< 1 Samuel 10 >

1 And he took Samuel [the] flask of oil and he poured [it] on head his and he kissed him and he said ¿ In-deed he has anointed you Yahweh (to ruler over people his over of Israel and you she will retain among a people Yahweh and you you deliver him from [the] hand of enemies its from round about and this of you [will be] the sign he has anointed you Yahweh *X*) over inheritance his to ruler.
And Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured [it] on his head, and kissed him, and said to him, Has not the Lord anointed thee for a ruler over his people, over Israel? and thou shalt rule among the people of the Lord, and thou shalt save them out of the hand of their enemies; and this [shall be] the sign to thee that the Lord has anointed thee for a ruler over his inheritance.
2 When going you this day from with me and you will find two men near [the] tomb of Rachel in [the] territory of Benjamin at Zelzah and they will say to you they have been found the she-asses which you went to seek and there! he has abandoned father your [the] matter of the she-asses and he is anxious to you saying what? will I do for son my.
[As soon] as thou shalt have departed this day from me, thou shalt find two men by the burial-place of Rachel on the mount of Benjamin, exulting greatly; and they shall say to thee, The asses are found which ye went to seek; and, behold, thy father has given up the matter of the asses, and he is anxious for you, saying, What shall I do for my son?
3 And you will pass on from there and beyond and you will come to [the] great tree of Tabor and they will find you there three men going up to God Beth-el one [will be] carrying - three kids and one [will be] carrying three round loaves of bread and one [will be] carrying a skin of wine.
And thou shalt depart thence, and shalt go beyond that as far as the oak of Thabor, and thou shalt find there three men going up to God to Baethel, one bearing three kids, and another bearing three vessels of bread, and another bearing a bottle of wine.
4 And they will ask of you to welfare and they will give to you two bread[s] and you will take [them] from hand their.
And they shall ask thee how thou doest, and shall give thee two presents of bread, and thou shall receive them of their hand.
5 After thus you will come Gibeah of God where [are] there [the] garrisons of [the] Philistines and it will be when coming you there the city and you will meet a company of prophets coming down from the high place and [will be] before them lyre and tambourine and flute and harp and they [will be] prophesying.
And afterward thou shalt go to the hill of God, where is the encampment of the Philistines; there [is] Nasib the Philistine: an it shall come to pass when ye shall have entered into the city, that thou shalt meet a band of prophets coming down from the Bama; and before them will be lutes, and a drum, and a pipe, and a harp, and they shall prophesy.
6 And it will rush on you [the] spirit of Yahweh and you will prophesy with them and you will be changed into a man another.
And the Spirit of the Lord shall come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man.
7 And it will be that (they will come *Q(k)*) the signs these to you do for yourself [that] which it will find hand your for God [is] with you.
And it shall come to pass when these signs shall come upon thee, —[then] do thou whatsoever thy hand shall find, because God [is] with thee.
8 And you will go down before me Gilgal and there! I [am] about to come down to you to offer up burnt offerings to sacrifice sacrifices of peace offerings seven days may you wait until come I to you and I will make known to you [that] which you will do.
And thou shalt go down in front of Galgal, and behold, I come down to thee to offer a whole-burnt-offering and peace-offerings: seven days shalt thou wait until I shall come to thee, and I will make known to thee what thou shalt do.
9 And it was when turned he shoulder his to go from with Samuel and he changed for him God a heart another and they came all the signs these on the day that.
And it came to pass when he turned his back to depart from Samuel, God gave him another heart; and all these signs came to pass in that day.
10 And they came there Gibeah towards and there! a company of prophets to meet him and it rushed on him [the] spirit of God and he prophesied in midst of them.
And he comes thence to the hill, and behold a band of prophets opposite to him; and the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied in the midst of them.
11 And it was every [one who] knew him from yesterday three days ago and they saw and there! with prophets [he is] prophesying and it said the people each to neighbor his what? this has it happened to [the] son of Kish ¿ also [is] Saul among the prophets.
And all that had known him before came, and saw, and behold, he [was] in the midst of the prophets: and the people said every one to his neighbour, What [is] this that has happened to the son of Kis? [is] Saul also among the prophets?
