1 Chronicles 17
1 And it was just when he dwelt David in house his and he said David to Nathan the prophet here! I [am] dwelling in [the] house of cedar and [the] ark of [the] covenant of Yahweh [is] under tent curtains.
UDavida esehlezi esigodlweni sakhe wasesithi kuNathani umphrofethi, “Uyabona, mina ngihlezi esigodlweni esakhiwa ngomsedari, kodwa ibhokisi lesivumelwano sikaThixo lingaphansi kwethente.”
2 And he said Nathan to David all that [is] in heart your do for God [is] with you.
UNathani wathi kuDavida, “Konke okusengqondweni yakho, kwenze, ngoba uNkulunkulu ulawe.”
3 And it was in the night that and it came [the] word of God to Nathan saying.
Ngalobobusuku ilizwi likaNkulunkulu leza kuNathani, lisithi:
4 Go and you will say to David servant my thus he says Yahweh not you you will build for me the house to dwell in.
“Hamba uyetshela inceku yami uDavida uthi, ‘Nanku okutshiwo nguThixo: Ayisuwe ozangakhela indlu yokuhlala kuyo.
5 For not I have dwelt in a house since the day when I brought up Israel until the day this and I have been from tent to tent and from tabernacle.
Angikahlali endlini kusukela mhla ngakhulula abako-Israyeli eGibhithe kuze kube lamuhla. Sengibhode ngisuka kulelithente ngaya kuleliyana, ngisuka endaweni ethile yokuhlala ngisiya kweyinye.
6 In every where I went about in all Israel ¿ a word did I speak with one of [the] judges of Israel whom I commanded to shepherd people my saying why? not have you built for me a house of cedar.
Konke lapho engihambe khona labako-Israyeli, kambe kukhona lapho engike ngathi kubakhokheli babo engabalaya ukuthi beluse abantu bami, “Kungani lingangakhelanga indlu yemisedari na?”’
7 And therefore thus you will say to servant my to David. Thus he says Yahweh of hosts I I took you from the pasture from after the flock to be ruler over people my Israel.
Ngakho tshela inceku yami uDavida ukuthi, ‘Nanku okutshiwo nguThixo uSomandla: Ngakuthatha emadlelweni ekweluseni izimvu, ukuze ube ngumbusi wabantu bami abako-Israyeli.
8 And I was with you in every where you went and I cut off all enemies your from before you and I will make for you a name like [the] name of the great [people] who [are] on the earth.
Ngibe ngilawe lapho obuhamba khona, ngizinqobile zonke izitha zakho phambi kwakho. Ngalokho ibizo lakho ngizalenza libe lodumo olufana lamabizo amadoda adume kakhulu emhlabeni.
9 And I will establish a place for people my Israel and I will plant it and it will dwell in place its and not it will be agitated again and not they will repeat [the] sons of injustice to consume it just as at the former [time].
Njalo ngizalungisela abantu bami bako-Israyeli indawo engeyabo ngibafake khona labo babe lekhaya labo lapho abangayikuhlutshwa khona. Abantu abagangileyo abasayikubancindezela futhi, njengalokhu abakwenza kuqala
10 And from days when I appointed judges over people my Israel and I will subdue all enemies your and I have told to you and a house he will build for you Yahweh.
lalokhu asebephikelele ukukwenza kusukela esikhathini engamisa ngaso abakhokheli ebantwini bami u-Israyeli. Ngizazinqoba zonke izitha zakho. Ngiyaqinisa kuwe ukuthi uThixo uzakwakhela indlu:
11 And it will be that they have been completed days your to go with ancestors your and I will raise up offspring your after you who he will be one of descendants your and I will establish kingdom his.
Kuzakuthi nxa insuku zakho seziphelile ususiya kubokhokho bakho, ngizakwenza inzalo yakho ithathe isikhundla sakho, omunye wamadodana akho, njalo ngizawuqinisa umbuso wakhe.
12 He he will build for me a house and I will establish throne his until perpetuity.
Lowo nguye ozangakhela indlu yami, ngakho ngizamisa isihlalo sombuso wakhe kuze kube nininini.
13 I I will become of him a father and he he will become of me a son and covenant loyalty my not I will remove from with him just as I removed [it] from [the one] who he was before you.
Ngizakuba nguyise, yena abe yindodana yami. Angiyikususa uthando lwami kuye, njengalokhu engakwenza kulowo owakwandulelayo.
