1 And they drew near [the] days of David to die and he commanded Solomon son his saying.
Dawid rebɛwuo no, ɔde adwuma hyɛɛ Salomo nsa sɛ:
2 I [am] about to go in [the] way of all the earth and you will be strong and you will become a man.
“Merekɔ baabi a ɛsɛ sɛ da bi ɔteasefoɔ biara kɔ, enti yɛ den na kyerɛ wo mmaninyɛ,
3 And you will keep [the] charge of - Yahweh God your to walk in ways his to keep statutes his commandments his and judgments his and testimonies his according to [what] is written in [the] law of Moses so that you may cause to prosper all that you will do and every where you will turn there.
na yɛ deɛ Awurade, wo Onyankopɔn, hwehwɛ sɛ woyɛ, nante nʼakwan mu, na di ne mmara ne nʼahyɛdeɛ so sɛdeɛ wɔatwerɛ wɔ Mose mmara no mu no, sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a, wobɛkɔ so wɔ biribiara a wobɛyɛ mu ne baabiara a wobɛkɔ nso.
4 So that he may establish Yahweh word his which he spoke on me saying if they will guard descendants your way their to walk before me in faithfulness with all heart their and with all being their saying not it will be cut off to you a man from on [the] throne of Israel.
Sɛ woyɛ yei a na Awurade bɛdi ne bɔ a ɔhyɛɛ me no so sɛ, ‘Sɛ wʼasefoɔ hwɛ wɔn asetena, na wɔfiri wɔn akoma ne wɔn kra nyinaa mu nante nokorɛ mu wɔ mʼanim a, wɔn mu baako bɛtena Israel ahennwa no so.’
5 And also you you know [that] which he did to me Joab [the] son of Zeruiah [that] which he did to [the] two [the] commanders of [the] armies of Israel to Abner [the] son of Ner and to Amasa [the] son of Jether and he killed them and he put blood of war in peace and he put blood of war on belt his which [was] on loins his and on sandal[s] his which [was] on feet his.

6 And you will act according to wisdom your and not you must bring down grey hair his in peace Sheol. (Sheol h7585)

7 And to [the] sons of Barzillai the Gileadite you will do loyalty and they will be among [those who] eat of table your for thus they drew near to me when fled I from before Absalom brother your.
“Na yɛ Barsilai a ɔfiri Gilead no mmammarima adɔeɛ, na ma wɔnka wɔn a wɔdidi wɔ wo didipono so no ho. Ɛberɛ a medwane firii wo nuabarima Absalom ho no, wɔyɛɛ me adɔeɛ.
8 And here! [is] with you Shimei [the] son of Gera [the] Ben-jaminite from Bahurim and he he cursed me a curse grievous on [the] day went I Mahanaim and he he came down to meet me the Jordan and I swore to him by Yahweh saying if I will put to death you by the sword.
“Kae Gera Benyaminni a ɔfiri Bahurim no babarima Simei. Ɔdomee me dendeenden, da a meredwane akɔ Mahanaim no. Na ɔbɛhyiaa me wɔ Yordan no, mede Awurade edin kaa ntam sɛ, Merenkum no.
9 And therefore may not you leave unpunished him for [are] a man wise you and you will know [that] which you will do to him and you will bring down grey hair his in blood Sheol. (Sheol h7585)

10 And he lay down David with ancestors his and he was buried in [the] city of David.

11 And the days which he reigned David over Israel [were] forty year[s] in Hebron he reigned seven years and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years.

