1 Kings 12
1 And he went Rehoboam Shechem for Shechem it had gone all Israel to make king him.
Roboam se rendit à Sichem, car tout Israël était venu à Sichem pour le faire roi.
2 And it was when heard - Jeroboam [the] son of Nebat and he still he [was] in Egypt where he had fled because of the king Solomon and he dwelt Jeroboam in Egypt.
Lorsque Jéroboam, fils de Nebath, en eut connaissance (car il était encore en Égypte, où il s'était enfui de la présence du roi Salomon, et Jéroboam vivait en Égypte;
3 And people sent and they summoned him (and he came *Q(K)*) Jeroboam and all [the] assembly of Israel and they spoke to Rehoboam saying.
et on l'envoya chercher), Jéroboam et toute l'assemblée d'Israël vinrent et parlèrent à Roboam, en disant:
4 Father your he made hard yoke our and you now lighten some of [the] service of father your hard and some of yoke his heavy which he put on us and we will serve you.
« Ton père a rendu notre joug difficile. Maintenant donc, allège le dur service de ton père et le lourd joug qu'il nous a imposé, et nous te servirons. »
5 And he said to them go yet three days and return to me and they went the people.
Il leur dit: « Partez pour trois jours, puis revenez vers moi. » Alors les gens sont partis.
6 And he consulted the king Rehoboam with the elders who they were standing with [the] presence of Solomon father his when was he alive saying how? [are] you counseling to bring back the people this word.
Le roi Roboam consulta les vieillards qui s'étaient présentés devant Salomon, son père, de son vivant, et dit: « Quel conseil me donnez-vous pour répondre à ces gens? »
7 (And they spoke *Q(K)*) to him saying if this day you will be a servant of the people this and you will serve them and you will answer them and you will speak to them words kind and they will be of you servants all the days.
Ils répondirent: « Si tu veux être aujourd'hui le serviteur de ce peuple, si tu le sers et si tu lui réponds par de bonnes paroles, alors ils seront tes serviteurs pour toujours. »
8 And he forsook [the] counsel of the elders which they had counseled him and he consulted with the young men who they had grown up with him who [were] the [ones who] stood before him.
Mais il abandonna le conseil des vieillards qu'ils lui avaient donné, et tint conseil avec les jeunes gens qui avaient grandi avec lui, et qui se tenaient devant lui.
9 And he said to them what? [are] you counseling and we may bring back word the people this which they have spoken to me saying lighten some of the yoke which he put father your on us.
Il leur dit: « Quel conseil donnez-vous, pour que nous répondions à ces gens qui m'ont parlé en disant: « Allègez le joug que votre père a mis sur nous? »".
10 And they spoke to him the young men who they had grown up with him saying thus you will say to the people this which they have spoken to you saying father your he made heavy yoke our and you lighten from on us thus you will speak to them little finger my it is thick more than [the] loins of father my.
Les jeunes gens qui avaient grandi avec lui lui dirent: « Dis à ces gens qui t'ont parlé en disant: « Ton père a rendu notre joug lourd, mais allège-le pour nous », dis-leur: « Mon petit doigt est plus gros que la taille de mon père.
11 And now father my he loaded on you a yoke heavy and I I will add to yoke your father my he disciplined you with whips and I I will discipline you with scorpions.
Mon père vous a chargé d'un joug lourd, mais moi, je vais ajouter à votre joug. Mon père vous a châtiés avec des fouets, mais moi, je vous châtierai avec des scorpions.'"
12 (And he came *Q(k)*) Jeroboam and all the people to Rehoboam on the day third just as he had spoken the king saying return to me on the day third.
Jéroboam et tout le peuple se présentèrent à Roboam le troisième jour, comme le roi le leur avait demandé, en disant: « Revenez me voir le troisième jour. »
13 And he answered the king the people hard and he forsook [the] counsel of the elders which they had counseled him.
Le roi répondit durement au peuple, abandonna le conseil des vieillards qu'ils lui avaient donné,
14 And he spoke to them according to [the] counsel of the young men saying father my he made heavy yoke your and I I will add to yoke your father my he disciplined you with whips and I I will discipline you with scorpions.
et leur parla selon le conseil des jeunes gens, en disant: « Mon père a rendu votre joug pesant, mais moi, j'ajouterai à votre joug. Mon père vous a châtiés avec des fouets, mais moi je vous châtierai avec des scorpions. »
15 And not he listened the king to the people for it was a turn from with Yahweh so as to establish word his which he had spoken Yahweh by [the] hand of Ahijah Shilonite to Jeroboam [the] son of Nebat.
Et le roi n'écouta pas le peuple, car c'était une chose provoquée par l'Éternel, afin d'affermir sa parole, que l'Éternel avait dite par Achija de Silo à Jéroboam, fils de Nebath.
16 And it saw all Israel that not he had listened the king to them and they brought back the people the king word - saying what? [belongs] to us portion in David and not an inheritance in [the] son of Jesse to tents your O Israel now consider own house your O David and it went Israel to tents its.
Lorsque tout Israël vit que le roi ne les écoutait pas, le peuple prit la parole et dit au roi: « Quelle part avons-nous en David? Nous n'avons pas d'héritage dans le fils de Jessé. À tes tentes, Israël! Occupe-toi maintenant de ta propre maison, David. » Et Israël s'en alla vers ses tentes.
17 And [the] people of Israel who were dwelling in [the] cities of Judah and he reigned over them Rehoboam.
Mais quant aux enfants d'Israël qui habitaient dans les villes de Juda, Roboam régnait sur eux.
