1 And it was when finished he to speak to Saul and [the] self of Jonathan it was bound with [the] self of David (and he loved him *Q(k)*) Jonathan like own self his.

2 And he took him Saul on the day that and not he permitted him to return [the] house of father his.
Tekah khohnin lamkah longah David te Saul loh a loh tih, a napa im la bal sak voel pawh.
3 And he made Jonathan and David a covenant in love his him like own self his.
David te Jonathan loh amah hinglu bangla a lungnah dongah moi a boh pah.
4 And he stripped himself Jonathan the robe which [was] on him and he gave it to David and garments his and to sword his and to bow his and to belt his.
Te dongah Jonathan loh a hnikul te a pit tih a himbai khaw, a cunghang khaw, a lii neh a hni khaw David a paek.
5 And he went out David in every where he sent him Saul he prospered and he appointed him Saul over [the] men of war and it was good in [the] eyes of all the people and also in [the] eyes of [the] servants of Saul.

6 And it was when came they when returned David from striking down the Philistine and they came out the women from all [the] cities of Israel (to sing *Q(k)*) and the dancing to meet Saul the king with tambourines with joy and with three-stringed instruments.
Philisti aka tloek lamloh David ha bal phoeiah amih te khaw bal uh. Te vaengah manghai Saul doe hamla Israel khopuei tom lamkah huta rhoek loh kamrhing neh, toembael neh, kohoenah neh a lam neh a hlai uh tih ha pawk uh.
7 And they sang the women who were playing and they said he has struck down Saul (thousands his *Q(K)*) and David ten thousands his.
Te vaengah huta rhoek loh a nueih doela a doo uh tih, “Saul loh thawngkhat, thawngkhat, David loh thawngrha a ngawn,” a ti nah.
8 And it burned to Saul exceedingly and it was displeasing in view his the matter this and he said they have ascribed to David ten thousands and to me they have ascribed the thousands and yet for him only the kingship.
Te vaengah Saul te ta-oe lungoe. Tekah olka te a mikhmuh ah thae ni a huet pah. Te dongah Saul loh, “David tah thawngrha a paek uh tih kai tloe tah thawngkhat m'paek uh. Ram aka om duen khaw anih ham khoep thil koinih,” a ti.
9 And he was Saul (looking at *Q(K)*) David from the day that and onwards.
Te khohnin lamkah long tah Saul loh David te thaesainah neh a mikmuelh coeng.
10 And it was from [the] next day and it rushed a spirit of God - evil - to Saul and he prophesied in [the] midst of the house and David [was] playing an instrument with hand his as a day - in a day and the spear [was] in [the] hand of Saul.
A vuen ah tah Pathen kah mueihla thae te Saul soah thaihtak tih a im khui ah a tonghma pah. Khohnin khohnin ah David loh a kut neh rhotoeng a tum pah dae Saul kut dongah caai ni a om.
11 And he threw Saul the spear and he said I will strike David and the wall and he went around David from before him two times.
Te vaengah Saul loh David te, “Ka ngawn eh?,” a ti coeng dae pangbueng te caai neh a khoh. Te vaengah David te Saul mikhmuh lamloh hnavoei a paelhael tak.
12 And he was afraid Saul from to before David for he was Yahweh with him and from with Saul he had turned aside.
David he BOEIPA loh a om puei dongah Saul loh a rhih. Tedae David amah te Saul taeng lamloh vik nong.
13 And he removed him Saul from with him and he appointed him for himself a commander of a thousand and he went out and he came before the people.
Te dongah Saul loh David te amah taeng lamloh a tueih tih amah yueng la thawngkhat kah mangpa la a khueh. Te dongah David khaw pilnam kah mikhmuh la mop van tih pongpa van.
14 And he was David to all (ways his *Q(K)*) successful and Yahweh [was] with him.
A longpuei ah David te BOEIPA loh boeih a cangbam tih anih te a om puei.
15 And he saw Saul that he [was] successful exceedingly and he was afraid of him.
Anih loh bahoeng a cangbam te Saul loh a hmuh vaengah a mikhmuh ah bakuep coeng.
16 And all Israel and Judah [were] loving David for he [was] going out and [was] coming before them.
David he Israel neh Judah pum loh a lungnah dongah amah amih mikhmuh ah mop van tih pongpa van.
17 And he said Saul to David here! daughter my elder Merab her I will give to you to a wife only become of me a son of strength and fight [the] battles of Yahweh and Saul he said may not it be hand my on him and let it be on him [the] hand of [the] Philistines.
Te vaengah David te Saul loh, “Ka canu a ham Merab he na yuu la kam pae eh?, kamah taengah tatthai ca la dawk om lamtah BOEIPA kah caemtloek te vathoh thil,” a ti nah. Tedae Saul loh, “Ka kut loh David cuuk thil pawt cakhaw Philisti kut loh cuuk thil kolo saeh,” a ti.