12 And Solomon he sat on [the] throne of David father his and it was established reign his exceedingly.

13 And he came Adonijah [the] son of Haggith to Bath-sheba [the] mother of Solomon and she said ¿ peace [are] coming you and he said peace.
Na Hagit babarima Adoniya kɔɔ Salomo ne maame Batseba nkyɛn. Batseba bisaa no sɛ, “Wobaa no asomdwoeɛ so anaa?” Ɔbuaa no sɛ, “Ɛyɛ asomdwoeɛ so.”
14 And he said a word [belongs] to me to you and she said speak.
Na ɔka kaa ho sɛ, “Mepɛ sɛ woyɛ me adɔeɛ bi.” Na Batseba bisaa sɛ, “Adɔeɛ bɛn.”
15 And he said you you know that to me it belonged the kingship and on me they set all Israel faces their to become king and it has turned round the kingship and it has belonged to brother my for from Yahweh it belonged to him.
Adoniya kaa sɛ, “Sɛdeɛ wonim no, na ahemman no yɛ me dea. Na Israel nyinaa hwɛ me kwan sɛ wɔn ɔhene. Nanso, nneɛma sesaeɛ, na ahemman no kɔɔ me nuabarima nkyɛn, ɛfiri sɛ, Awurade pɛ no saa.
16 And now a petition one I [am] asking from with you may not you turn away face my and she said to him speak.
Seesei, adeɛ baako na mepɛ sɛ mebisa wo. Mfa nkame me.” Ɔkaa sɛ, “Wotumi bisa me.”
17 And he said speak please to Solomon the king for not he will turn away face your so he may give to me Abishag the Shunammite to a wife.
Na ɔtoaa so sɛ, “Kɔbisa ɔhene Salomo ma me, na ɔremfa dekodeɛ no nkame wo. Bisa no na ɔmfa Abisag Sunamni no mma me sɛ me yere.”
18 And she said Bath-sheba good I I will speak on you to the king.
Na Batseba buaa sɛ, “Ɛyɛ, mɛka ho asɛm akyerɛ ɔhene ama wo.”
19 And she went Bath-sheba to the king Solomon to speak to him on Adonijah and he rose the king to meet her and he bowed down to her and he sat on throne his and he placed a throne for [the] mother of the king and she sat to right [hand] his.
Enti Batseba kɔɔ ɔhene Salomo nkyɛn sɛ ɔrekɔkasa ama Adoniya. Ɔhene no sɔree sɛ ɔrebɛhyia no, bɔɔ ne mu ase ansa na ɔretena nʼahennwa so. Na ɔhyɛɛ sɛ wɔmfa adwa mmrɛ ɔhene maame, na ɔtenaa ɔhene nifa so.
20 And she said a petition one small I [am] asking from with you may not you turn away face my and he said to her the king ask O mother my for not I will turn away face your.
Ɔka kyerɛɛ ɔhene sɛ, “Mewɔ adeɛ ketewaa bi bisa wo, na mfa nkame me.” Ɔhene no buaa no sɛ, “Bisa me, me maame. Meyɛ ama wo.”
21 And she said let it be given Abishag the Shunammite to Adonijah brother your to a wife.
Enti, ɔkaa sɛ, “Ma wɔmfa Sunamni Abisag mma wo nuabarima Adoniya awadeɛ.”
22 And he answered the king Solomon and he said to mother his and why? [are] you asking Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah and ask for him the kingship for he [is] brother my old more than me and for him and for Abiathar the priest and for Joab [the] son of Zeruiah.
Ɔhene Salomo bisaa ne maame sɛ, “Adɛn enti na wopɛ sɛ Adoniya ware Sunamni Abisag? Ɛnneɛ, sɛ wobɛbisa ahemman nso ama no. Wonim sɛ ɔyɛ me nua panin na ɔsɔfoɔ Abiatar ne Seruia babarima Yoab nso boa no!”
23 And he swore an oath the king Solomon by Yahweh saying thus may he do to me God and thus may he add if by own life his he has spoken Adonijah the word this.
Na ɔhene Salomo de Awurade edin kaa ntam sɛ, “Sɛ Adoniya amfa ne nkwa antwa saa abisadeɛ yi so a, Onyankopɔn ne me nni no denden so pa ara.
24 And therefore [by] [the] life of Yahweh who he appointed me (and he made sit me *Q(k)*) on [the] throne of David father my and who he has made for me a house just as he spoke that this day he will be put to death Adonijah.
Na seesei deɛ, mmerɛ dodoɔ a Awurade te ase yi, ɔno a watim mʼase wɔ mʼagya Dawid ahennwa so, na wabɔ me fie ahennie mu nnidisoɔ atenaseɛ ama me, sɛdeɛ ɔhyɛɛ me bɔ no, Adoniya deɛ, twa ara na ɛtwa sɛ ɔwu ɛnnɛ yi ara.”
25 And he sent the king Solomon by [the] hand of Benaiah [the] son of Jehoiada and he fell on him and he died.
Enti, Salomo hyɛɛ Yehoiada babarima Benaia sɛ ɔnkum no, na ɔkumm Adoniya.
26 And to Abiathar the priest he said the king Anathoth go to fields your for [are] a man of death you and on the day this not I will put to death you for you carried [the] ark of [the] Lord Yahweh before David father my and for you were afflicted in all that he was afflicted father my.
