< 1 Chronicles 9 >

1 And all Israel they had themselves enrolled and there they [are] written on [the] scroll of [the] kings of Israel and Judah they were taken into exile to Babylon in unfaithfulness their.
So all Israel was recorded in the genealogies written in the Book of the Kings of Israel. But Judah was exiled to Babylon because of their unfaithfulness.
2 And the inhabitants first who [were] in possession their in cities their [were] Israel the priests the Levites and the temple servants.
Now the first to resettle their own property in their cities were Israelites, priests, Levites, and temple servants.
3 And in Jerusalem they dwelt some of [the] descendants of Judah and some of [the] descendants of Benjamin and some of [the] descendants of Ephraim and Manasseh.
These were some of the descendants of Judah, Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh who lived in Jerusalem:
4 Uthai [the] son of Ammihud [the] son of Omri [the] son of Imri [the] son of (Bani from *Q(K)*) [the] descendants of Perez [the] son of Judah.
Uthai son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, a descendant of Perez son of Judah.
5 And of the Shilonite[s] Asaiah the firstborn and sons his.
From the Shilonites: Asaiah the firstborn and his sons.
6 And of [the] descendants of Zerah Jeuel and relatives their six hundred and ninety.
From the Zerahites: Jeuel and 690 relatives.
7 And of [the] descendants of Benjamin Sallu [the] son of Meshullam [the] son of Hodaviah [the] son of Senaah.
From the Benjamites: Sallu son of Meshullam, the son of Hodaviah, the son of Hassenuah;
8 And Ibneiah [the] son of Jeroham and Elah [the] son of Uzzi [the] son of Mikri and Meshullam [the] son of Shephatiah [the] son of Reuel [the] son of Ibnijah.
Ibneiah son of Jeroham; Elah son of Uzzi, the son of Michri; Meshullam son of Shephatiah, the son of Reuel, the son of Ibnijah;
9 And relatives their to generations their nine hundred and fifty and six all these men [were] chiefs of fathers to [the] house of ancestors their.
and 956 of their relatives according to their genealogy. All these men were heads of their families.
10 And of the priests Jedaiah and Jehoiarib and Jakin.
From the priests: Jedaiah, Jehoiarib, and Jachin;
11 And Azariah [the] son of Hilkiah [the] son of Meshullam [the] son of Zadok [the] son of Meraioth [the] son of Ahitub [the] leader of [the] house of God.
Azariah son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, the chief official of God’s temple;
12 And Adaiah [the] son of Jeroham [the] son of Pashhur [the] son of Malkijah and Maasai [the] son of Adiel [the] son of Jahzerah [the] son of Meshullam [the] son of Meshillemith [the] son of Immer.
Adaiah son of Jeroham, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malchijah; Maasai son of Adiel, the son of Jahzerah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Meshillemith, the son of Immer;
13 And relatives their chiefs of [the] house of ancestors their one thousand and seven hundred and sixty mighty [men] of ability of [the] work of [the] service of [the] house of God.
and 1,760 of their relatives, the heads of their families, able men for the work of the service of the house of God.
14 And of the Levites Shemaiah [the] son of Hasshub [the] son of Azrikam [the] son of Hashabiah of [the] descendants of Merari.
From the Levites: Shemaiah son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, a descendant of Merari;
15 And Bakbakkar Heresh and Galal and Mattaniah [the] son of Mica [the] son of Zikri [the] son of Asaph.
Bakbakkar, Heresh, Galal, and Mattaniah son of Mica, the son of Zichri, the son of Asaph;
16 And Obadiah [the] son of Shemaiah [the] son of Galal [the] son of Jeduthun and Berekiah [the] son of Asa [the] son of Elkanah who dwelt in [the] villages of [the] Netophathite[s].
Obadiah son of Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun; and Berechiah son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, who lived in the villages of the Netophathites.
17 And the gatekeepers Shallum and Akkub and Talmon and Ahiman and brother their Shallum [was] the chief.
These were the gatekeepers: Shallum, Akkub, Talmon, Ahiman, and their relatives. Shallum was their chief;
18 And until now in [the] gate of the king east-ward they [were] the gatekeepers of [the] camps of [the] descendants of Levi.
he was previously stationed at the King’s Gate on the east side. These were the gatekeepers from the camp of the Levites.
19 And Shallum [the] son of Kore [the] son of Ebiasaph [the] son of Korah and relatives his of [the] house of father his the Korahites [were] over [the] work of the service [the] keepers of the thresholds of the tent and ancestors their [had been] over [the] camp of Yahweh [the] keepers of the entrance.
Shallum son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his relatives from the Korahites were assigned to guard the thresholds of the Tent, just as their fathers had been assigned to guard the entrance to the dwelling of the LORD.
20 And Phinehas [the] son of Eleazar a leader he had been over them before Yahweh - [was] with him.
In earlier times Phinehas son of Eleazar had been in charge of the gatekeepers, and the LORD was with him.
