< 1 Samuel 14 >

1 And it was the day and he said Jonathan [the] son of Saul to the young man [the] bearer of armor his come! so let us pass over to [the] garrison of [the] Philistines which [is] from [the] other side of this and to father his not he told.
Gbe ɖeka la, Fiavi Yonatan gblɔ na ɖekakpui si nye eƒe adekplɔvi la be, “Na míato balime la ayi Filistitɔwo ƒe dzɔlawo gbɔ.” Ke megblɔe na fofoa be yeyina o.
2 And Saul [was] remaining at [the] edge of Gibeah under pomegranate tree which [is] in Migron and the people which [was] with him [was] about six hundred man.
Saul kple eƒe aʋawɔla alafa adeawo ƒo ƒu ɖe yevuboɖati la gbɔ le Migron.
3 And Ahijah [the] son of Ahitub [the] brother of Ichabod - [the] son of Phinehas [the] son of Eli [the] priest of - Yahweh in Shiloh [was] bearing an ephod and the people not it knew that he had gone Jonathan.
Nunɔla Ahiya si do akɔtawui hã nɔ ameawo dome. Ahiya nye Ahitub, Ikabod nɔvi ƒe vi, eganye Finehas ƒe tɔgbuiyɔvi eye Finehas fofoe nye Eli, Yehowa ƒe nunɔla le Silo. Ke ame aɖeke menya be Yonatan yi o.
4 And [were] between the passes which he sought Jonathan to pass over to [the] garrison of [the] Philistines [the] tooth of the rock from the other side from this and [the] tooth of the rock from the other side from this and [the] name of the one [was] Bozez and [the] name of the one [was] Seneh.
Hafi Yonatan naɖo Filistitɔwo ƒe dzɔlawo gbɔ la, ele nɛ be wòato mɔ xaxɛ aɖe si to agakpe eve dome la dzi. Woyɔa agakpe ɖeka be Bozez eye woyɔa evelia be Sene.
5 The tooth the one a pillar [was] from [the] north opposite to Micmash and the one [tooth] [was] from [the] south opposite to Geba.
Agakpe anyiehetɔ nɔ Mikmas ŋgɔ eye dziehetɔ nɔ Geba ŋgɔ.
6 And he said Jonathan to the young man - [the] bearer of armor his come! so let us pass over to [the] garrison of the uncircumcised [men] these perhaps he will act Yahweh for us for not [belongs] to Yahweh a limitation to save by many or by few.
Yonatan gblɔ na eƒe adekplɔvi be, “Na míayi aʋamatsomatsoetɔ mawo gbɔ, ɖewohĩ Yehowa awɔ nukunu aɖe na mí elabena amewo ƒe agbɔsɔsɔ menye naneke le Yehowa gbɔ o!”
7 And he said to him [the] bearer of armor his do all that [is] in heart your turn aside for yourself here I [am] with you according to heart your.
Adekplɔvi la gblɔ be, “Yoo, wɔ nu si nyo na wò; mele yowòme sesĩe.”
8 And he said Jonathan here! we [are] about to pass over to the men and we will reveal ourselves to them.
Yonatan gblɔ nɛ be, “Enyo, nu si míawɔ enye
9 If thus they will say to us be still until reach we you and we will remain in place our and not we will go up to them.
ne futɔwo kpɔ mí eye wogblɔ be, ‘Mitɔ ɖe afi ma ne menye nenema o la, míawu mi’ la, ekema míatɔ alala wo.
10 And if thus they will say come up to us and we will go up for he has given them Yahweh in hand our and this for us [will be] the sign.
Ke ne wogblɔ be, ‘Milia toa miava wɔ aʋa kpli mí’ la, ekema míawɔ nenema tutututu elabena eyae anye dzesi be Yehowa tsɔ wo de asi na mí.”
11 And they revealed themselves [the] two of them to [the] garrison of [the] Philistines and they said [the] Philistines here! Hebrews [are] coming out from the holes where they have hidden themselves there.
Esi Filistitɔwo kpɔ wo wogbɔna la, wodo ɣli be, “Mikpɔ ɖa, Israelviwo le dodom le woƒe dowo me!”
