1 Chronicles 15
1 And he made for himself houses in [the] city of David and he prepared a place for [the] ark of God and he pitched for it a tent.
Siden bygget han sig huser i Davids stad og gjorde i stand et sted for Guds ark og reiste et telt for den.
2 Then he said David not to carry [the] ark of God that except the Levites for them - he had chosen Yahweh to carry [the] ark of Yahweh and to serve him until perpetuity.
Da sa David: Ingen skal bære Guds ark uten levittene; for dem har Herren utvalgt til å bære Guds ark og til å tjene ham for alle tider.
3 And he assembled David all Israel to Jerusalem to bring up [the] ark of Yahweh to place its which he had prepared for it.
Så samlet David hele Israel til Jerusalem for å føre Herrens ark op til det sted som han hadde gjort i stand for den.
4 And he gathered David [the] descendants of Aaron and the Levites.
Og David kalte Arons barn og levittene sammen:
5 Of [the] descendants of Kohath Uriel the leader and relatives his one hundred and twenty.
av Kahats barn Uriel, den øverste, og hans brødre, hundre og tyve,
6 Of [the] descendants of Merari Asaiah the leader and relatives his two hundred and twenty.
av Meraris barn Asaja, den øverste, og hans brødre, to hundre og tyve,
7 Of [the] descendants of Gershom Joel the leader and relatives his one hundred and thirty.
av Gersoms barn Joel, den øverste, og hans brødre, hundre og tretti,
8 Of [the] descendants of Elizaphan Shemaiah the leader and relatives his two hundred.
av Elisafans barn Semaja, den øverste, og hans brødre, to hundre,
9 Of [the] descendants of Hebron Eliel the leader and relatives his eighty.
av Hebrons barn Eliel, den øverste, og hans brødre, åtti.
10 Of [the] descendants of Uzziel Amminadab the leader and relatives his one hundred and two [plus] ten.
av Ussiels barn Amminadab, den øverste, og hans brødre, hundre og tolv.
11 And he summoned David Zadok and Abiathar the priests and the Levites Uriel Asaiah and Joel Shemaiah and Eliel and Amminadab.
Så kalte David til sig prestene Sadok og Ebjatar og levittene Uriel, Asaja og Joel, Semaja og Eliel og Amminadab.
12 And he said to them you [are] [the] chiefs of the fathers of the Levites consecrate yourselves you and relatives your and you will bring up [the] ark of Yahweh [the] God of Israel to [where] I have prepared for it.
Og han sa til dem: I familiehoder for levittene, hellige eder, både I og eders brødre, og før Herrens, Israels Guds ark op til det sted jeg har gjort i stand for den!
13 For to what? at the first [time] not you he burst out Yahweh God our against us for not we sought him according to the ordinance.
Det var fordi I ikke var med første gang at Herren vår Gud brøt inn iblandt oss; for vi søkte ham ikke på rette måte.
14 And they consecrated themselves the priests and the Levites to bring up [the] ark of Yahweh [the] God of Israel.
Da helliget prestene og levittene sig for å føre Herrens. Israels Guds ark op.
15 And they carried [the] descendants of the Levites [the] ark of God just as he had commanded Moses according to [the] word of Yahweh on shoulders their with poles on them.
Og levittenes barn bar Guds ark på sine skuldrer ved hjelp av bærestengene, således som Moses hadde påbudt efter Herrens ord.
16 And he said David to [the] leaders of the Levites to appoint relatives their the singers with instruments of song lyres and harps and cymbals sounding aloud to raise a sound of joy.
Så bød David de øverste blandt levittene at de skulde stille sine brødre sangerne frem med musikkinstrumenter, harper og citarer og cymbler, som de skulde spille på, idet de lot gledesangen tone.
17 And they appointed the Levites Heman [the] son of Joel and of relatives his Asaph [the] son of Berekiah. And of [the] descendants of Merari relatives their Ethan [the] son of Kushaiah.
