< 1 Kings 2 >

1 And they drew near [the] days of David to die and he commanded Solomon son his saying.
Esi Fia David ƒe kuɣi ɖo vɔ la, egblɔ na via, Solomo be:
2 I [am] about to go in [the] way of all the earth and you will be strong and you will become a man.
“Mele demagbɔnugbe yim eya ta lé dzi ɖe ƒo, nàwɔ kalẽ.
3 And you will keep [the] charge of - Yahweh God your to walk in ways his to keep statutes his commandments his and judgments his and testimonies his according to [what] is written in [the] law of Moses so that you may cause to prosper all that you will do and every where you will turn there.
Wɔ nu siwo katã Yehowa, wò Mawu ɖo na wò. Wɔ eƒe se siwo katã woŋlɔ ɖe Mose ƒe agbalẽ me la dzi ale be nu sia nu si nàwɔ le go ɖe sia ɖe me la nadze edzi na wò.
4 So that he may establish Yahweh word his which he spoke on me saying if they will guard descendants your way their to walk before me in faithfulness with all heart their and with all being their saying not it will be cut off to you a man from on [the] throne of Israel.
Ne èwɔ alea la, ekema Yehowa awɔ ŋugbe si wòdo nam la dzi. Ŋugbe siae nye be ne vinyewo kple woƒe dzidzimeviwo azɔ nyuie, eye woawɔ nuteƒe na ye, Mawu la, ekema wo dometɔ ɖeka anye fia na Israel ɣe sia ɣi eye nye fiaɖuƒe nu mayi akpɔ o.
5 And also you you know [that] which he did to me Joab [the] son of Zeruiah [that] which he did to [the] two [the] commanders of [the] armies of Israel to Abner [the] son of Ner and to Amasa [the] son of Jether and he killed them and he put blood of war in peace and he put blood of war on belt his which [was] on loins his and on sandal[s] his which [was] on feet his.
“Ènya be Yoab, Yeruya vi wu nye Israelʋafia eve, Abner kple Amasa. Eble amewo be aʋa mee yewu wo le, le esime wònye ŋutifafa ƒe ɣeyiɣiwo mee wòwu wo le.
6 And you will act according to wisdom your and not you must bring down grey hair his in peace Sheol. (Sheol h7585)
Ame nyanue nènye eye ànya nu si nàwɔ; mègana wòaku le ŋutifafa me o. (Sheol h7585)
7 And to [the] sons of Barzillai the Gileadite you will do loyalty and they will be among [those who] eat of table your for thus they drew near to me when fled I from before Absalom brother your.
“Ke ve Barzilai, Gileadtɔ la ƒe viwo nu elabena wove nunye esi mesi le vinye Absalom nu.
8 And here! [is] with you Shimei [the] son of Gera [the] Ben-jaminite from Bahurim and he he cursed me a curse grievous on [the] day went I Mahanaim and he he came down to meet me the Jordan and I swore to him by Yahweh saying if I will put to death you by the sword.
“Èɖo ŋku Simei, ame si nye Gera, Benyamintɔ tso Bahurim ƒe vi dzia? Eƒo fi dem vevie esime meyina Mahanaim. Ke esi wòva kpem le Yɔdan tɔsisi la nu la, medo ŋugbe nɛ le Yehowa ŋkɔ me be nyemawui o.
9 And therefore may not you leave unpunished him for [are] a man wise you and you will know [that] which you will do to him and you will bring down grey hair his in blood Sheol. (Sheol h7585)
Ke azɔ la, mègabui ame maɖifɔe o. Nunyalae nènye; ànya nu si nàwɔe. Ɖo eƒe ta ƒowɔ la ɖe yɔ me to ʋu me.” (Sheol h7585)
10 And he lay down David with ancestors his and he was buried in [the] city of David.
Ale David ku eye woɖii ɖe Yerusalem, David ƒe du la me.
11 And the days which he reigned David over Israel [were] forty year[s] in Hebron he reigned seven years and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years.
Eɖu fia ɖe Israel dzi ƒe blaene, ƒe adre le Hebron, ƒe blaetɔ̃-vɔ-etɔ̃ le Yerusalem.
12 And Solomon he sat on [the] throne of David father his and it was established reign his exceedingly.
Solomo zu fia yeye ɖe fofoa, David teƒe eye nuwo tsɔ afɔ nyuie le eƒe fiaɖuƒe la me.