18 And he sent the king Rehoboam Adoram who [was] over the forced labor and they stoned all Israel him stone[s] and he died and the king Rehoboam he proved himself strong to go up in the chariot to flee Jerusalem.
Alors le roi Roboam envoya Adoram, qui était à la tête des hommes soumis au travail forcé, et tout Israël le lapida à mort. Le roi Roboam se hâta de monter sur son char, pour fuir à Jérusalem.
19 And they have rebelled Israel against [the] house of David until the day this.
Ainsi Israël s'est rebellé contre la maison de David jusqu'à ce jour.
20 And it was when heard all Israel that he had returned Jeroboam and they sent and they called him to the congregation and they made king him over all Israel not anyone was after [the] house of David except [the] tribe of Judah to only it.
Lorsque tout Israël apprit que Jéroboam était de retour, ils l'envoyèrent appeler à l'assemblée et l'établirent roi sur tout Israël. Il n'y eut personne qui suivit la maison de David, sauf la tribu de Juda seulement.
21 (And he came *Q(K)*) Rehoboam Jerusalem and he called together all [the] house of Judah and [the] tribe of Benjamin one hundred and eighty thousand chosen [man] maker[s] of war to do battle with [the] house of Israel to restore the kingship to Rehoboam [the] son of Solomon.
Lorsque Roboam fut arrivé à Jérusalem, il rassembla toute la maison de Juda et la tribu de Benjamin, cent quatre-vingt mille hommes d'élite qui étaient des guerriers, pour combattre la maison d'Israël, afin de ramener la royauté à Roboam, fils de Salomon.
22 And it came [the] word of God to Shemaiah [the] man of God saying.
Mais la parole de Dieu fut adressée à Shemaya, homme de Dieu, en ces termes:
23 Say to Rehoboam [the] son of Solomon [the] king of Judah and to all [the] house of Judah and Benjamin and [the] rest of the people saying.
« Parle à Roboam, fils de Salomon, roi de Juda, à toute la maison de Juda et de Benjamin, et au reste du peuple, et dis-lui:
24 Thus he says Yahweh not you must go up and not you must do battle! with countrymen your [the] people of Israel return each to own house his for from with me it has occurred the thing this and they listened to [the] word of Yahweh and they turned back to go according to [the] word of Yahweh.
« Yahvé dit: Vous ne monterez pas et vous ne combattrez pas contre vos frères, les enfants d'Israël. Chacun retournera dans sa maison, car cette chose vient de moi. »" Ils écoutèrent donc la parole de Yahvé, s'en retournèrent et poursuivirent leur chemin, selon la parole de Yahvé.
25 And he built Jeroboam Shechem in [the] hill country of Ephraim and he dwelt in it and he went out from there and he built Penuel.
Jéroboam bâtit Sichem dans la montagne d'Ephraïm, et il y habita; puis il sortit de là et bâtit Penuel.
26 And he said Jeroboam in heart his now it will return the kingdom to [the] house of David.
Jéroboam disait en son cœur: « Maintenant le royaume va revenir à la maison de David.
27 If it will go up - the people this to make sacrifices in [the] house of Yahweh in Jerusalem and it will return [the] heart of the people this to to lord their to Rehoboam [the] king of Judah and they will kill me and they will return to Rehoboam [the] king of Judah.
Si ce peuple monte pour offrir des sacrifices dans la maison de l'Éternel à Jérusalem, le cœur de ce peuple se tournera de nouveau vers son seigneur, vers Roboam, roi de Juda; il me tuera et reviendra à Roboam, roi de Juda. »
28 And he took counsel the king and he made two calves of gold and he said to them [too] much for you for going up Jerusalem here! gods your O Israel which they brought up you from [the] land of Egypt.
Le roi tint conseil et fit deux veaux d'or, et il leur dit: « C'est trop pour vous de monter à Jérusalem. Regardez et contemplez vos dieux, Israël, qui vous ont fait monter du pays d'Égypte! »
29 And he set the one [calf] in Beth-el and the one [calf] he put in Dan.
Il plaça l'un à Béthel, et l'autre à Dan.
30 And it became the thing this sin and they went the people before the one [calf] to Dan.
Cela devint un péché, car le peuple alla jusqu'à Dan pour se prosterner devant celui qui était là.
31 And he made a house of high places and he appointed priests from [the] ends of the people who not they were from [the] descendants of Levi.
Il fit des maisons de hauts lieux et établit des prêtres parmi tout le peuple, qui n'étaient pas des fils de Lévi.
32 And he appointed Jeroboam - a festival in the month eighth on [the] fif-teen day - of the month like the festival - which [was] in Judah and he offered up on the altar so he did in Beth-el to sacrifice to the calves which he had made and he stationed in Beth-el [the] priests of the high places which he had made.
Jéroboam institua une fête au huitième mois, le quinzième jour du mois, comme la fête qui a lieu en Juda, et il monta à l'autel. Il le fit à Béthel, en sacrifiant aux veaux qu'il avait faits, et il plaça à Béthel les prêtres des hauts lieux qu'il avait faits.
33 And he offered up on the altar - which he had made in Beth-el on [the] fif-teen day in the month eighth in the month which he had devised (from own heart his *Q(K)*) and he appointed a festival for [the] people of Israel and he offered up on the altar to make smoke.
Il monta à l'autel qu'il avait fait à Béthel, le quinzième jour du huitième mois, au mois qu'il avait choisi de son propre cœur; il donna une fête aux enfants d'Israël, et il monta à l'autel pour brûler des parfums.
