< 1 Kings 18 >

1 And it was days many and [the] word of Yahweh it came to Elijah in the year third saying go present yourself to Ahab so let me give rain on [the] surface of the ground.
Le ɣeyiɣi didi aɖe megbe, le ƒe etɔ̃lia me la, Yehowa ƒe nya va na Eliya be, “Yi nàtsɔ ɖokuiwò afia Ahab eye mana tsi nadza ɖe anyigba dzi.”
2 And he went Elijah to present himself to Ahab and the famine [was] severe in Samaria.
Ale Eliya ɖagblɔe na Fia Ahab. Le ɣeyiɣi sia me la, dɔwuame nu sẽ ŋutɔ le Samaria.
3 And he summoned Ahab Obadiah who [was] over the household and Obadiah he was fearing Yahweh exceedingly.
Ame si kpɔa Fia Ahab ƒe aƒemenyawo dzi lae nye Obadiya, ame si nye mawuvɔ̃la aɖe.
4 And it was when cut off Jezebel [the] prophets of Yahweh and he took Obadiah one hundred prophets and he hid them fifty man in the cave and he supplied them food and water.
Eva eme be fianyɔnu Yezebel dze agbagba be yeawu Yehowa ƒe nyagblɔɖilawo katã le anyigba la dzi, ke Obadiya dze agbagba ɣla wo dometɔ alafa ɖeka ɖe agado eve me. Ame blaatɔ̃ nɔ agado ɖeka me eye blaatɔ̃ hã nɔ agado evelia me. Enyi wo kple abolo kple tsi ƒuƒlu ko.
5 And he said Ahab to Obadiah go in the land to all [the] springs of water and to all the wadis perhaps - we will find grass so we may preserve alive horse and mule and not we will cut off any of the livestock.
Fia Ahab gblɔ na Obadiya be, “Tsa le tɔsisi kple tɔʋu ɖe sia ɖe to le anyigba blibo la dzi ɖewohĩ miakpɔ gbe ana sɔawo kple tedziawo woaɖu be miaƒe lãwo magatsrɔ̃ na mi o.
6 And they divided to themselves the land to pass in it Ahab he went in a direction one to only him and Obadiah he went in a direction one to only him.
Ale ame eveawo tsa le anyigba la dzi; Ahab tsɔ eƒe mɔ eye Obadiya hã lé eƒe mɔ tsɔ.”
7 And he was Obadiah on the way and there! Elijah to meet him and he recognized him and he fell on face his and he said ¿ you [is] this O lord my Elijah.
Obadiya kpɔ Eliya wògbɔna egbɔ. Obadiya dze sii enumake. Ede ta agu nɛ eye wòbiae be, “Nye aƒetɔ Eliya, wò tututuea?”
8 And he said to him [it is] I go say to master your here! Elijah.
Eliya ɖo eŋu be, “Ɛ̃, nye tututue. Yi nàgblɔ na Fia la be mele afii.”
9 And he said what? have I sinned that you [are] giving servant your in [the] hand of Ahab to put to death me.
Obadiya biae be, “Nu gbegblẽ ka mewɔ be nètsɔ wò dɔla le asi dem na Ahab be wòawu?
10 [by] [the] life - Of Yahweh God your if there [is] a nation and a kingdom where not he has sent master my there to seek you and they said not and he made swear the kingdom and the nation that not it has found you.
Meta Yehowa, wò Mawu la ƒe agbe be dukɔ alo fiaɖuƒe aɖeke meli si nye aƒetɔ medɔ ame ɖo be woadi wò o. Ne dukɔ aɖe alo fiaɖuƒe aɖe gblɔ be mèle yewo gbɔ o la, enana wokaa atam be nyateƒee yewomekpɔ wò o.
11 And now you [are] saying go say to master your here! Elijah.
Ke azɔ la, ègblɔ nam be mayi nye aƒetɔ gbɔ, agblɔ nɛ be, ‘Eliya le afii.’
12 And it will be I - I will go from with you and [the] spirit of Yahweh - it will carry away you to where not I know and I will go to tell to Ahab and not he will find you and he will kill me and servant your [is] fearing Yahweh since youth my.
Nyemenya afi si Yehowa ƒe Gbɔgbɔ akplɔ wò ayii ne medzo le gbɔwò o. Ke ne meɖagblɔe na Ahab eye meva kpɔ wò o la, awum. Ke hã la, nye, wò dɔla, mesubɔ Yehowa tso nye ɖekakpuime ke.
13 ¿ Not has it been told to lord my [that] which I did when killed Jezebel [the] prophets of Yahweh and I hid of [the] prophets of Yahweh one hundred man fifty fifty man in the cave and I supplied them food and water.