13 And he came Adonijah [the] son of Haggith to Bath-sheba [the] mother of Solomon and she said ¿ peace [are] coming you and he said peace.
Gbe ɖeka la, Adoniya, Hagit ƒe vi la va Fia Solomo dada, Batseba gbɔ. Batseba biae be, “Ŋutifafae nètsɔ vɛa?” Adoniya ɖo eŋu be, “Ɛ̃, ŋutifafa mee meva le.
14 And he said a word [belongs] to me to you and she said speak.
Le nyateƒe me la, meva be maɖe kuku na wò, nàve nunye le mɔ tɔxɛ aɖe nu.” Batseba biae be, “Nu kae?”
15 And he said you you know that to me it belonged the kingship and on me they set all Israel faces their to become king and it has turned round the kingship and it has belonged to brother my for from Yahweh it belonged to him.
Adoniya ɖo eŋu be, “Tsã la, fiaɖuƒe la nye tɔnye eye Israel katã bu be nyee anye fia yeyea hafi. Ke nuwo va trɔ eye nu sia nu va yi nɔvinye boŋ ƒe asi me elabena nenemae Yehowa di be wòanɔ.
16 And now a petition one I [am] asking from with you may not you turn away face my and she said to him speak.
Azɔ la, medi be mabia wò nàna kpekpeɖeŋu tɔxɛ aɖem. Meɖe kuku, mègagbe kpekpeɖeŋu sia nanam o.” Batseba biae be, “Nu kae?”
17 And he said speak please to Solomon the king for not he will turn away face your so he may give to me Abishag the Shunammite to a wife.
Eɖo eŋu be, “Ƒo nu na Fia Solomo nam elabena menya be awɔ nu sia nu si nàbiae. Ƒo nu nɛ nam be wòatsɔ Abisag, Sunami nyɔnu la nam maɖe.”
18 And she said Bath-sheba good I I will speak on you to the king.
Batseba ɖo eŋu be, “Enyo, mabiae na wò.”
19 And she went Bath-sheba to the king Solomon to speak to him on Adonijah and he rose the king to meet her and he bowed down to her and he sat on throne his and he placed a throne for [the] mother of the king and she sat to right [hand] his.
Ale Batseba yi be yeagblɔ nya la na Fia Solomo le Adoniya ƒe ŋkɔ me. Esi wòɖo fia la gbɔ ko la, fia la tso le eƒe fiazikpui dzi, bɔbɔ eye wòde ta agu na dadaa. Eɖe gbe be woatsɔ fiazikpui aɖe ada ɖe ye tɔ gbɔ na ye dada, ale dadaa nɔ eƒe ɖusime.
20 And she said a petition one small I [am] asking from with you may not you turn away face my and he said to her the king ask O mother my for not I will turn away face your.
Dadaa gblɔ nɛ be, “Meva be mabia nane wò; meka ɖe edzi be màgbe nu si mabia wò la wɔwɔ o.” Fia la biae be, “Nu kae, danye? Ènya be, màbia nanekem magbe o.”
21 And she said let it be given Abishag the Shunammite to Adonijah brother your to a wife.
Dadaa gblɔ nɛ be, “Ɖe mɔ nɔviwò, Adoniya naɖe Abisag.”
22 And he answered the king Solomon and he said to mother his and why? [are] you asking Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah and ask for him the kingship for he [is] brother my old more than me and for him and for Abiathar the priest and for Joab [the] son of Zeruiah.
Fia Solomo ɖo ŋu na dadaa be, “Nu ka ta nèle Abisag, Sunami nyɔnu la biam na Adoniya ɖo? Bia fiaɖuƒe la hã na eya kple nunɔla Abiata kple Aʋafia Yoab si nye Zeruya ƒe vi la elabna fonyee.”
23 And he swore an oath the king Solomon by Yahweh saying thus may he do to me God and thus may he add if by own life his he has spoken Adonijah the word this.
Tete Fia Solomo tsɔ Yehowa ka atam be, “Mawu nafiam agafiam ɖe edzi, ne Adoniya metsɔ eƒe agbe xe fe ɖe nu si wòbia la ta o!
24 And therefore [by] [the] life of Yahweh who he appointed me (and he made sit me *Q(k)*) on [the] throne of David father my and who he has made for me a house just as he spoke that this day he will be put to death Adonijah.
