5 [the] sons of Japheth Gomer and Magog and Madai and Javan and Tubal and Meshech and Tiras.
Les fils de Japheth sont Gomer, et Magog, et Madaï, et Javan, Thubal, Mosoch, Thiras;
6 And [the] sons of Gomer Ashkenaz and Diphath and Togarmah.
Or les fils de Gomer, Ascenez, Riphath et Thogorma;
7 And [the] sons of Javan [were] Elishah and Tarshish Kittim and Rodanim.
Mais les fils de Javan, Elisa et Tharsis, Cethim et Dodanim;
8 [the] sons of Ham Cush and Mizraim Put and Canaan.
Les fils de Cham, Chus, Mesraïm, Phut, et Chanaan.
9 And [the] sons of Cush Seba and Havilah and Sabta and Raamah and Sabteca and [the] sons of Raamah Sheba and Dedan.
Mais les fils de Chus, Saba, et Hévila, Sabatha, et Regma, et Sabathacha. Or les fils de Regma sont Saba et Dadan.
10 And Cush he fathered Nimrod he he began to be a mighty [man] on the earth.
Mais Chus engendra Nemrod; celui-ci commença à être puissant sur la terre.
11 And Mizraim he fathered ([the] Ludites *Q(K)*) and [the] Anamites and [the] Lehabites and [the] Naphtuhites.
Or Mesraïm engendra Ludim, Anamim, Laabim, et Nephtuim,
12 And [the] Pathrusites and [the] Casluhites whom they came forth from there [the] Philistines and [the] Caphtorites.
Ainsi que Phétrusim et Casiuim, desquels sont sortis Philistiim et Caphtorim.
13 And Canaan he fathered Sidon firstborn his and Heth.
Or Chanaan engendra Sidon, son premier-né, ainsi que Heth, et
14 And the Jebusite[s] and the Amorite[s] and the Girgashite[s].
Le Jébuséen, l’Amorrhéen, le Gergéséen,
15 And the Hivite[s] and the Arkite[s] and the Sinite[s].
L’Hévéen, l’Aracéen, le Sinéen,
16 And the Arvadite[s] and the Zemarite[s] and the Hamathite[s].
Ainsi que l’Aradien, le Samaréen et l’Amathéen.
17 [the] sons of Shem Elam and Asshur and Arphaxad and Lud and Aram and Uz and Hul and Gether and Meshech.
Les fils de Sem sont: Elam, Assur, Arphaxad, Lud, Aram, Hus, Hul, Géther et Mosoch.
18 And Arphaxad he fathered Shelah and Shelah he fathered Eber.
Or Arphaxad engendra Salé, qui lui-même engendra Héber.
19 And to Eber it was born two sons [the] name of one [was] Peleg for in days his it was divided the earth and [the] name of brother his [was] Joktan.
Mais à Héber naquirent deux fils: le nom de l’un fut Phaleg, parce qu’en ses jours la terre fut divisée; et le nom de son frère, Jectan.
20 And Joktan he fathered Almodad and Sheleph and Hazarmaveth and Jerah.
Or Jectan engendra Elmodad, Saleph, Asarmoth et Jaré,
21 And Hadoram and Uzal and Diklah.
Ainsi qu’Adoram, Huzal, Décla,
22 And Ebal and Abimael and Sheba.
Et aussi Hébal, Abimaël, Saba, et de plus
23 And Ophir and Havilah and Jobab all these [were] [the] sons of Joktan.
Ophir, Hévila, et Jobab; tous ceux-là sont les fils de Jectan:
24 Shem - Arphaxad Shelah.
Sem engendra donc Arphaxad, Salé,
25 Eber Peleg Reu.
Héber, Phaleg, Ragaü,
26 Serug Nahor Terah.
Sérug, Nachor, Tharé,
27 Abram he [is] Abraham.
Abram: c’est le même qu’Abraham.
28 [the] sons of Abraham Isaac and Ishmael.
Or les enfants d’Abraham sont Isaac et Ismahel.
29 These [were] generations their [the] firstborn of Ishmael Nebaioth and Kedar and Adbeel and Mibsam.
Et voici leurs générations. Le premier-né d’Ismahel fut Nabaïoth, ensuite Cédar, Adbéel, Mabsam,
30 Mishma and Dumah Massa Hadad and Tema.
Masma, Duma, Massa, Hadad et Théma,
31 Jetur Naphish and Kedemah these they [were] [the] sons of Ishmael.
Jétur, Naphis, Cedma; ce sont là les fils d’Ismahel.
