1 Kings 2
1 And they drew near [the] days of David to die and he commanded Solomon son his saying.
Comme le temps de sa mort approchait, David donna ses ordres à Salomon, son fils, en disant:
2 I [am] about to go in [the] way of all the earth and you will be strong and you will become a man.
« Je m'en vais par le chemin de toute la terre; montre-toi fort et sois un homme!
3 And you will keep [the] charge of - Yahweh God your to walk in ways his to keep statutes his commandments his and judgments his and testimonies his according to [what] is written in [the] law of Moses so that you may cause to prosper all that you will do and every where you will turn there.
Garde le service de Yahweh, ton Dieu, en marchant dans ses voies, en observant ses lois, ses commandements, ses ordonnances et ses préceptes, selon ce qui est écrit dans la loi de Moïse, afin que tu réussisses dans tout ce que tu feras et partout où tu te tourneras,
4 So that he may establish Yahweh word his which he spoke on me saying if they will guard descendants your way their to walk before me in faithfulness with all heart their and with all being their saying not it will be cut off to you a man from on [the] throne of Israel.
en sorte que Yahweh accomplisse sa parole qu'il a prononcée sur moi, en disant: Si tes fils prennent garde à leur voie, en marchant devant moi avec fidélité, de tout leur cœur et de toute leur âme, tu ne manqueras jamais d'un descendant assis sur le trône d'Israël.
5 And also you you know [that] which he did to me Joab [the] son of Zeruiah [that] which he did to [the] two [the] commanders of [the] armies of Israel to Abner [the] son of Ner and to Amasa [the] son of Jether and he killed them and he put blood of war in peace and he put blood of war on belt his which [was] on loins his and on sandal[s] his which [was] on feet his.
Tu sais aussi toi-même ce que m'a fait Joab, fils de Sarvia, ce qu'il a fait aux deux chefs des armées d'Israël, à Abner, fils de Ner, et à Amasa, fils de Jéther: il les a tués, versant pendant la paix le sang de la guerre, et mettant le sang de la guerre sur la ceinture qu'il avait aux reins et sur la chaussure qu'il avait aux pieds.
6 And you will act according to wisdom your and not you must bring down grey hair his in peace Sheol. (Sheol h7585)
Tu agiras selon ta sagesse, et tu ne laisseras pas ses cheveux blancs descendre en paix au séjour des morts. (Sheol h7585)
7 And to [the] sons of Barzillai the Gileadite you will do loyalty and they will be among [those who] eat of table your for thus they drew near to me when fled I from before Absalom brother your.
Mais aux fils de Berzellaï le Galaadite tu montreras de la bienveillance, et ils seront de ceux qui mangent à ta table; car c'est ainsi qu'ils se sont approchés de moi lorsque je fuyais devant Absalom, ton frère.
8 And here! [is] with you Shimei [the] son of Gera [the] Ben-jaminite from Bahurim and he he cursed me a curse grievous on [the] day went I Mahanaim and he he came down to meet me the Jordan and I swore to him by Yahweh saying if I will put to death you by the sword.
Voici que tu as près de toi Séméï, fils de Géra, Benjamite, de Bahurim. Il a proféré contre moi des malédictions violentes le jour où j'allais à Mahanaïm. Mais comme il descendit à ma rencontre vers le Jourdain, je lui jurai par Yahweh, en disant: Je ne te ferai point mourir par l'épée.
9 And therefore may not you leave unpunished him for [are] a man wise you and you will know [that] which you will do to him and you will bring down grey hair his in blood Sheol. (Sheol h7585)
Et maintenant, tu ne le laisseras pas impuni; car tu es un homme sage, et tu sais comment tu dois le traiter; c'est dans le sang que tu feras descendre ses cheveux blancs au séjour des morts. » (Sheol h7585)
10 And he lay down David with ancestors his and he was buried in [the] city of David.
David se coucha avec ses pères, et il fut enterré dans la cité de David.
11 And the days which he reigned David over Israel [were] forty year[s] in Hebron he reigned seven years and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years.
