Saul in [the] ears of David the words these and he said David ¿ trifling in view your [is] to be son-in-law to the king and I [am] a man poor and lightly esteemed.
Isaanis irra deebiʼanii waan kana Daawititti himan; Daawit garuu, “Soddaa mootii taʼuun waanuma salphaa seetanii? Ani hiyyeessa; nama hamma kanatti beekamus miti” jedhe.
24 And they told [the] servants of Saul to him saying according to the words these he spoke David.
Tajaajiltoonni Saaʼol waan Daawit jedhe isatti himan;
25 And he said Saul thus you will say to David not delight [belongs] to the king in bride-price for for a hundred foreskins of Philistines to avenge himself on [the] enemies of the king and Saul he planned to make fall David by [the] hand of [the] Philistines.
Saaʼol immoo, “‘Mootichi diinota isaa haaloo baʼuuf misaa Filisxeemotaa dhibba tokko malee gabbara biraa tokko illee sirraa hin barbaadu’ jedhaatii Daawititti himaa” jedhe. Karoorri Saaʼol akka Daawit harka Filisxeemotaatti kufu ture.
26 And they told servants his to David the words these and it was pleasing the matter in [the] eyes of David to be son-in-law to the king and not they were completed the days.
Yommuu tajaajiltoonni sun waan kana Daawititti himanitti, Daawit soddaa mootii taʼuuf ni gammade. Kanaafuu utuu yeroon isaa hin gaʼin,
27 And he arose David and he went - he and men his and he struck down among the Philistines two hundred man and he brought David foreskins their and people gave in full them to the king to be son-in-law to the king and he gave to him Saul Michal daughter his to a wife.
Daawitii fi namoonni isaa dhaqanii Filisxeemota dhibba lama ajjeesan. Daawitis soddaa mootii taʼuuf jedhee misaa Filisxeemota ajjeefamanii hunda fidee mootichatti kenne. Kana irratti Saaʼol intala isaa Miikaalin isatti heerumsiise.
28 And he saw Saul and he knew that Yahweh [was] with David and Michal [the] daughter of Saul she loved him.
Saaʼol yommuu akka Waaqayyo Daawit wajjin jiruu fi akka Miikaal isa jaallate hubatetti,
29 And he increased Saul to be afraid of David again and he was Saul an enemy David all the days.
ammas akka malee isa sodaate; bara jireenya isaa kan hafe hundas diina isaa taʼee jiraate.
30 And they went out [the] commanders of [the] Philistines and it was - as often as went out they he was successful David more than all [the] servants of Saul and it was esteemed name his exceedingly.
Ajajjoonni waraana Filisxeemotaas yeroo hedduu waraanaaf ni baʼu turan; yeroo isaan waraanaaf baʼan hundas Daawit qondaaltota Saaʼol kaan caalaa moʼannaa argata ture; maqaan isaas baayʼee beekame.