12 And they answered [the] men of the garrison Jonathan - and [the] bearer of armor his and they said come up to us so let us make known to you something. And he said Jonathan to [the] bearer of armor his come up after me for he has given them Yahweh in [the] hand of Israel.
Wodo ɣli na Yonatan be, “Lia toa nàva kpɔ nane ɖa.” Yonatan gblɔ na eƒe adekplɔvi be, “Lia toa eye nànɔ yonyeme tututu elabena Yehowa akpe ɖe mía ŋu míaɖu wo dzi!”
13 And he went up Jonathan on hands his and on feet his and [the] bearer of armor his [was] behind him and they fell before Jonathan and [the] bearer of armor his [was] killing behind him.
Ale wota le asi kple klo dzi yi wo gbɔ, kasia Filistitɔwo de asi sisi me esi Yonatan kple eƒe adekplɔvi la de asi wo wuwu me.
14 And it was the slaughter first which he struck down Jonathan and [the] bearer of armor his about twenty man about in half of a furrow an acre of a field.
Wowu wo dometɔ blaeve eye ame kukuawo kaka ɖe teƒe si de agbleka afã.
15 And it was trembling in the camp in the field and among all the people the garrison and the destroyer they trembled also they and it quaked the earth and it became a trembling of God.
Nu sia na Filistitɔwo ƒe aʋawɔlawo kple nuhalawo sia vɔ̃ eye wotɔtɔ. Hekpe ɖe esia ŋu la anyigba ʋuʋu sesĩe eye vɔvɔ̃ gaɖo futɔwo wu tsã elabena ŋɔdzi la tso Mawu gbɔ.
16 And they saw the watchmen of Saul at Gibeah of Benjamin and there! the multitude it melted away and it went and here.
Saul ƒe gbetakpɔlawo le Benyamin ƒe Gibea kpɔ nu wɔnuku aɖe: wokpɔ Filistitɔwo ƒe aʋawɔlawo nɔ sisim tso afii yi afi mɛ.
17 And he said Saul to the people which [was] with him muster please and see who? has he gone from with us and they mustered and there! there not [were] Jonathan and [the] bearer of armor his.
Saul gblɔ na eƒe amewo be, “Mikpɔe ɖa be ame kae mele afi sia o.” Esi woxlẽ ameawo la, wokpɔ be Yonatan kple eƒe adekplɔvi menɔ wo dome o.
18 And he said Saul to Ahijah bring near! [the] ark of God for it was [the] ark of God on the day that and [the] people of Israel.
Saul do ɣli gblɔ na Ahiya be, “Mitsɔ Mawu ƒe nubablaɖaka la vɛ!” nubablaɖaka la nɔ Israelviwo dome ɣe ma ɣi.
19 And it was until he spoke Saul to the priest and the tumult which [was] in [the] camp of [the] Philistines and it went continuously and great. And he said Saul to the priest withdraw hand your.
Ke esi Saul nɔ nu ƒom na nunɔlaa la, Filistitɔwo ƒe ɣlidodo kple ʋunyaʋunyawɔwɔ le woƒe asaɖa me nɔ dzi dem ɖe edzi. Saul gblɔ be, “Netsɔ! Nya kae Yehowa gblɔ?”
20 And he was called together Saul and all the people which [was] with him and they went to the battle and there! it was [the] sword of each man in neighbor his panic [was] great very.
Saul kple eƒe ame alafa adeawo zɔ ɖe Filistitɔwo dzi. Wokpɔ be wonɔ wo nɔewo wum ko nyamanyama.
21 And the Hebrews they [who] were [belonging] to the Philistines as yesterday three days ago who they had gone up with them in the camp all around and also they to be with Israel which [was] with Saul and Jonathan.
Hebritɔ siwo nɔ Filistitɔwo ƒe aʋakɔ me tsã la, dze aglã eye wodzo va de Israelvi siwo le Saul kple Yonatan ŋu la dzi.
22 And every person of Israel who had hidden themselves in [the] hill country of Ephraim they heard that they had fled [the] Philistines and they pursued closely also they after them in the battle.
