< 1 Kings 3 >

1 And he became son-in-law Solomon with Pharaoh [the] king of Egypt and he took [the] daughter of Pharaoh and he brought her to [the] city of David until finished he to build house his and [the] house of Yahweh and [the] wall of Jerusalem all around.

2 Only the people [were] sacrificing at the high places for not it had been built a house for [the] name of Yahweh until the days those.

3 And he loved Solomon Yahweh to walk in [the] statutes of David father his only at the high places he [was] sacrificing and making smoke.

4 And he went the king Gibeon towards to sacrifice there for that [was] the high place great a thousand burnt offerings he offered up Solomon on the altar that.

5 At Gibeon he appeared Yahweh to Solomon in a dream the night and he said God ask what? will I give to you.
Gibeon ah oh naah qum amang ah Solomon khaeah Angraeng angphong pae. Sithaw mah hmuen kang paek hanah na hni ah, tiah a naa.
6 And he said Solomon you you have done with servant your David father my covenant loyalty great just as he walked before you in faithfulness and in righteousness and in uprightness of heart with you and you have kept to him the covenant loyalty great this and you have given to him a son [who] sits on throne his as the day this.
Solomon mah na tamna kampa David khaeah, kalen parai na tahmenhaih to nam tuengsak boeh; anih loe na hmaa ah loktang ah caeh moe, toenghaih, poektoenghaih palung hoiah caeh; anih khaeah kalen parai tahmenhaih na tawnh poe, vaihni roe ah, anih ih angraeng tangkhang nuiah anghnut hanah a capa maeto na paek boeh.
7 And now O Yahweh God my you you have made king servant your in place of David father my and I [am] a lad young not I know to go out and to come.
Vaihiah, Aw ka Angraeng Sithaw, kampa David zuengah na tamna to siangpahrang ah na ohsak boeh; toe kai loe nawkta ah ka oh vop pongah, kawbangmaw tacawt moe, ka kun han, tito ka panoek ai.
8 And servant your [is] in among people your which you have chosen a people numerous which not it will be numbered and not it will be counted from multitude.
Na tamna kai loe na qoih ih, kapop parai kaminawk, kroek laek ai kaminawk salakah ka oh.
9 And you will give to servant your a heart [which] listens to judge people your to distinguish between good and evil for who? is he able to judge people your massive this.
To pongah na tamna hanah, nangmah ih kaminawk uk thaihaih hoi kasae kahoih pathlaeng kophaih palungthin to na paek ah; mi mah maw hae tiah kapop nangmah ih kaminawk hae uk thai tih? tiah a naa.
10 And it was good the thing in [the] eyes of [the] Lord that he had asked Solomon the thing this.
Solomon mah hae hmuen to hnik pongah, Angraeng loe poeknawm.
11 And he said God to him because that you asked the thing this and not you asked for yourself days many and not you asked for yourself wealth and not you asked [the] life of enemies your and you asked for yourself to understand to hear judgment.
Sithaw mah anih khaeah, Nang loe nangmah hanah hinglung sawkhaih, angraenghaih hoi misanawk hum thaihaih to hni ai ah, panoek thaihaih hoi lok takroek thaihaih to nang hnik pongah,
12 Here! I do according to words your here! - I give to you a heart wise and understanding that like you not anyone has been before you and after you not anyone will arise like you.
khenah, nang hnik ih lok baktih toengah ka sak boeh; palunghahaih hoi panoek thaihaih palung to kang paek boeh; canghnii ah nang baktih kami mi doeh om ai, hmabang tue ah doeh om mak ai.
13 And also [that] which not you asked for I give to you both wealth as well as honor that not he has been like you anyone among the kings all days your.
To pacoengah nang hni ai ih hmuen, angraenghaih hoi pakoehhaih doeh kang paek bae vop; na hing thung nang hoi kanghmong siangpahrang mi doeh om mak ai.
14 And if - you will walk in ways my to keep statutes my and commandments my just as he walked David father your and I will make long days your.
Nampa David mah pazui ih loklam baktiah, ka loklam to na pazui moe, ka lok takroekhaih hoi ka paek ih loknawk to na pazui nahaeloe, na hinglung kang sawksak han, tiah a naa.
15 And he awoke Solomon and there! [it was] a dream and he went Jerusalem and he stood - before - [the] ark of [the] covenant of [the] Lord and he offered up burnt offerings and he made peace offerings and he made a feast for all servants his.