12 And he answered a man from there and he said and who? [is] father their there-fore it became a proverb ¿ also [is] Saul among the prophets.
And one of them answered and said, And who [is] his father? and therefore it became a proverb, [Is] Saul also among the prophets?
13 And he finished from prophesying and he came the high place.
And he ceased prophesying, and comes to the hill.
14 And he said [the] uncle of Saul to him and to servant his where? did you go and he said to seek the she-asses and we saw that there not and we went to Samuel.
And his kinsman said to him and to his servant, Whither went ye? and they said, To seek the asses; and we saw that they were lost, and we went in to Samuel.
15 And he said [the] uncle of Saul tell! please to me what? did he say to you Samuel.
And his kinsman said to Saul, Tell me, I pray thee, What did Samuel say to thee?
16 And he said Saul to uncle his certainly he told to us that they had been found the she-asses and [the] word of the kingship not he told to him which he had said Samuel.
And Saul said to his kinsman, he verily told me that the asses were found. But the matter of the kingdom he told him not.
17 And he called together Samuel the people to Yahweh Mizpah.
And Samuel summoned all the people before the Lord to Massephath.
18 And he said - to [the] people of Israel. Thus he says Yahweh [the] God of Israel I I brought up Israel from Egypt and I delivered you from [the] hand of Egypt and from [the] hand of all the kingdoms that were oppressing you.
And he said to the children of Israel, Thus has the Lord God of Israel spoken, saying, I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, and I rescued you out of the hand of Pharao king of Egypt, and out of all the kingdoms that afflicted you.
19 And you this day you have rejected God your who he [is] a deliverer of you from all calamities your and troubles your and you have said to him for a king you will appoint over us and therefore present yourselves before Yahweh to tribes your and to families your.
And ye have this day rejected God, who is himself your Deliverer out of all your evils and afflictions; and ye said, Nay, but thou shalt set a king over us: and now stand before the Lord according to your tribes, and according to your families.
20 And he brought near Samuel all [the] tribes of Israel and it was taken by lot [the] tribe of Benjamin.
And Samuel brought nigh all the tribes of Israel, and the tribe of Benjamin is taken by lot.
21 And he brought near [the] tribe of Benjamin (to families its *Q(K)*) and it was taken by lot [the] clan of Matri and he was taken by lot Saul [the] son of Kish and they sought him and not he was found.
And he brings near the tribe of Benjamin by families, and the family of Mattari is taken by lot: and they bring near the family of Mattari, man by man, and Saul the son of Kis is taken; and he sought him, but he was not found.
22 And they enquired again by Yahweh ¿ has he come yet here [the] man. And he said Yahweh here! he [is] hiding himself into the baggage.
And Samuel asked yet again of the Lord, Will the man come hither? and the Lord said, Behold, he is hid among the stuff.
23 And they ran and they took him from there and he presented himself in among the people and he was tall more than all the people from shoulder his and up-wards.
And he ran and took him thence, and he set him in the midst of the people; and he was higher than all the people by his shoulders and upwards.
24 And he said Samuel to all the people ¿ do you see [the one] whom he has chosen him Yahweh for there not [is] like him among all the people and they shouted all the people and they said may he live the king.
And Samuel said to all the people, Have ye seen whom the Lord has chosen to himself, that there is none like to him among you all? And all the people took notice, and said, Let the king live!
25 And he spoke Samuel to the people [the] right[s] of the kingship and he wrote in the book and he set [it] before Yahweh and he sent away Samuel all the people each man to own house his.
And Samuel told the people the manner of the king, and wrote it in a book, and set it before the Lord: and Samuel sent away all the people, and each went to his place.
26 And also Saul he went to own house his Gibeah towards and they went with him the army which he had touched God heart their.
And Saul departed to his house to Gabaa; and there went with Saul mighty men whose hearts God had touched.
27 And sons of worthlessness they said what? will he deliver us this one and they despised him and not they brought to him a gift and he was like [one who] kept silent.
But evil men said, Who [is] this man [that] shall save us? and they despised him, and brought him no gifts.