Nye aƒetɔ, ɖe mèse nu si mewɔ esi Yezebel nɔ Yehowa ƒe nyagblɔɖilawo wum oa? Meɣla Yehowa ƒe nyagblɔɖila alafa ɖeka ɖe agado eve me, blaatɔ̃ ɖe agado ɖeka me, blaatɔ̃ ɖe agado evelia me eye mena nuɖuɖu kple tsi wo.
14 And now you [are] saying go say to master your here! Elijah and he will kill me.
Ke azɔ la, ègblɔ nam be mayi nye aƒetɔ gbɔ agblɔ nɛ be, ‘Eliya le afii.’ Awum godoo!”
15 And he said Elijah [by] [the] life of Yahweh of hosts whom I stand before him for this day I will present myself to him.
Eliya gblɔ nɛ be, “Meta Yehowa, Dziƒoʋakɔwo ƒe Aƒetɔ la, ame si mesubɔna la ƒe agbe be egbe matsɔ ɖokuinye afia Ahab godoo.”
16 And he went Obadiah to meet Ahab and he told to him and he went Ahab to meet Elijah.
Ale Obadiya yi ɖagblɔ na Fia Ahab be Eliya va. Ale Ahab do go be yeayi aɖakpee.
17 And it was when saw Ahab Elijah and he said Ahab to him ¿ you [is] this O [one who] troubles Israel.
Esi wòkpɔ Eliya la, ebiae be, “Wòe nye ema? Wò ame si le fu ɖem na Israel mahã?”
18 And he said not I have troubled Israel that except you and [the] household of father your because have forsaken you [the] commandments of Yahweh and you have walked after the Baals.
Eliya ɖo eŋu be, “Nyemehe fukpekpe aɖeke va Israel dzi o, ke boŋ wò kple fofowò ƒe aƒe lae elabena miegble Yehowa ƒe sededewo ɖi eye miedze Baalwo yome.
19 And now send gather to me all Israel to [the] mountain of Carmel and [the] prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty and [the] prophets of Asherah four hundred [who] eat of [the] table of Jezebel.
Azɔ la, yɔ Israel katã, Baal ƒe nyagblɔɖila alafa ene blaatɔ̃ kple aƒeli ƒe nyagblɔɖila alafa ene siwo ɖua nu le Yezebel ƒe kplɔ̃ ŋu ƒo ƒu ɖe gbɔnye le Karmel to dzi.”
20 And he sent Ahab among all [the] people of Israel and he gathered the prophets to [the] mountain of Carmel.
Ale Ahab ɖo du ɖe Israelnyigba katã dzi eye wòna nyagblɔɖilawo ƒo ƒu ɖe Karmel to dzi.
21 And he drew near Elijah to all the people and he said until when? [will] you [be] limping on [the] two the crutches if Yahweh [is] God walk after him and if Baal walk after him and not they answered the people him a word.
Eye Eliya do ɖe ameawo ŋgɔ eye wògblɔ na wo be, “Ɣe ka ɣie mianɔ evedome si va se ɖo? Ne Yehowae nye Mawu la, midze eyome, ke nenye Baal ye nye Mawu la, midze eyome!” Gake womeɖo nya aɖeke ŋuti nɛ o.
22 And he said Elijah to the people I I am left a prophet of Yahweh to alone me and [the] prophets of Baal [are] four hundred and fifty man.
Eliya yi edzi be, “Nye ɖeka koe nye Yehowa ƒe nyagblɔɖila si susɔ, ke nyagblɔɖila alafa ene blaatɔ̃ le Baal ya si.
23 And let people give to us two young bulls and let them choose for themselves the young bull one and let them cut in pieces it and they may put on the wood and fire not they will set and I I will prepare - the young bull one and I will put on the wood and fire not I will set.
Midi nyitsu eve na mí. Mina woatia ɖeka na wo ɖokui. Wonefli lã la eye woatsɔ lãkɔawo aɖo nake la dzi gake womado dzo ɖe ete o. Nye hã mafli nyitsu evelia atsɔ lãkɔawo aɖo nake la dzi eye nyemado dzo ɖe ete o.
24 And you will call on [the] name of god your and I I will call on [the] name of Yahweh and he will be the god who he will answer by fire he God and it answered all the people and they said [is] good the word.
Ekema miayɔ miaƒe mawu la ƒe ŋkɔ eye nye hã mayɔ Yehowa ƒe ŋkɔ eye mawu si aɖo dzo ɖa la, eyae nye Mawu.” Tete ameawo katã do ɣli be, “Nya si nègblɔ la nyo.”