Le temps que David régna sur Israël fut de quarante ans: il régna sept ans à Hébron, et il régna trente-trois ans à Jérusalem.
12 And Solomon he sat on [the] throne of David father his and it was established reign his exceedingly.
Et Salomon s'assit sur le trône de David, son père, et son règne fut bien affermi.
13 And he came Adonijah [the] son of Haggith to Bath-sheba [the] mother of Solomon and she said ¿ peace [are] coming you and he said peace.
Adonias, fils de Haggith, vint trouver Bethsabée, mère de Salomon. Elle lui dit: « Viens-tu dans une intention pacifique? » Il répondit: « Oui! dans une intention pacifique; »
14 And he said a word [belongs] to me to you and she said speak.
et il ajouta: « J'ai un mot à te dire. » Elle dit: « Parle. »
15 And he said you you know that to me it belonged the kingship and on me they set all Israel faces their to become king and it has turned round the kingship and it has belonged to brother my for from Yahweh it belonged to him.
Et il dit: « Tu sais que le royaume m'appartenait, et que tout Israël portait ses regards sur moi pour que je règne. Mais la royauté a été transférée, et elle a été donnée à mon frère, parce que Yahweh la lui avait destinée.
16 And now a petition one I [am] asking from with you may not you turn away face my and she said to him speak.
Maintenant, je te demande une seule chose; ne me rejette pas. » Elle lui répondit: « Parle. »
17 And he said speak please to Solomon the king for not he will turn away face your so he may give to me Abishag the Shunammite to a wife.
Et il dit: « Dis, je te prie, au roi Salomon — car il ne te rejettera pas — de me donner pour femme Abisag, la Sunamite. »
18 And she said Bath-sheba good I I will speak on you to the king.
Bethsabée dit: « Bien! Je parlerai au roi à ton sujet. »
19 And she went Bath-sheba to the king Solomon to speak to him on Adonijah and he rose the king to meet her and he bowed down to her and he sat on throne his and he placed a throne for [the] mother of the king and she sat to right [hand] his.
Bethsabée se rendit auprès du roi Salomon pour lui parler au sujet d'Adonias. Et le roi se leva pour aller à sa rencontre et il se prosterna devant elle; il s'assit sur son trône, et fit placer un trône pour la mère du roi, et elle s'assit à sa droite.
20 And she said a petition one small I [am] asking from with you may not you turn away face my and he said to her the king ask O mother my for not I will turn away face your.
Puis elle dit: « J'ai une petite demande à te faire: ne me rejette pas. » Le roi lui dit: « Demande, ma mère, car je ne te rejetterai pas. »
21 And she said let it be given Abishag the Shunammite to Adonijah brother your to a wife.
Elle dit: « Qu'Abisag, la Sunamite, soit donnée pour femme à Adonias, ton frère. »
22 And he answered the king Solomon and he said to mother his and why? [are] you asking Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah and ask for him the kingship for he [is] brother my old more than me and for him and for Abiathar the priest and for Joab [the] son of Zeruiah.
Le roi Salomon répondit et dit à sa mère: « Pourquoi demandes-tu Abisag, la Sunamite, pour Adonias? Demande donc la royauté pour lui, — car il est mon frère aîné, — pour lui, pour le prêtre Abiathar, et pour Joab, fils de Sarvia! »
23 And he swore an oath the king Solomon by Yahweh saying thus may he do to me God and thus may he add if by own life his he has spoken Adonijah the word this.
Le roi Salomon jura par Yahweh, en disant: « Que Dieu me traite dans toute sa rigueur si ce n'est pas pour sa perte qu'Adonias a prononcé cette parole!
24 And therefore [by] [the] life of Yahweh who he appointed me (and he made sit me *Q(k)*) on [the] throne of David father my and who he has made for me a house just as he spoke that this day he will be put to death Adonijah.