Da stilte levittene frem Heman, sønn av Joel, og av hans brødre Asaf, sønn av Berekja, og av deres brødre Meraris barn Etan, sønn av Kusaja,
18 And with them relatives their the second in rank Zechariah Ben and Jaaziel and Shemiramoth and Jehiel - and Unni Eliab and Benaiah and Maaseiah and Mattithiah and Eliphelehu and Mikneiah and Obed-Edom and Jeiel the gatekeepers.
og sammen med dem deres brødre av annen rang, Sakarja, Ben og Ja'asiel og Semiramot og Jehiel og Unni, Eliab og Benaja og Ma'aseja og Mattitja og Eliflehu og Mikneja og Obed-Edom og Je'iel, dørvokterne.
19 And the singers Heman Asaph and Ethan with cymbals bronze [were] to sound aloud.
Sangerne Heman, Asaf og Etan skulde slå på kobbercymbler;
20 And Zechariah and Aziel and Shemiramoth and Jehiel and Unni and Eliab and Maaseiah and Benaiah with lyres on alamoth.
Sakarja og Asiel og Semiramot og Jehiel og Unni og Eliab og Ma'aseja og Benaja skulde spille på harper efter Alamot,
21 And Mattithiah and Eliphelehu and Mikneiah and Obed-Edom and Jeiel and Azaziah with harps on the sheminith to act as overseers.

22 And Kenaniah [the] leader of the Levites in a lifting up an instructor in the lifting up for [was] a teacher he.

23 And Berekiah and Elkanah [were] gatekeepers for the ark.
Berekja og Elkana var dørvoktere ved arken.
24 And Shebaniah and Joshaphat and Nethanel and Amasai and Zechariah and Benaiah and Eliezer the priests ([were] blowing a trumpet *Q(k)*) on trumpets before [the] ark of God and Obed-Edom and Jehiah [were] gatekeepers for the ark.
Prestene Sebaina og Josafat og Netanel og Amasai og Sakarja og Benaja og Elieser blåste i trompeter foran Guds ark, og Obed-Edom og Jehia var dørvoktere ved arken.
25 And it was David and [the] elders of Israel and [the] leaders of the thousands [were] the [ones who] went to bring up [the] ark of [the] covenant of Yahweh from [the] house of Obed-Edom with joy.
Så gikk David og Israels eldste og høvedsmennene over tusen avsted for å hente Herrens pakts-ark op fra Obed-Edoms hus under jubel.
26 And it was because helped God the Levites [the] bearers of [the] ark of [the] covenant of Yahweh and they sacrificed seven young bulls and seven rams.
Og da nu Gud hjalp levittene som bar Herrens pakts-ark, ofret de syv okser og syv værer.
27 And David [was] wrapped - in a robe of fine linen and all the Levites who were carrying the ark and the singers and Kenaniah the leader the lifting up the singers and [was] on David an ephod of linen.
David var klædd i en kåpe av hvitt bomullstøi, og likeså alle de levitter som bar arken, og sangerne og Kenanja, sangmesteren, som ledet sangen; dessuten hadde David en livkjortel av lerret på.
28 And all Israel [was] bringing up [the] ark of [the] covenant of Yahweh with a shout and with [the] sound of a ram's horn and with trumpets and with cymbals sounding aloud with lyres and harps.
Og hele Israel førte Herrens pakts-ark op med fryderop og med basunklang og med trompeter og cymbler, under harpe- og citarspill.
29 And it was [the] ark of [the] covenant of Yahweh [was] coming to [the] city of David and Michal [the] daughter of Saul she looked down - through the window and she saw the king David dancing and making merry and she despised him in heart her.
Men da Herrens pakts-ark kom inn i Davids stad, da så Mikal, Sauls datter, ut gjennem vinduet, og hun så kong David hoppe og danse, og hun foraktet ham i sitt hjerte.