Na ɔhene no ka kyerɛɛ ɔsɔfoɔ Abiatar sɛ, “Sane kɔ wo kurom Anatot. Wofata sɛ wowuo, nanso merenku wo seesei, ɛfiri sɛ, wosoaa Awurade Otumfoɔ Adaka no maa mʼagya, na wo ne no nyinaa na mohunuu amane wɔ nʼabɛbrɛsɛ nyinaa mu.”
27 And he drove out Solomon Abiathar from being a priest of Yahweh to fulfill [the] word of Yahweh which he had spoken on [the] house of Eli in Shiloh.
Enti, Salomo worɔɔ Abiatar atadeɛ sɛ ɔsɔfoɔ, nam so dii mmara a Awurade hyɛɛ wɔ Silo fa Eli asefoɔ ho no so.
28 And the report it came to Joab for Joab he had turned aside after Adonijah and after Absalom not he had turned aside and he fled Joab to [the] tent of Yahweh and he took hold on [the] horns of the altar.
Ɛwom, ahyɛaseɛ no na ɔnni Absalom akyi, nanso Yoab de ne ho kɔdɔm Adoniya adɔnyɛ no. Ɛberɛ a Yoab tee Adoniya wuo no, ɔtuu mmirika kɔɔ Awurade ntomadan kronkron no mu, na ɔkɔsosɔɔ mmɛn a ɛtuatua afɔrebukyia no ho no mu.
29 And it was told to the king Solomon that he had fled Joab to [the] tent of Yahweh and there! [he was] beside the altar and he sent Solomon Benaiah [the] son of Jehoiada saying go fall on him.
Ɛberɛ a ɔhene Salomo tee asɛm yi, ɔsomaa Yehoiada babarima Benaia sɛ ɔnkɔkum no.
30 And he went Benaiah to [the] tent of Yahweh and he said to him thus he says the king come out and he said - In-deed here I will die and he brought back Benaiah the king word saying thus he spoke Joab and thus he answered me.
Na Benaia kɔɔ Awurade ntomadan kronkron no mu kɔka kyerɛɛ Yoab sɛ, “Ɔhene se firi adi.” Nanso, Yoab buaa sɛ, “Dabi, mɛwu wɔ ha.” Enti, Benaia sane kɔɔ ɔhene no nkyɛn kɔkaa asɛm a Yoab aka no kyerɛɛ no.
31 And he said to him the king do just as he has spoken and fall on him and you will bury him and you will remove - blood of without cause which he has shed Joab from on me and from on [the] house of father my.
Ɔhene no tee asɛm a Yoab kaeɛ no, ɔka kyerɛɛ Benaia sɛ, “Yɛ deɛ ɔkaeɛ no. Ku no wɔ afɔrebukyia no ho, na sie no. Yei bɛyi adwenemherɛ mogyahwieguo ho afɔdie afiri me ne mʼagya fiefoɔ so.
32 And he will bring back Yahweh blood his on head his who he fell on two men righteous and good more than him and he killed them with the sword and father my David not he knew Abner [the] son of Ner [the] commander of [the] army of Israel and Amasa [the] son of Jether [the] commander of [the] army of Judah.
Na Awurade bɛtua no kum a ɔkumm mmarima ateneneefoɔ amapa baanu a na wɔyɛ sene no no so ka. Na mʼagya nnim Ner babarima Abner a na ɔyɛ Israel akodɔm sahene ne Yeter babarima Amasa a na ɔno nso yɛ Yuda akodɔm sahene no wuo ho hwee.
33 And they will return blood their on [the] head of Joab and on [the] head of offspring his for ever and to David and to offspring his and to house his and to throne his it will belong peace until perpetuity from with Yahweh.
Yoab ne nʼasefoɔ deɛ, saa awudie ahodoɔ yi ho afɔdie ntena wɔn so, na Awurade mma Dawid ne nʼasefoɔ ne nʼahennwa asomdwoeɛ afebɔɔ!”
34 And he went up Benaiah [the] son of Jehoiada and he fell on him and he put to death him and he was buried in own house his in the wilderness.
Enti, Yehoiada babarima Benaia sane kɔɔ ntomadan kronkron no mu, kɔkumm Yoab, na wɔsiee Yoab wɔ ne kurom wiram baabi.
35 And he put the king Benaiah [the] son of Jehoiada in place of him over the army and Zadok the priest he put the king in place of Abiathar.
Na ɔhene no yii Yehoiada babarima Benaia sɛ ɔnsi Yoab anan sɛ ɔsafohene. Na ɔyii ɔsɔfoɔ Sadok de no sii Abiatar anan.
36 And he sent the king and he summoned Shimei and he said to him build for yourself a house in Jerusalem and you will dwell there and not you must go out from there where? and where?
Ɔhene no soma ma wɔkɔfrɛɛ Simei ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Si efie wɔ Yerusalem ha na tena mu. Nanso, mfiri kuro no mu nkɔ baabiara.
37 And it will be - on [the] day going out you and you will pass over [the] wadi of Kidron certainly you will know that certainly you will die blood your it will be on own head your.

