1 Samuel 15
1 And he said Samuel to Saul me he sent Yahweh to anoint you to king over people his over Israel and therefore listen to [the] voice of [the] words of Yahweh.
Jednom Samuel reče Šaulu: “Mene je Jahve poslao da te pomažem za kralja nad njegovim narodom Izraelom. Poslušaj, dakle, riječi Jahvine.
2 Thus he says Yahweh of hosts I have paid attention to [that] which it did Amalek to Israel [that] which it set to it on the way when came up it from Egypt.
Ovako govori Jahve nad vojskama: 'Odlučio sam osvetiti ono što je Amalek učinio Izraelu zatvarajući mu put kad je izlazio iz Egipta.
3 Now go and you will attack Amalek and you will totally destroy all that [belongs] to it and not you must have compassion on it and you will put to death from a man unto a woman from a child and unto a suckling-child from an ox and unto a sheep from a camel and unto a donkey.
Sada idi i udari na Amaleka, izvrši “herem”, kleto uništenje, na njemu i na svemu što posjeduje; ne štedi ga, pobij muškarce i žene, djecu i dojenčad, goveda i ovce, deve i magarce!'”
4 And he summoned Saul the people and he mustered them at Telaim two hundred thousand foot soldier[s] and ten thousand with man of Judah.
Šaul sazva narod te ih izbroji u Telamu: bijaše ih dvije stotine tisuća pješaka (i deset tisuća Judejaca).
5 And he came Saul to [the] city of Amalek and he lay in wait in the wadi.
Šaul dođe do amalečkoga grada i postavi zasjedu u dolini potoka.
6 And he said Saul to the Kenite[s] go depart go down from among [the] Amalekite[s] lest I should destroy you with it and you you did loyalty with all [the] people of Israel when came up they from Egypt and it departed [the] Kenite[s] from among Amalek.
Potom Šaul poruči Kenijcima: “Otiđite i odvojite se od Amalečana da vas ne bih istrijebio zajedno s njima, jer ste bili skloni svim Izraelcima kad su izlazili iz Egipta.” I Kenijci se odvojiše od Amalečana.
7 And he attacked Saul Amalek from Havilah coming you Shur which [is] on [the] face of Egypt.
Šaul potuče Amalečane od Havile pa sve do Šura, koji leži pred Egiptom.
8 And he seized Agag [the] king of Amalek alive and all the people he totally destroyed to [the] mouth of [the] sword.
I živa uhvati Agaga, amalečkog kralja, a sav narod zatre oštricom mača, izvršujući “herem”, kleto uništenje.
9 And he had compassion Saul and the people on Agag and on [the] best of the sheep and the cattle and the second and on the lambs and on all the good and not they were willing to totally destroy them and all the property despised and worthless it they totally destroyed.
Ali Šaul i narod poštedješe Agaga i najbolje ovce i najbolja goveda, ugojenu stoku i jaganjce i sve što je bilo dobro. Na svemu tome ne htjedoše izvršiti “herem”; nego što je god od stoke bilo bez cijene i vrijednosti, na tom izvršiše “herem”.
10 And it came [the] word of Yahweh to Samuel saying.
Zato dođe riječ Jahvina Samuelu ovako:
11 I regret that I have made king Saul to king for he has turned back from after me and words my not he has carried out and it burned to Samuel and he cried out to Yahweh all the night.
“Kajem se što sam Šaula postavio za kralja: okrenuo se od mene i nije izvršio mojih zapovijedi.” Samuel se ražalosti i svu je noć vapio Jahvi.
12 And he rose early Samuel to meet Saul in the morning and it was told to Samuel saying he came Saul Carmel towards and there! [he was] setting up for himself a monument and he turned and he passed on and he went down Gilgal.
U rano jutro krenu Samuel da potraži Šaula. I javiše Samuelu ovako: “Šaul je otišao u Karmel, i gle, podigao je ondje sebi spomenik; zatim je otišao dalje i sišao u Gilgal.”
13 And he came Samuel to Saul and he said to him Saul [be] blessed you by Yahweh I have carried out [the] word of Yahweh.
Kad je Samuel došao k Šaulu, reče mu Šaul: “Blagoslovljen da si od Jahve! Izvršio sam Jahvinu zapovijed.”
14 And he said Samuel and what? [is] [the] sound of the sheep this in ears my and [the] sound of the cattle which I [am] hearing.
Ali Samuel upita: “Kakvo je to ovčje blejanje što dopire do mojih ušiju i mukanje goveda koje čujem?”
15 And he said Saul from [the] Amalekite[s] people brought them that it had compassion the people on [the] best of the sheep and the cattle so as to sacrifice [them] to Yahweh God your and the rest we totally destroyed.
A Šaul odgovori: “Dognali su ih od Amalečana, jer je narod poštedio najbolje ovce i najbolja goveda da ih žrtvuje Jahvi, tvome Bogu. Na svemu drugome izvršili smo 'herem'.”
16 And he said Samuel to Saul be quiet so let me tell to you [that] which he said Yahweh to me this night (and he said *Q(K)*) to him speak.
A Samuel reče Šaulu: “Stani da ti kažem što mi je noćas objavio Jahve.” A on reče: “Govori!”
17 And he said Samuel ¿ not though [were] small you in own eyes your [the] head of [the] tribes of Israel [are] you and he anointed you Yahweh to king over Israel.
Tada će Samuel: “Koliko god si malen sam u svojim očima, ipak si postao glavar Izraelovih plemena. Jahve te pomazao za kralja nad Izraelom.