Mlɔeba la, esi Israelvi siwo ɣla wo ɖokuiwo ɖe Efraim toawo dzi la kpɔ be Filistitɔwo nɔ sisim la, woawo hã va kpe ɖe wo nɔviwo ŋu wonya Filistitɔwo ɖe du nu.
23 And he delivered Yahweh on the day that Israel and the battle it passed beyond Beth Aven.
Ale Yehowa ɖe Israel gbe ma gbe eye wowɔ aʋa la dze le Bet Aven ŋu.
24 And [the] man of Israel he was hard pressed on the day that and he had put under oath Saul the people saying [be] cursed the person who he will eat food until the evening and I will avenge myself from enemies my and not it tasted all the people food.
Ale Israelviwo ɖo xaxa gã aɖe me gbe ma gbe elabena Saul bla ameawo kple atam be, “Fiƒode ava ame si aɖu nu hafi fiẽ naɖo la dzi eye ame aɖeke mekpɔ mɔ aɖu nu o, va se ɖe esime mabia hlɔ̃ nye futɔwo!” Ale ame aɖeke meɖu nu la aʋakɔ me gbe ma gbe o.
25 And all the land they went in the forest and it was honey on [the] surface of the field.
Aʋakɔ blibo la ge ɖe ave la me eye wokpɔ anyitsi le anyigba.
26 And it came the people into the forest and there! a flowing of honey and there not [was one who] reached hand his to mouth his for it feared the people the oath.
Esi wole avea me la, wokpɔ anyitsi wole dzidzim gake ame aɖeke mede asi eme ɖuɖɔ o, elabena wovɔ̃ Saul ƒe atam si wòka la.
27 And Jonathan not he had heard when made to swear an oath father his the people and he stretched out [the] end of the staff which [was] in hand his and he dipped it in [the] honeycomb of the honey and he brought back hand his to mouth his (and they brightened *Q(K)*) eyes his.
Ke Yonatan ya mese se si fofoa de o eya ta wòtsɔ eƒe atikplɔ tɔ anyitsia me heno eye ŋusẽ gaɖo eŋu.
28 And he answered a person from the people and he said certainly he made to swear an oath father your the people saying [be] cursed the person who he will eat food this day and it was weary the people.
Ke ame aɖe gblɔ nɛ be fofoa, Saul, ƒo fi de ame sia ame si aɖu nane gbe ma gbe la, evɔ dɔwuame na ame sia ame gbɔdzɔ hafi.
29 And he said Jonathan he has troubled father my the land see please that they brightened eyes my for I tasted a little of honey this.
Yonatan gblɔ be, “Se sesẽ kae nye esi fofonye de na ameawo? Se sia agblẽ nu le mía ŋu boŋ. Mikpɔ ale si ŋusẽ ɖo menye esi meno anyitsi sue sia ɖa!
30 Indeed? for certainly [if] it had eaten this day the people any of [the] plunder of enemies its which it found for now not it has been great defeat among the Philistines.
Nenye ɖe woɖe mɔ be ameawo naɖu nu si wokpɔ le futɔwo dome la, anye ne míagate ŋu awu futɔ gbogbo aɖewo wu esia gɔ̃ hã.”
31 And they defeated on the day that the Philistines from Micmash Aijalon towards and it was weary the people exceedingly.
Ke wotsɔ dɔwuame nya Filistitɔwo eye wowu wo tso Mikmas yi Aiyalon ke, le esime woƒe ɖeɖiteameŋu nu ganɔ sesẽm ɖe edzi.
32 (And it rushed *Q(K)*) the people to (the plunder *Q(K)*) and they took sheep and cattle and [the] young of cattle and they slaughtered [them] [the] ground towards and it ate [them] the people with the blood.
Gbe ma gbe fiẽ la, wowu alẽ, nyi kple nyivi siwo woha le aʋa la me eye woɖu woƒe lã kple ʋua katã nenema.
33 And people told to Saul saying there! the people [are] sinning to Yahweh by eating with the blood and he said you have acted treacherously roll to me this day a stone great.