14 And I will appoint him in house my and in kingdom my until perpetuity and throne his it will be established until perpetuity.
Ngizambeka yena endlini yami lasembusweni wami kuze kube nininini, lombuso wakhe uzakuma kokuphela.’”
15 According to all the words these and according to all the vision this so he spoke Nathan to David.
UNathani wabikela uDavida amazwi wonke esambulelo.
16 And he went the king David and he sat before Yahweh and he said who? [am] I O Yahweh God and who? [is] house my that you have brought me to here.
Ngakho inkosi uDavida wangena wahlala phambi kukaThixo, wasesithi, “Ngingubani mina, awu Thixo Nkulunkulu wami, bayini abendlu yami, lokho okwenze waze wangibeka kulesi isimo?
17 And it was small this in view your O God and you have spoken on [the] house of servant your from distant [time] and you have seen me according to [the] order of humankind the going up O Yahweh God.
Kanti njalonje lakho kubuye kukhanye kungathi kakwenelanga emehlweni akho, Oh Nkulunkulu, usukhulume ngelizayo ngendlu yenceku yakho. Ungiphethe Nkulunkulu wami, awu Thixo Nkulunkulu wami, kungathi ngingomunye wabaphakemeyo kakhulu.
18 What? will he add again David to you for honor servant your and you servant your you know.
Kambe kuyini okunye uDavida angakutsho kuwe ngokuhlonipha okwenze encekwini yakho? Ngoba wena uyayazi inceku yakho,
19 O Yahweh for sake of servant your and according to heart your you have done all the greatness this by making known all the greatness.
Oh Thixo. Ngenxa yenceku yakho, njalo langentando yakho, uyenzile into le enkulu, waziveza obala lezizithembiso ezinkulu kangaka.
20 O Yahweh there not [is] like you and there not [is] a God except you in all that we have heard with ears our.
Kakho ofanana lawe, Oh Thixo, njalo kakho omunye uNkulunkulu kodwa nguwe kuphela, njengoba sesizwile ngezethu indlebe.
21 And who? [is] like people your Israel a nation one on the earth which he went God to redeem for himself a people to make for yourself a name great things and awesome [deeds] by driving out from before people your which you had redeemed from Egypt nations.
Njalo ngubani ongafanana labantu bakho bako-Israyeli esiyiso sodwa isizwe emhlabeni esiloNkulunkulu owayazikhululela abantu, lokuzenzela ibizo, lokwenza imimangaliso enzima ngokuxotsha izizwe phambi kwabantu bakho, owabakhulula eGibhithe?
22 And you made people your Israel - for yourself a people until perpetuity and you O Yahweh you became for them God.
Wabenza abantu bakho u-Israyeli baba ngabantu bakho kuze kube nini lanini, njalo wena, Thixo, usunguNkulunkulu wabo.
23 And now O Yahweh the word which you have spoken on servant your and on house his let it be established until perpetuity and do just as you have spoken.
Lakhathesi, Thixo akuthi lesosithembiso owasenza encekwini yakho labendlu yayo sigcwaliseke kuze kube nininini. Yenza njengokuthembisa kwakho,
24 And it may be established so it may be great name your until perpetuity saying Yahweh of hosts [is] [the] God of Israel God to Israel and [the] house of David servant your [is] established before you.
kuze kubonakale ukuthi ibizo lakho lizaphakanyiswa kuze kube nininini. Ngakho abantu bazakuthi, ‘UThixo uSomandla, uNkulunkulu ka-Israyeli, ngoka-Israyeli uNkulunkulu!’ Kuthi indlu yenceku yakho imiswe phambi kwakho.
25 For - you O God my you have uncovered [the] ear of servant your to build for him a house there-fore he has found servant your to pray before you.
Wena Nkulunkulu wami ukuveze obala encekwini yakho ukuthi uzayakhela indlu. Ngalokho inceku yakho isithole isibindi sokukhuleka kuwe.
26 And now O Yahweh you he [are] God and you have spoken on servant your the good thing this.
Oh Thixo, unguNkulunkulu wena! Usuthembise lezizinto ezinhle encekwini yakho.
27 And now you have determined to bless [the] house of servant your to be for ever before you for you O Yahweh you have blessed and [it is] blessed for ever.
Ngakho kukuthokozisile ukubusisa indlu yenceku yakho, ukuthi ibe khona phambi kwakho kuze kube nininini ebusweni bakho; ngoba wena, Oh Thixo, uyibusisile, njalo izabusiswa nini lanini.”