25 And he said Elijah to [the] prophets of Baal choose for yourselves the young bull one and prepare [it] first for you [are] the many and call on [the] name of god your and fire not you will set.
Eliya trɔ ɖe Baal ƒe nyagblɔɖilawo gbɔ eye wògblɔ na wo be, “Miawo miwɔ mia tɔ gbã, elabena miesɔ gbɔ. Mitia nyitsuawo dometɔ ɖeka, miflii da ɖe nakeawo dzi eye miyɔ miaƒe mawu la ƒe ŋkɔ gake migade dzo nakeawo te o.”
26 And they took the young bull which someone gave to them and they prepared [it] and they called on [the] name of Baal from the morning and until the noontide saying O Baal answer us and there not [was] a sound and there not [was one who] answered and they limped around at the altar which he had made.
Wokplɔ nyitsu si wotsɔ na wo la, wowui, heflii ɖo nakeawo dzi. Tete woyɔ Baal ƒe ŋkɔ tso ŋdi va se ɖe ŋdɔ. Wodo ɣli be, “Oo Baal, tɔ na mí!” Gake ŋuɖoɖo aɖeke meva o eye ame aɖeke metɔ na wo o. Ale woɖu ɣe ƒo xlã vɔsamlekpui si woɖi.
27 And it was at the noontide and he mocked them Elijah and he said call out with a voice great for [is] a god he for musing and for a going away [belongs] to him and for a journey [belongs] to him perhaps [is] sleeping he so he may awake.
Esi ɣe ɖo to la, Eliya nɔ alɔme ɖem le wo ŋu be, “Mido ɣli sesĩe! Nyateƒemawue wònye! Ɖewohĩ ele ŋugble dem vevie alo eƒe ŋku biã ɖe dɔ aɖe ŋu alo ezɔ mɔ. Ɖewohĩ ele alɔ̃ dɔm eye wòhiã be woanyɔe.”
28 And they called out with a voice great and they cut themselves according to custom their with swords and with lances until poured out blood over them.
Ale wogado ɣli ɖe edzi sesĩe wu tsã, eye le woƒe kɔnyinyi nu la, wotsɔ hɛwo kple yiwo si wo ɖokui va se ɖe esime ʋu do le wo ŋu.
29 And it was when passed the noontide and they prophesied until goes up the offering and there not [was] a sound and there not [was one who] answered and there not [was] attention.
Le ɣetrɔ me la, woganɔ woƒe gbedodoɖa dzi kple ŋkubiã va se ɖe fiẽvɔsaɣi gake ame aɖeke metɔ o, ame aɖeke meɖo nya ŋu na wo loo alo ɖo to wo o.
30 And he said Elijah to all the people draw near to me and they drew near all the people to him and he repaired [the] altar of Yahweh that was torn down.
Eliya gblɔ na ameawo katã be, “Mite va gbɔnye!” Ameawo katã ƒo ƒu ɖe eŋu esi wòdzra Yehowa ƒe vɔsamlekpui si wogbã la ɖo.
31 And he took Elijah two [plus] ten stones according to [the] number of [the] tribes of [the] sons of Jacob whom it had come [the] word of Yahweh to him saying Israel it will be name your.
Etsɔ kpe wuieve ɖe Yakob, ame si Yehowa gblɔ na be, “Wò ŋkɔe anye Israel” la ƒe viwo ƒe to wuieveawo ƒe xexlẽme nu.
32 And he built the stones an altar in [the] name of Yahweh and he made a trench like a receptacle of two seahs seed around the altar.
Etsɔ kpeawo ɖi vɔsamlekpui le Yehowa ŋkɔ me eye wòɖe do ƒo xlãe. Do la lolo ale be woate ŋu akɔ tsi lita wuiatɔ̃ ɖe eme.
33 And he arranged the wood and he cut it in pieces the young bull and he put [it] on the wood. And he said fill four jars water and pour [it] on the burnt offering and on the wood
Eɖo nakeawo ɖe vɔsamlekpui la dzi eye wòfli nyitsu la hetsɔ ɖo nakeawo dzi. Emegbe la egblɔ na wo be, “Miku tsi ɖe tsizɔ eneawo me eye miatrɔe akɔ ɖe vɔsalã la kple nakeawo dzi.”
34 and he said do again and they did again and he said do a third time and they did a third time.
Egblɔ na wo be, “Migawɔe ake” eye wogawɔe. Eɖe gbe na wò be, “Miwɔe zi etɔ̃lia.” Ale wowɔe zi etɔ̃lia.
35 And they went the waters around the altar and also the trench he filled water.
Ale tsi la gbagba tso vɔsamlekpui la dzi eye wòyɔ do si woɖe ƒo xlã vɔsamlekpui la gɔ̃ hã.