Ame aɖe gblɔ nya si dzɔ la na Saul be ameawo nɔ nu vɔ̃ wɔm ɖe Yehowa ŋu to nuɖuɖu me. Saul gblɔ be, “Nu sia mesɔ kura o! Mimli kpe gã aɖe vɛ nam
34 And he said Saul be scattered among the people and you will say to them bring near to me each one ox his and each one sheep his and you will slaughter [it] in this [place] and you will eat [it] and not you will sin to Yahweh by eating with the blood and they brought near all the people each one ox his in hand his this night and they slaughtered [it] there.
eye miagblɔ na ameawo be woahe nyiawo kple alẽwo ava wu le afi sia eye woatsyɔ ʋu le wo me ale be womawɔ nu vɔ̃ ɖe Yehowa ŋu to ʋuɖuɖu me o.” Ale ame ɖe sia ɖe kplɔ eƒe nyi ɖe asi yi le zã ma me eye wowu wo le afi ma.
35 And he built Saul an altar to Yahweh it he began to build an altar to Yahweh.
Saul ɖi eƒe vɔsamlekpui gbãtɔ na Yehowa.
36 And he said Saul let us go down after [the] Philistines - night and let us plunder them - until [the] light of the morning and not we will leave among them anyone and people said all the good in view your do. And he said the priest let us draw near here to God.
Le esia megbe la, Saul gblɔ be, “Mina míanya Filistitɔwo to zã blibo la me eye míawu ame siwo susɔ la dometɔ ɖe sia ɖe.” Ameawo lɔ̃ ɖe edzi be, “Enyo; wɔ nu sia nu si dze ŋuwò.” Ke nunɔla la gblɔ be, “Mina míabia Mawu gbã.”
37 And he enquired Saul by God ¿ will I go down after [the] Philistines ¿ will you give them in [the] hand of Israel and not he answered him on the day that.
Ale Saul bia Mawu be, “Ɖe míayi Filistitɔwo nyanya dzia? Ɖe nàkpe ɖe mía ŋu míaɖu wo dzia?” Ke Yehowa meɖo nya aɖeke ŋu le zã blibo la me o.
38 And he said Saul draw near here O all [the] corners of the people and know and see how? has it happened the sin this this day.
Ale Saul gblɔ na kplɔlawo be, “Ame aɖe wɔ nu vɔ̃ ɖe Mawu ŋu, ele be míadze si nu vɔ̃ si míewɔ egbe.
39 For [by] [the] life of Yahweh who delivers Israel for except there it [is] in Jonathan son my for certainly he will die and not [was] answering him any of all the people.
Mele atam kam na Mawu ame si ɖe Israel dukɔ la be, nenye nye ŋutɔ vinye, Yonatan kurae wɔ nu vɔ̃ sia hã la aku kokoko.” Ke womekpɔ ame si wɔ nu vɔ̃ la o.
40 And he said to all Israel you you will be to a side one and I and Jonathan son my we will be to a side one and they said the people to Saul the good in view your do.
Tete Saul gblɔ na Israelviwo katã be, “Mitsi tsitre ɖe afi ma ke nye kple vinye Yonatan míatsi tsitre ɖe afii.” Ameawo ɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Wɔ nu sia nu si ke nyo na wo.”
41 And he said Saul to Yahweh [the] God of Israel (why? not you did answer servant your the day if there in me or in Jonathan son my the iniquity this Yahweh [the] God [of] Israel give! Urim and if is it the iniquity this in people your [of] Israel *X*) give! Thummim and he was taken by lot Jonathan and Saul and the people they went out.
Ale Saul do gbe ɖa na Yehowa, Israel ƒe Mawu la be. “Nu ka ŋuti mètɔ na wò dɔla egbea o? Ne vodada la le menye alo vinye, Yonatan me la, ekema ɖo eŋu na mí to Urim dzi, gake nenye Israelviwo mee agɔdzedze la le la, tɔ na mí to Tumim dzi.” Ale wodzidze nu ɖe Yonatan kple Saul dzi eye wòdze wo dzi ale womebu fɔ ameawo o.