Et maintenant, Yahweh est vivant! — lui qui m'a affermi et m'a fait asseoir sur le trône de David, mon père, et qui m'a édifié une maison selon qu'il l'avait dit, — aujourd'hui même, Adonias sera mis à mort! »
25 And he sent the king Solomon by [the] hand of Benaiah [the] son of Jehoiada and he fell on him and he died.
Et le roi Salomon députa Banaïas, fils de Joïadas; il frappa Adonias, qui mourut.
26 And to Abiathar the priest he said the king Anathoth go to fields your for [are] a man of death you and on the day this not I will put to death you for you carried [the] ark of [the] Lord Yahweh before David father my and for you were afflicted in all that he was afflicted father my.
Le roi dit au prêtre Abiathar: « Va-t'en à Anathoth dans tes terres, car tu mérites la mort; mais je ne te ferai pas mourir aujourd'hui, parce que tu as porté l'arche du Seigneur Yahweh devant David, mon père, et parce que tu as eu ta part dans tout ce qu'a souffert mon père. »
27 And he drove out Solomon Abiathar from being a priest of Yahweh to fulfill [the] word of Yahweh which he had spoken on [the] house of Eli in Shiloh.
Et Salomon chassa Abiathar pour qu'il ne fût plus prêtre de Yahweh, accomplissant ainsi la parole que Yahweh avait prononcée sur la maison d'Héli à Silo.
28 And the report it came to Joab for Joab he had turned aside after Adonijah and after Absalom not he had turned aside and he fled Joab to [the] tent of Yahweh and he took hold on [the] horns of the altar.
La nouvelle en parvint à Joab, car Joab avait suivi le parti d'Adonias, quoiqu'il n'eût pas suivi le parti d'Absalom. Et Joab s'enfuit au tabernacle de Yahweh, et il saisit les cornes de l'autel.
29 And it was told to the king Solomon that he had fled Joab to [the] tent of Yahweh and there! [he was] beside the altar and he sent Solomon Benaiah [the] son of Jehoiada saying go fall on him.
On annonça au roi Salomon que Joab s'était réfugié au tabernacle de Yahweh et qu'il était auprès de l'autel; et Salomon envoya Banaïas, fils de Joïadas, en lui disant: « Va, frappe-le. »
30 And he went Benaiah to [the] tent of Yahweh and he said to him thus he says the king come out and he said - In-deed here I will die and he brought back Benaiah the king word saying thus he spoke Joab and thus he answered me.
Arrivé au tabernacle de Yahweh, Banaïas dit à Joab: « Ainsi parle le roi: Sors. » Mais il répondit: « Non! je mourrai ici. » Banaïas rapporta cette réponse au roi, en disant: « C'est ainsi qu'a parlé Joab, c'est ainsi qu'il m'a répondu. »
31 And he said to him the king do just as he has spoken and fall on him and you will bury him and you will remove - blood of without cause which he has shed Joab from on me and from on [the] house of father my.
Et le roi dit à Banaïas: « Fais comme il a dit, frappe-le et enterre-le; tu ôteras ainsi de dessus moi et de dessus la maison de mon père le sang que Joab a répandu sans raison.
32 And he will bring back Yahweh blood his on head his who he fell on two men righteous and good more than him and he killed them with the sword and father my David not he knew Abner [the] son of Ner [the] commander of [the] army of Israel and Amasa [the] son of Jether [the] commander of [the] army of Judah.
Yahweh fera retomber son sang sur sa tête, lui qui a frappé deux hommes plus justes et meilleurs que lui, et qui les a tués par l'épée, sans que mon père David le sût: Abner, fils de Ner, chef de l'armée d'Israël, et Amasa, fils de Jéther, chef de l'armée de Juda.
33 And they will return blood their on [the] head of Joab and on [the] head of offspring his for ever and to David and to offspring his and to house his and to throne his it will belong peace until perpetuity from with Yahweh.
Leur sang retombera sur la tête de Joab et sur la tête de ses descendants à jamais; mais il y aura paix pour toujours, de la part de Yahweh, pour David et sa postérité, pour sa maison et son trône. »
34 And he went up Benaiah [the] son of Jehoiada and he fell on him and he put to death him and he was buried in own house his in the wilderness.