Ke azɔ la, zi ale si Yehowa le agbe, ame si tsɔm ɖo fofonye, David ƒe fiazikpui dzi eye wòɖo fiaɖuƒe anyi nam abe ale si wòdo ŋugbe ene la, woawu Adoniya egbea!”
25 And he sent the king Solomon by [the] hand of Benaiah [the] son of Jehoiada and he fell on him and he died.
Ale Fia Solomo ɖo Benaya ɖa be wòayi aɖawu Adoniya eye wòyi ɖawui kple yi.
26 And to Abiathar the priest he said the king Anathoth go to fields your for [are] a man of death you and on the day this not I will put to death you for you carried [the] ark of [the] Lord Yahweh before David father my and for you were afflicted in all that he was afflicted father my.
Le esia megbe la, fia la gblɔ na nunɔla Abiata be, “Yi wò aƒe me le Anatɔt; ele be woawu wò hã gake nyemawu wò fifia o elabena wòe tsɔ Aƒetɔ la ƒe nubablaɖaka la le fofonye ƒe fiaɖuɣi eye nèkpe fu sia fu kplii to eƒe xaxaɣiwo katã me.”
27 And he drove out Solomon Abiathar from being a priest of Yahweh to fulfill [the] word of Yahweh which he had spoken on [the] house of Eli in Shiloh.
Ale Solomo nya Abiata be magawɔ dɔ abe Yehowa ƒe nunɔla ene o. Ale wona Yehowa ƒe nya si wògblɔ ɖi ɖe Eli kple eƒe dzidzimeviwo ŋu le Silo la va eme.
28 And the report it came to Joab for Joab he had turned aside after Adonijah and after Absalom not he had turned aside and he fled Joab to [the] tent of Yahweh and he took hold on [the] horns of the altar.
Yoab nye aʋafia na David ƒe aʋakɔ eye mede Absalom dzi o, ke ede Adoniya ya dzi. Esi Yoab se Adoniya ƒe ku la, eƒu du yi ɖadi sitsoƒe le Agbadɔ la me eye wòlé vɔsamlekpui la ƒe lãdzowo ɖe asi.
29 And it was told to the king Solomon that he had fled Joab to [the] tent of Yahweh and there! [he was] beside the altar and he sent Solomon Benaiah [the] son of Jehoiada saying go fall on him.
Esi Fia Solomo se nya sia la, eɖo Benaya ɖa be wòayi aɖawui.
30 And he went Benaiah to [the] tent of Yahweh and he said to him thus he says the king come out and he said - In-deed here I will die and he brought back Benaiah the king word saying thus he spoke Joab and thus he answered me.
Benaya yi agbadɔ la me; ekpɔ Yoab eye wògblɔ nɛ be, “Fia Solomo be, ‘do go!’” Yoab ɖo eŋu be, “Ao, medi be maku ɖe afi sia.” Ale Benaya trɔ yi fia la gbɔ hegblɔ nɛ be, “Ale Yoab gblɔ eye ale wòɖo eŋu nam enye esi.”
31 And he said to him the king do just as he has spoken and fall on him and you will bury him and you will remove - blood of without cause which he has shed Joab from on me and from on [the] house of father my.
Fia la gblɔ be, “Wɔ eƒe didi dzi, wui le vɔsamlekpui la gbɔ eye nàɖii. Esia aɖe amewo wuwu dzodzro ƒe fɔɖiɖi ɖa le nye kple fofonye ƒe ƒome la dzi.
32 And he will bring back Yahweh blood his on head his who he fell on two men righteous and good more than him and he killed them with the sword and father my David not he knew Abner [the] son of Ner [the] commander of [the] army of Israel and Amasa [the] son of Jether [the] commander of [the] army of Judah.
Ekema Yehowa ana ame eve siwo nyo wui hafi wòwu wo la ƒe nu vɔ̃ nanɔ eya ŋutɔ dzi elabena fofonye ƒe asi menɔ Aʋafia Abner, Israelʋakɔ la ƒe kplɔla gã la kple Aʋafia Amasa, Yudaʋakɔwo ƒe kplɔla gã la ƒe ku me o.
33 And they will return blood their on [the] head of Joab and on [the] head of offspring his for ever and to David and to offspring his and to house his and to throne his it will belong peace until perpetuity from with Yahweh.