42 And he said Saul make fall between me and between Jonathan son my and he was taken by lot Jonathan.
Azɔ Saul gblɔ be, “Midzidze nu ɖe nye kple Yonatan dzi.” Esi woagadzidze nua la, edze Yonatan dzi.
43 And he said Saul to Jonathan tell! to me what? have you done and he told to him Jonathan and he said certainly I tasted with [the] end of the staff which [was] in hand my a little of honey here I I will die.
Saul gblɔ na Yonatan be, “Vinye, nu kae nèwɔ?” Yonatan gblɔ be, “Meɖɔ anyitsi sue aɖe kpɔ, sue aɖe si nɔ nye atikplɔ ŋu koe meɖuɖɔ, ke azɔ la medze na ku.”
44 And he said Saul thus may he do God and thus may he add for certainly you will die O Jonathan.
Saul gblɔ be, “Ɛ̃, Yonatan, ele be nàku, Mawu neƒom ƒu anyi maku ne womewu wò ɖe nu sia ta o.”
45 And it said the people to Saul ¿ Jonathan - will he die who he has done the deliverance great this in Israel far be it [by] [the] life of Yahweh if it will fall one of [the] hair[s] of head his [the] ground towards for with God he has acted the day this and they redeemed the people Jonathan and not he died.
Ke aʋawɔlawo ɖo eŋu be, “Yonatan, ame si ɖe Israel egbea nakua? Gbeɖe! Míeka atam kple Mawu ƒe agbe be ame aɖeke maka asi Yonatan ƒe taɖa ɖeka pɛ gɔ̃ hã ŋu o elabena Mawu wɔ eŋu dɔ hewɔ nukunu triakɔ aɖe egbe.” Ale ameawo xɔ na Yonatan.
46 And he went up Saul from after [the] Philistines and [the] Philistines they went to own place their.
Saul na aʋawɔlawo gbugbɔ eye Filistitɔwo trɔ yi aƒe.
47 And Saul he had taken the kingship over Israel and he waged war all around - against all enemies his against Moab - and against [the] people of Ammon and against Edom and against [the] kings of Zobah and against the Philistines and in every where he turned he acted wickedly.
Esi Saul zu fia ɖe Israel dzi la, ewɔ aʋa kple woƒe futɔwo le akpa sia akpa dzi: Moabtɔwo, Amonitɔwo, Edomtɔwo, Zoba fiawo kple Filistitɔwo siaa. Afi sia afi si ke wotrɔ ɖo la, eɖua wo dzi vevie.
48 And he did strength and he defeated Amalek and he delivered Israel from [the] hand of [those who] plundered it.
Ewɔ aʋa kalẽtɔe, ɖu Amalekitɔwo dzi eye wòɖe Israel tso ame siwo katã ha wo la si me.
49 And they were [the] sons of Saul Jonathan and Ishvi and Malki-Shua and [the] name of [the] two daughters his [the] name of the firstborn [was] Merab and [the] name of the young [one] [was] Michal.
Viŋutsu etɔ̃, Yonatan, Isvi kple Malki Sua kple vinyɔnu eve, Merab kple Mixal nɔ Saul si.
50 And [the] name of [the] wife of Saul [was] Ahinoam [the] daughter of Ahimaaz and [the] name of [the] commander of army his [was] Abner [the] son of Ner [the] uncle of Saul.
Saul srɔ̃e nye Ahinoam, Ahimaaz vinyɔnu. Eƒe aʋafiae nye Abner, etɔɖia Ner viŋutsu
51 And Kish [was] [the] father of Saul and Ner [the] father of Abner [was] [the] son of Abiel.
Saul fofo, Kis kple Abner fofo, Ner wonye Abiel viŋutsuwo.
52 And it was the war severe on [the] Philistines all [the] days of Saul and he saw Saul every man mighty and every son of strength and he gathered him to himself.
Israel wɔ aʋa kple Filistitɔwo edziedzi le Saul ƒe agbenɔɣi. Ne Saul kpɔ ɖekakpui sesẽ kalẽtɔ aɖe ko la, ehenɛ dea eƒe aʋakɔ la me.