Banaïas, fils de Joïadas, monta et, ayant frappé Joab, il lui donna la mort, et il fut enterré dans sa maison, au désert.
35 And he put the king Benaiah [the] son of Jehoiada in place of him over the army and Zadok the priest he put the king in place of Abiathar.
Et le roi mit à sa place, comme chef de l'armée, Banaïas, fils de Joïadas; et le roi mit le prêtre Sadoc à la place d'Abiathar.
36 And he sent the king and he summoned Shimei and he said to him build for yourself a house in Jerusalem and you will dwell there and not you must go out from there where? and where?
Le roi envoya appeler Séméï et lui dit: « Bâtis-toi une maison à Jérusalem; tu y demeureras et tu n'en sortiras point pour aller de côté et d'autre.
37 And it will be - on [the] day going out you and you will pass over [the] wadi of Kidron certainly you will know that certainly you will die blood your it will be on own head your.
Le jour où tu sortiras et passeras le torrent de Cédron, sache bien que certainement tu mourras; ton sang sera sur ta tête. »
38 And he said Shimei to the king [is] good the word just as he has spoken lord my the king so he will do servant your and he dwelt Shimei in Jerusalem days many.
Séméï répondit au roi: « Cette parole est bonne; ce que dit mon seigneur le roi, ton serviteur le fera. » Et Séméï demeura de nombreux jours à Jérusalem.
39 And it was from [the] end of three years and they fled two servants of Shimei to Achish [the] son of Maacah [the] king of Gath and people told to Shimei saying there! servants your [are] in Gath.
Il arriva, au bout de trois ans, que deux serviteurs de Séméï s'enfuirent auprès d'Achis, fils de Maacha, roi de Geth. On le rapporta à Séméï, en disant: « Voici que tes serviteurs sont à Geth. »
40 And he arose Shimei and he saddled donkey his and he went Gath towards to Achish to seek servants his and he went Shimei and he brought servants his from Gath.
Séméï se leva et, ayant sellé son âne, il se rendit à Geth, auprès d'Achis, pour chercher ses serviteurs. Séméï s'en alla et ramena de Geth ses serviteurs.
41 And it was told to Solomon that he had gone Shimei from Jerusalem Gath and he had returned.
On rapporta à Salomon que Séméï était allé de Jérusalem à Geth et qu'il était de retour.
42 And he sent the king and he summoned Shimei and he said to him ¿ not did I make swear you by Yahweh and did I warn? you saying on [the] day going out you and you will go where? and where? certainly you will know that certainly you will die and you said to me [is] good the word I have heard.
Le roi envoya appeler Séméï et lui dit: « Ne t'avais-je pas fait jurer par Yahweh, et ne t'avais-je pas fait une injonction en disant: Le jour où tu sortiras pour aller de côté ou d'autre, sache bien que certainement tu mourras? Et ne m'as-tu pas répondu: La parole que j'ai entendue est bonne?
43 And why? not have you kept [the] oath of Yahweh and the command which I commanded to you.
Pourquoi donc n'as-tu pas observé le serment fait à Yahweh et l'ordre que je t'avais donné? »
44 And he said the king to Shimei you you know all the evil which it knows heart your which you did to David father my and he will return Yahweh evil your on head your.
Et le roi dit à Séméï: « Tu sais — ton cœur le sait — tout le mal que tu as fait à David, mon père; Yahweh fait retomber ta méchanceté sur ta tête.
45 And the king Solomon [will be] blessed and [the] throne of David it will be established before Yahweh until perpetuity.
Mais le roi Salomon sera béni, et le trône de David sera affermi à jamais devant Yahweh. »
46 And he commanded the king Benaiah [the] son of Jehoiada and he went out and he fell on him and he died and the kingdom it was established in [the] hand of Solomon.
Et le roi donna des ordres à Banaïas, fils de Joïadas; et il sortit et frappa Séméï, qui mourut. Et la royauté fut affermie entre les mains de Salomon.