18 And he said David to Saul who? [am] I and who? [are] kinsfolk my [the] clan of father my in Israel that I will be a son-in-law of the king.
Tedae David loh Saul taengah, “Manghai cava la om ham akhaw Israel khuiah kai he ulae? A pa kah a hui a ko khuiah kai kah hingnah he balae?,” a ti nah.
19 And it was at [the] time gave Merab [the] daughter of Saul to David and she she was given to Adriel the Meholathite to a wife.
Tedae Saul canu Merab te David taengla paek ham a tue a pha vaengah tah anih te Mekoloti Adriel yuu la a paek.
20 And she loved Michal [the] daughter of Saul David and people told to Saul and it was pleasing the matter in view his.
David loh Saul canu Mikhal a lungnah tih Saul taengla a puen pa uh hatah olka te a mikhmuh ah a thuem sak.
21 And he said Saul I will give her to him so she may become for him a snare so it may be on him [the] hand of [the] Philistines and he said Saul to David in two [times] you will be a son-in-law to me this day.
Te vaengah Saul loh, “Anih ka paek daengah ni David taengah hlaeh la a om pa vetih Philisti kut loh a cuuk thil eh?,” a ti. Te dongah Saul loh David te, “Tihnin ah a pabae la kan cava nah eh,” a ti nah.
22 And he commanded Saul (servants his *Q(K)*) speak to David in secrecy saying here! he delights in you the king and all servants his they love you and therefore be son-in-law to the king.
Te phoeiah Saul loh a sal rhoek te, “David te a huep la voek uh lamtah, 'Manghai loh nang ng'ngaih tih a sal boeih long khaw nang n'lungnah coeng dongah manghai cava la om laeh,’ ti nah,” tila a uen.
23 And they spoke [the] servants of Saul in [the] ears of David the words these and he said David ¿ trifling in view your [is] to be son-in-law to the king and I [am] a man poor and lightly esteemed.
Tekah ol te Saul kah sal rhoek loh David hna ah a thui uh. Tedae David loh, “Na mikhmuh ah manghai loh n'cava nah te rhaemaih la, kai tah vawtthoek hlang neh rhaidaeng la,” a ti nah.
24 And they told [the] servants of Saul to him saying according to the words these he spoke David.
Te dongah Saul taengla a sal rhoek te puen uh tih David kah a thui olka te a thui pah.
25 And he said Saul thus you will say to David not delight [belongs] to the king in bride-price for for a hundred foreskins of Philistines to avenge himself on [the] enemies of the king and Saul he planned to make fall David by [the] hand of [the] Philistines.
Saul loh, “David te thui pah, manghai hamla maan a kuek moenih, manghai kah thunkha rhoek taengah phuloh, ham Philisti kah yahhmui yakhat mah,” a ti nah. Te vaengah David te Philisti kut ah cungku sak ham Saul loh a moeh.
26 And they told servants his to David the words these and it was pleasing the matter in [the] eyes of David to be son-in-law to the king and not they were completed the days.
Te olka te a sal rhoek loh David taengla a puen pa uh vaengah tah, manghai loh a cava nah ham te, David mikhmuh ah khaw olka tluek tluek khui tih khohnin khaw thok sak voel pawh.
27 And he arose David and he went - he and men his and he struck down among the Philistines two hundred man and he brought David foreskins their and people gave in full them to the king to be son-in-law to the king and he gave to him Saul Michal daughter his to a wife.
Te dongah David te thoo tih a hlang rhoek te a caeh puei. Te phoeiah Philisti hlang yahnih te a ngawn. Amih kah yahhmui te David loh a khuen tih manghai loh a cava nah ham a kuek te manghai taengah a cuum sak. Te daengah a yuu la a canu Mikhal te Saul loh David taengah a paek.
28 And he saw Saul and he knew that Yahweh [was] with David and Michal [the] daughter of Saul she loved him.
Saul loh a sawt vaengah David taengah BOEIPA om tih Saul canu Mikhal loh David a lungnah te a ming.
29 And he increased Saul to be afraid of David again and he was Saul an enemy David all the days.
David a rhih te Saul loh koep koep a koei dongah hnin takuem ah Saul he David kah thunkha la a om pah.
30 And they went out [the] commanders of [the] Philistines and it was - as often as went out they he was successful David more than all [the] servants of Saul and it was esteemed name his exceedingly.
Philisti mangpa rhoek ha pawk tih amih taengah aka cet dingdoeng la a om vaengah khaw Saul kah a sal rhoek te David loh boeih a cangbam dongah a ming khaw then tangkik.