Solomon angthawk naah, khenah, amang ni, tiah panoek. Jerusalem ah a caeh moe, Angraeng ih lokkamhaih thingkhong hmaa ah angdoet pacoengah, hmai angbawnhaih hoi angdaeh angbawnhaih to a sak. Angmah ih tamnanawk boih hanah poih to a sak pae.
16 Then they came two women prostitutes to the king and they stood before him.
Tangyat zaw nongpata hnetto loe siangpahrang khaeah angzoh hoi moe, a hmaa ah angdoet hoi.
17 And she said the woman one pardon me O lord my I and the woman this [are] dwelling in a house one and I gave birth with her in the house.
Nongpata maeto mah, Aw ka angraeng, kai loe hae nongpata hoi nawnto im maeto ah ka oh; anih hoi nawnto im ah ka oh naah caa ka sak.
18 And it was on the day third of giving birth my and she gave birth also the woman this and we [were] together there not [was] a stranger with us in the house except two we [were] in the house.
Nawkta ka tapenhaih ni thumto naah, hae nongpata doeh caa a sak toeng; kaihnik khue ai ah loe, kaihnik hoi kaom kami kalah mi doeh hae im ah om ai.
19 And he died [the] son of the woman this night that she lay on him.
Khoving naah anih loe a caa to angsong thuih maat pongah, a caa to duek ving.
20 And she rose in [the] middle of the night and she took son my from beside me and maidservant your [was] sleeping and she made lie him in bosom her and son her dead she made lie in bosom my.
To pongah anih mah qum taning ah angthawk moe, na tamna kai ka iih li naah, ka taengah angsong ka capa to a lak ving moe, angmah taengah a pasongh, a capa kadueh to kai taengah a suek.
21 And I rose in the morning to suckle son my and there! he had died and I looked carefully to him in the morning and there! not it was son my whom I had borne.
Khawnbang khawnthaw ah ka caa tahnu panaek hanah, kang thawk naah loe, khenah, anih loe duek ving boeh; khawnbang khodai ah ka khet het naah, anih loe ka tapen ih ka caa ah om ai, tiah a naa.
22 And she said the woman other In-deed [is] son my the living one and [is] son your the dead [one] and this [one] [was] saying In-deed [is] son your the dead [one] and [is] son my the living one and they spoke before the king.
Kalah nongpata maeto mah, To tiah na ai ni; ka hing loe kai ih capa ni, kadueh hae ni nang ih capa, tiah thuih. Hmaloe ih nongpata mah, To tiah na ai ni; kadueh loe nang ih capa ni, kahing hae ni kai ih capa, tiah thuih: nihnik loe siangpahrang hmaa ah to tiah lok angaek hoi.
23 And he said the king this [one] [is] saying this son my [is] the living one and son your [is] the dead [one] and this [one] [is] saying In-deed son your [is] the dead [one] and son my [is] the living one.
Siangpahrang mah, Hae nongpata mah, Ka capa loe hing moe, na capa loe duek, tiah thuih; kalah nongpata maeto mah doeh, To tiah na ai ni; kadueh loe na capa ni, kahing hae ni ka capa, tiah thuih.
24 And he said the king take for me a sword and they brought the sword before the king.
Siangpahrang mah, Sumsen maeto na sin oh, tiah a naa. To pongah siangpahrang hmaa ah sumsen to sin pae o.
25 And he said the king cut the child living into two and give half to one and half to one.
To naah siangpahrang mah, Hae ih kahing nawkta hae hnetto ah takroek ah, ahap to nongpata maeto han paek ah loe, ahap to kalah nongpata maeto hanah paek ah, tiah a naa.
26 And she said the woman whom [was] son her the living one to the king for they had grown warm compassion her on son her and she said - pardon me O lord my give to her the child living and certainly may not you kill him and this [one] [was] saying neither to me nor to you not he will belong cut.

27 And he answered the king and he said give to her the child living and certainly not you must kill him she [is] mother his.
To pacoengah siangpahrang mah, Kahing nawkta to hum o hmah; hmaloe ih nongpata hanah kahing nawkta to paek oh; nawkta ih amno loe anih ni, tiah a naa.
28 And they heard all Israel the judgment which he had judged the king and they were afraid of the king for they saw that [the] wisdom of God [was] within him to do justice.
Siangpahrang lok takroekhaih to Israel kaminawk boih mah thaih o; katoengah lok takroek thaih hanah, Sithaw palunghahaih a nuiah oh, tiah a hnuk o naah, nihcae mah siangpahrang to zit o.