36 And it was - when went up the offering and he drew near Elijah the prophet and he said O Yahweh [the] God of Abraham Isaac and Israel this day let it be known that you [are] God in Israel and I [am] servant your (and at word your *Q(K)*) I have done all the things these.
Esime fiẽvɔsaɣi ɖo la, Eliya te ɖe vɔsamlekpui la ŋu eye wòdo gbe ɖa be, “Oo, Yehowa, Abraham, Isak kple Israel ƒe Mawu, ɖee fia egbe be wòe nye Mawu le Israel eye mewɔ esiawo katã le wò nya nu.
37 Answer me O Yahweh answer me so they may know the people this that you O Yahweh [are] God and you you have turned around heart their backwards.
Tɔ nam, oo Yehowa, tɔ nam. Ekema, oo Yehowa, ame siawo anyae be, wòe nye Mawu eye be wòe gbugbɔ woƒe dzi le tɔtrɔm ɖe ŋuwò.”
38 And it fell [the] fire of Yahweh and it consumed the burnt offering and the wood and the stones and the dust and the water which [was] in the trench it licked up.
Tete Yehowa ƒe dzo ge va fia vɔsalã la, nakeawo, kpeawo kple anyigli la eye wòno tsi wòvɔ le do si woɖe ƒo xlã vɔsamlekpui la me ƒiaƒiaƒia!
39 And it saw all the people and they fell on faces their and they said Yahweh he [is] God Yahweh he [is] God.
Esi ameawo katã kpɔ esia la, wotsyɔ mo anyi hedo ɣli be, “Yehowae nye Mawu! Yehowae nye Mawu vavã!”
40 And he said Elijah to them seize - [the] prophets of Baal anyone may not he escape of them and they seized them and he brought down them Elijah to [the] wadi of Kishon and he slaughtered them there.
Tete Eliya ɖe gbe na wo be, “Milé Baal ƒe nyagblɔɖilawo. Migana wo dometɔ aɖeke nasi adzo o!” Ale wolé wo eye Eliya na wokplɔ wo ɖi agae yi ɖe Kison balime eye wòwu wo le afi ma.
41 And he said Elijah to Ahab go up eat and drink for [the] sound of [the] noise of rain.
Azɔ la, Eliya gblɔ na Fia Ahab be, “Yi nàdi nu nyui aɖe nàɖu elabena tsi gã aɖe ɖo gbɔna.”
42 And he went up Ahab to eat and to drink and Elijah he went up to [the] top of Carmel and he crouched [the] ground towards and he put face his between (knees his. *Q(K)*)
Ale Ahab ɖo kplɔ̃ gã aɖe, ke Eliya lia Karmel to la, dze klo eye wòtsɔ eƒe ta de eƒe klowo dome.
43 And he said to servant his go up please look [the] direction of [the] sea and he went up and he looked and he said there not [is] anything and he said go back seven times.
Egblɔ na eƒe subɔla be, “Yi nàkpɔ atsiaƒu la gbɔ lɔƒo ɖa.” Subɔla la de gbɔ va gblɔ na Eliya be, “Nyemekpɔ naneke o.” Eliya gblɔ nɛ be, “Yi, nàgayi, nàgayi zi adre!”
44 And it was at the seventh [time] and he said there! a cloud small like [the] hand of a person [is] coming up from [the] sea and he said go up say to Ahab harness and go down and not it will hold back you the rain.
Mlɔeba la, esi subɔla la yi zi adrelia la, egblɔ na Eliya be, “Mekpɔ lilikpo aɖe wòlolo abe ŋutsu ƒe asi ene. Enɔ hohom tso atsiaƒu la me.” Eliya do ɣli enumake be, “Ɖe abla nàyi Ahab gbɔ, gblɔ nɛ be wòage ɖe eƒe tasiaɖam me eye wòaɖi tso to la dzi kaba, ne menye nenema o la, tsidzadza ava xe mɔ nɛ!”
45 And it was - until thus and until thus and the heavens they grew dark clouds and wind and it was rain great and he rode Ahab and he went Jezreel towards.
Azɔ la, lilikpowo va xe dziŋgɔli la ŋkume litii eye ahomya sesẽ aɖe he tsidzadza gã aɖe vɛ. Ahab dzo enumake yi Yezreel.
46 And [the] hand of Yahweh it was to Elijah and he girded up loins his and he ran before Ahab until coming you Jezreel towards.
Yehowa ƒe ŋusẽ va Eliya dzi ale be, esi wòbla eƒe ali dzi nyuie la, ete ŋu ƒu du nɔ ŋgɔ na Ahab ƒe tasiaɖam va se ɖe Yezreel ƒe agbo nu.