18 And he sent you Yahweh on a journey and he said go and you will totally destroy the sinners Amalek and you will wage war against it until destroy they them.
Jahve te poslao na vojni pohod i zapovjedio ti: 'Idi, izvrši 'herem' na tim grešnicima, na Amalečanima, vojuj na njih do istrebljenja.'
19 And why? not did you listen to [the] voice of Yahweh and did you rush? to the plunder and did you do? the evil in [the] eyes of Yahweh.
Zašto nisi poslušao riječi Jahvine? Zašto si se bacio na plijen i učinio ono što je zlo u Jahvinim očima?”
20 And he said Saul to Samuel that I listened to [the] voice of Yahweh and I went on the journey which he sent me Yahweh and I brought Agag [the] king of Amalek and Amalek I totally destroyed.
Šaul odgovori Samuelu: “Ja sam poslušao riječ Jahvinu: poduzeo sam pohod kamo me poslao, doveo sam Agaga, amalečkoga kralja, i izvršio 'herem' na Amalečanima.
21 And it took the people from the plunder sheep and cattle [the] choicest of the object[s] for destruction to sacrifice [them] to Yahweh God your in Gilgal.
Ali je narod od plijena uzeo ovaca i goveda, i to najbolje na čemu se imao izvršiti 'herem', da žrtvuje Jahvi, tvome Bogu, u Gilgalu.”
22 And he said Samuel ¿ [does] delight [belong] to Yahweh in burnt offerings and sacrifices like listening to [the] voice of Yahweh here! to obey more than sacrifice [is] good to pay attention more than [the] fat of rams.
A Samuel odvrati: “Jesu li Jahvi milije paljenice i klanice nego poslušnost njegovu glasu? Znaj, poslušnost je vrednija od najbolje žrtve, pokornost je bolja od ovnujske pretiline.
23 For [is the] sin of divination rebellion and [is] wickedness and teraphim presumption because you have rejected [the] word of Yahweh and he has rejected you from king.
Nepokornost je kao grijeh čaranja, samovolja je kao zločin s idolima. Ti si odbacio riječ Jahvinu, zato je Jahve odbacio tebe da ne budeš više kralj!”
24 And he said Saul to Samuel I have sinned for I have transgressed [the] mouth of Yahweh and words your for I feared the people and I listened to voice their.
Tada Šaul odvrati Samuelu: “Zgriješio sam što sam prekršio Jahvinu zapovijed i tvoje naredbe. Bojao sam se naroda i popustio njegovu zahtjevu.
25 And therefore forgive please sin my and return with me so I may bow down to Yahweh.
A sada mi oprosti moj grijeh i vrati se sa mnom da se poklonim Jahvi.”
26 And he said Samuel to Saul not I will return with you for you have rejected [the] word of Yahweh and he has rejected you Yahweh from being king over Israel.
Ali Samuel odgovori Šaulu: “Neću se vratiti s tobom: ti si odbacio Jahvinu riječ, zato je Jahve odbacio tebe da ne budeš više kralj nad Izraelom.”
27 And he turned round Samuel to go and he took hold on [the] skirt of robe his and it tore.
Kad se Samuel okrenuo da ode, Šaul čvrsto uhvati skut njegova plašta, ali se skut otkide.
28 And he said to him Samuel he has torn Yahweh [the] kingdom of Israel from with you this day and he will give it to neighbor your good more than you.
Tada mu reče Samuel: “Danas ti je Jahve otkinuo kraljevstvo nad Izraelom i dao ga tvome susjedu, koji je bolji od tebe.” -
29 And also [the] eminence of Israel not he will deal falsely and not he will regret for not [is] a man he to regret.
Ipak, Slava Izraelova ne laže i ne kaje se, jer nije čovjek da bi se kajao. -
30 And he said I have sinned now honor me please before [the] elders of people my and before Israel and return with me and I will bow down to Yahweh God your.
Šaul reče: “Sagriješio sam; ali mi sada učini čast pred starješinama moga naroda i pred Izraelom i vrati se sa mnom da se poklonim Jahvi, tvome Bogu.”
31 And he turned back Samuel after Saul and he bowed down Saul to Yahweh.
I Samuel se vrati sa Šaulom i Šaul se pokloni Jahvi.
32 And he said Samuel bring near to me Agag [the] king of Amalek and he came to him Agag bonds and he said Agag truly it has departed [the] bitterness of death.
Potom zapovjedi Samuel: “Dovedite k meni Agaga, amalečkoga kralja!” I Agag dođe k njemu opirući se i reče: “Zaista, smrt je gorka!”
33 And he said Samuel just as it has made childless women sword your so she will become childless from women mother your and he cut to pieces Samuel Agag before Yahweh in Gilgal.
Samuel mu odvrati: “Kao što je tvoj mač mnogim ženama oteo djecu, tako će među ženama tvoja majka ostati bez djeteta!” I Samuel posiječe Agaga pred Jahvom u Gilgalu.
34 And he went Samuel Ramah towards and Saul he went up to house his Gibeah of Saul.
Potom Samuel ode u Ramu, a Šaul se vrati svojoj kući u Šaulovu Gibeu.
35 And not he repeated Samuel to see Saul until [the] day of death his for he mourned Samuel concerning Saul and Yahweh he regretted that he had made king Saul over Israel.
I Samuel nije više vidio Šaula do svoga smrtnog dana. Samuel je tugovao zbog Šaula, ali se Jahve pokajao što je Šaula postavio za kralja nad Izraelom.