21 Zechariah [the] son of Meshelemiah [was] a gatekeeper of [the] entrance of [the] tent of meeting.
Zechariah son of Meshelemiah was the gatekeeper at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
22 All of them who had been chosen to gatekeepers at the thresholds [were] two hundred and two [plus] ten they [was] in villages their recording genealogy they them he had appointed David and Samuel the seer in faithfulness their.
The number of those chosen to be gatekeepers at the thresholds was 212. They were registered by genealogy in their villages. David and Samuel the seer had appointed them to their positions of trust.
23 And they and descendants their [were] over the gates of [the] house of Yahweh of [the] house of the tent to guards.
So they and their descendants were assigned to guard the gates of the house of the LORD—the house called the Tent.
24 To four sides they were the gatekeepers [the] east west-ward north-ward and south-ward.
The gatekeepers were stationed on the four sides: east, west, north, and south.
25 And relatives their in villages their [were] to come for [the] seven the days from time to time with these.
Their relatives came from their villages at fixed times to serve with them for seven-day periods.
26 For in faithfulness they [the] four [the] mighty [ones] of the gatekeepers they [were] the Levites and they were over the store-rooms and over the treasuries of [the] house of God.
But the four chief gatekeepers, who were Levites, were entrusted with the rooms and the treasuries of the house of God.
27 And around [the] house of God they spent [the] night for [was] on them a duty and they [were] over the key and to the morning to the morning.
They would spend the night stationed around the house of God, because they were responsible for guarding it and opening it every morning.
28 And some of them [were] over [the] articles of the service for by number they brought them and by number they took out them.
Some of them were in charge of the articles used in worship, to count them whenever they were brought in or taken out.
29 And some of them [were] appointed over the articles and over all [the] articles of the holy place and over the fine flour and the wine and the oil and the frankincense and the spices.
Others were put in charge of the furnishings and other articles of the sanctuary, as well as the fine flour, wine, oil, frankincense, and spices.
30 And some of [the] sons of the priests [were those who] mixed the mixture of the spices.
And some of the sons of the priests mixed the spices.
31 And Mattithiah one of the Levites he [was] the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite in faithfulness [was] over [the] work of the flat cakes.
A Levite named Mattithiah, the firstborn son of Shallum the Korahite, was entrusted with baking the bread.
32 And some of [the] sons of the Kohathite[s] some of relatives their [were] over [the] bread of the row to prepare [it] sabbath sabbath.
Some of their Kohathite brothers were responsible for preparing the rows of the showbread every Sabbath.
33 And these the singers [the] chiefs of fathers of the Levites [were] in the rooms (set free *Q(K)*) for by day and night [was] on them in the work.
Those who were musicians, the heads of Levite families, stayed in the temple chambers and were exempt from other duties because they were on duty day and night.
34 These [were] [the] chiefs of the fathers of the Levites to generations their chiefs these they dwelt in Jerusalem.
All these were heads of Levite families, chiefs according to their genealogies, and they lived in Jerusalem.
35 And in Gibeon they dwelt [the] father of Gibeon (Jeiel *Q(K)*) and [the] name of wife his [was] Maacah.
Jeiel the father of Gibeon lived in Gibeon. His wife’s name was Maacah.
36 And son his the firstborn [was] Abdon and Zur and Kish and Baal and Ner and Nadab.
Abdon was his firstborn son, then Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner, Nadab,
37 And Gedor and Ahio and Zechariah and Mikloth.
Gedor, Ahio, Zechariah, and Mikloth.
38 And Mikloth he fathered Shimeam and also they before relatives their they dwelt in Jerusalem with relatives their.
Mikloth was the father of Shimeam. They too lived alongside their relatives in Jerusalem.
39 And Ner he fathered Kish and Kish he fathered Saul and Saul he fathered Jonathan and Malki-Shua and Abinadab and Eshbaal.
Ner was the father of Kish, Kish was the father of Saul, and Saul was the father of Jonathan, Malchishua, Abinadab, and Esh-baal.
40 And [the] son of Jonathan [was] Merib-baal and Meri-baal he fathered Micah.
The son of Jonathan: Merib-baal, who was the father of Micah.
41 And [the] sons of Micah Pithon and Melech and Tahrea. (And Ahaz. *X*)
The sons of Micah: Pithon, Melech, Tahrea, and Ahaz.
42 And Ahaz he fathered Jarah and Jarah he fathered Alemeth and Azmaveth and Zimri and Zimri he fathered Moza.
Ahaz was the father of Jarah; Jarah was the father of Alemeth, Azmaveth, and Zimri; and Zimri was the father of Moza.
43 And Moza he fathered Binea and Rephaiah son his Eleasah son his Azel son his.
Moza was the father of Binea. Rephaiah was his son, Elasah his son, and Azel his son.
44 And [belonged] to Azel six sons and these [are] names their Azrikam - Bocheru and Ishmael and Sheariah and Obadiah and Hanan these [were] [the] sons of Azel.
And Azel had six sons, and these were their names: Azrikam, Bocheru, Ishmael, Sheariah, Obadiah, and Hanan. These were the sons of Azel.