Ame siawo wuwu ƒe nu vɔ̃ nanɔ Yoab kple eƒe dzidzimeviwo dzi tegbetegbe eye Mawu nakpɔe be David kple eƒe dzidzimeviwo meɖi fɔ le ame siawo wuwu me o.”
34 And he went up Benaiah [the] son of Jehoiada and he fell on him and he put to death him and he was buried in own house his in the wilderness.
Ale Benaya trɔ yi agbadɔ la me eye wòwu Yoab. Woɖi eƒe kukua ɖe eƒe aƒe xa le gbegbe.
35 And he put the king Benaiah [the] son of Jehoiada in place of him over the army and Zadok the priest he put the king in place of Abiathar.
Fia Solomo ɖo Benaya aʋafia gãe ɖe Yoab teƒe eye wòtsɔ Zadok ɖo nunɔla ɖe Abiata teƒe.
36 And he sent the king and he summoned Shimei and he said to him build for yourself a house in Jerusalem and you will dwell there and not you must go out from there where? and where?
Fia la ɖo du ɖe Simei eye wògblɔ nɛ be, “Tu xɔ na ɖokuiwò ɖe Yerusalem eye nànɔ afi ma; mègayi teƒe bubu aɖeke o.
37 And it will be - on [the] day going out you and you will pass over [the] wadi of Kidron certainly you will know that certainly you will die blood your it will be on own head your.
Gbe si gbe nàtso Kidron bali la la, nànya nyuie be yeaku eye yeƒe ʋu anɔ ye ŋutɔ ƒe ta dzi.”
38 And he said Shimei to the king [is] good the word just as he has spoken lord my the king so he will do servant your and he dwelt Shimei in Jerusalem days many.
Simei gblɔ nɛ be, “Mesee; mawɔ nu sia nu si nye aƒetɔ fia la gblɔ.” Ale wònɔ Yerusalem ɣeyiɣi didi aɖe.
39 And it was from [the] end of three years and they fled two servants of Shimei to Achish [the] son of Maacah [the] king of Gath and people told to Shimei saying there! servants your [are] in Gath.
Le ƒe etɔ̃ megbe la, Simei ƒe kluvi eve si yi Gat fia, Akis gbɔ. Esime Simei se be wole afi ma la,
40 And he arose Shimei and he saddled donkey his and he went Gath towards to Achish to seek servants his and he went Shimei and he brought servants his from Gath.
edo tedzi yi Gat le Akis gbɔ be yeadi yeƒe kluviwo. Esi wòkpɔ eƒe kluviawo la, ekplɔ wo va Yerusalem.
41 And it was told to Solomon that he had gone Shimei from Jerusalem Gath and he had returned.
Fia Solomo se be Simei dzo le Yerusalem yi Gat eye wòtrɔ gbɔ.
42 And he sent the king and he summoned Shimei and he said to him ¿ not did I make swear you by Yahweh and did I warn? you saying on [the] day going out you and you will go where? and where? certainly you will know that certainly you will die and you said to me [is] good the word I have heard.
Eyɔe hebiae be, “Ɖe nyemeɖo na wò be nànɔ Yerusalem alo nàku oa? Wò ŋutɔ mèɖo eŋu gblɔ be, ‘Mesee; mawɔ nu sia nu si nènya gblɔ ko’ oa?
43 And why? not have you kept [the] oath of Yahweh and the command which I commanded to you.
Ekema nu ka ta mèwɔ míaƒe ɖoɖo kple nye se la dzi o?”
44 And he said the king to Shimei you you know all the evil which it knows heart your which you did to David father my and he will return Yahweh evil your on head your.
“Nya kae le asiwò le nu vɔ̃ɖi siwo katã nèwɔ ɖe fofonye, Fia David, ŋu la ta? Yehowa nabia hlɔ̃ wò
45 And the king Solomon [will be] blessed and [the] throne of David it will be established before Yahweh until perpetuity.
gake wòakɔ eƒe yayra gã ɖe Solomo dzi ale be David ƒe fiazikpui la ali ke le Yehowa ƒe ŋkume tegbee.”
46 And he commanded the king Benaiah [the] son of Jehoiada and he went out and he fell on him and he died and the kingdom it was established in [the] hand of Solomon.
Enumake Fia Solomo ɖe gbe eye Benaya kplɔ Simei yi gota eye wòwui. Ale Solomo ƒe fianyenye li ke ɖe Israel dukɔ la me.