38 And he said Shimei to the king [is] good the word just as he has spoken lord my the king so he will do servant your and he dwelt Shimei in Jerusalem days many.
Na Simei buaa sɛ, “Wʼatemmuo no yɛ kronn. Biribiara a me wura ɔhene bɛhyɛ sɛ menyɛ no, mɛyɛ.” Enti, Simei tenaa Yerusalem kyɛree yie.
39 And it was from [the] end of three years and they fled two servants of Shimei to Achish [the] son of Maacah [the] king of Gath and people told to Shimei saying there! servants your [are] in Gath.

40 And he arose Shimei and he saddled donkey his and he went Gath towards to Achish to seek servants his and he went Shimei and he brought servants his from Gath.
ɔhyehyɛɛ nʼafunumu, kɔɔ Gat, kɔhwehwɛɛ wɔn. Ɔhunuu wɔn no, ɔde wɔn sane baa Yerusalem.
41 And it was told to Solomon that he had gone Shimei from Jerusalem Gath and he had returned.
Salomo tee sɛ Simei afiri Yerusalem akɔ Gat asane aba.
42 And he sent the king and he summoned Shimei and he said to him ¿ not did I make swear you by Yahweh and did I warn? you saying on [the] day going out you and you will go where? and where? certainly you will know that certainly you will die and you said to me [is] good the word I have heard.
Enti, wɔsoma ma wɔkɔfrɛɛ Simei baeɛ, na ɔbisaa no sɛ, “Mamma woanka ntam Awurade edin mu sɛ, worenkɔ baabiara, na sɛ anyɛ saa a, wobɛwu? Na wobuaa sɛ, ‘Atemmuo no yɛ kronkron; na mɛdi asɛm a woaka no so.’
43 And why? not have you kept [the] oath of Yahweh and the command which I commanded to you.
Na adɛn enti na woanni wo ntanka no so amma Awurade, na woantie me nhyɛ?”
44 And he said the king to Shimei you you know all the evil which it knows heart your which you did to David father my and he will return Yahweh evil your on head your.
Na ɔhene no ka kaa ho sɛ, “Akyinnyeɛ biara nni ho sɛ wokae amumuyɛ a woyɛɛ mʼagya, ɔhene Dawid. Awurade bɛtwe wʼaso wɔ ho.
45 And the king Solomon [will be] blessed and [the] throne of David it will be established before Yahweh until perpetuity.
Na medeɛ, mɛnya Awurade nhyira, na daa Dawid aseni atena ahennwa no so.”
46 And he commanded the king Benaiah [the] son of Jehoiada and he went out and he fell on him and he died and the kingdom it was established in [the] hand of Solomon.
Na ɔhene no nhyɛ so, Yehoiada babarima Benaia faa Simei de no firii adi kɔkumm no. Enti ahemman no timiiɛ wɔ Salomo nsam.