32 And [the] sons of Keturah [the] concubine of Abraham she bore Zimran and Jokshan and Medan and Midian and Ishbak and Shuah and [the] sons of Jokshan Sheba and Dedan.
Mais les fils que Cétura, femme du second rang d’Abraham, enfanta, sont Zamran, Jecsan, Madan, Madian, Jesboc et Sué; et les fils de Jecsan, Saba et Dadan; et les fils de Dadan, Assurim, Latussim et Laomim.
33 And [the] sons of Midian Ephah and Epher and Hanoch and Abida and Eldaah all these [were] [the] sons of Keturah.
Or les fils de Madian sont Epha, Epher, Hénoch, Abida, Eldaa; tous ceux-là sont fils de Cétura.
34 And he fathered Abraham Isaac. [the] sons of Isaac Esau and Israel.
Mais Abraham engendra Isaac, dont les fils furent Esaü et Israël.
35 [the] sons of Esau Eliphaz Reuel and Jeush and Jalam and Korah.
Les fils d’Esaü, Eliphaz, Rahuel, Jéhus, Ihélom et Coré;
36 [the] sons of Eliphaz Teman and Omar Zephi and Gatam Kenaz and Timna and Amalek.
Les fils d’Eliphaz, Théman, Omar, Séphi, Gathan, Cénez, Thamna, Amalec.
37 [the] sons of Reuel Nahath Zerah Shammah and Mizzah.
Les fils de Rahuel, Nahath, Zara, Samma, Méza.
38 And [the] sons of Seir Lotan and Shobal and Zibeon and Anah and Dishon and Ezer and Dishan.
Les fils de Séir: Lotan, Sobal, Sébéon, Ana, Dison, Eser, Disan.
39 And [the] sons of Lotan Hori and Homam and [was] [the] sister of Lotan Timna.
Les fils de Lotan: Hori, Homam. Or la sœur de Lothan était Thamna.
40 [the] sons of Shobal Alyan and Manahath and Ebal Shephi and Onam. And [the] sons of Zibeon Aiah and Anah.
Les fils de Sobal: Alian, Manahath, Ebal, Séphi et Onam. Les fils de Cébéon: Aïa, et Ana. Les fils d’Ana: Dison.
41 [the] sons of Anah Dishon. And [the] sons of Dishon Hamran and Eshban and Ithran and Keran.
Les fils de Dison: Hamram, Eséban, Jéthran, et Charan.
42 [the] sons of Ezer Bilhan and Zaavan Jaakan [the] sons of Dishon Uz and Aran.
Les fils d’Eser: Balaan, Zavan, Jacan. Les fils de Disan: Hus, et Aran.
43 And these [were] the kings who they reigned in [the] land of Edom before reigned a king of [the] people of Israel Bela [the] son of Beor and [the] name of city his [was] Dinhabah.
Voici les rois qui régnèrent dans la terre d’Edom, avant qu’il y eût un roi sur les enfants d’Israël: Balé, fils de Béor, et le nom de sa ville était Dénaba.
44 And he died Bela and he reigned in place of him Jobab [the] son of Zerah from Bozrah.
Mais Balé mourut, et régna à sa place Jobab, fils de Zaré de Bosra.
45 And he died Jobab and he reigned in place of him Husham from [the] land of the Temanite[s].
Et lorsque Jobab fut mort, régna à sa place Husam, de la terre des Thémanites.
46 And he died Husham and he reigned in place of him Hadad [the] son of Bedad who struck down Midian in [the] region of Moab and [the] name of city his ([was] Avith. *Q(K)*)
Husam mourut aussi, et régna à sa place Adad, fils de Badad, qui défit les Madianites dans la terre de Moab: et le nom de sa ville était Avith.
47 And he died Hadad and he reigned in place of him Samlah from Masrekah.
Et lorsqu’Adad lui-même fut mort, régna à sa place Semla, de Masréca.
48 And he died Samlah and he reigned in place of him Shaul from Rehoboth the river.
Mais Semla aussi mourut, et régna à sa place Saül, de Rohoboth, qui est située près du fleuve.
49 And he died Shaul and he reigned in place of him Baal-Hanan [the] son of Achbor.
Saül mort aussi, régna à sa place Balanan, fils d’Achobor.
50 And he died Baal-Hanan and he reigned in place of him Hadad and [the] name of city his [was] Pai and [the] name of wife his [was] Mehetabel [the] daughter of Matred [the] daughter of Me-Zahab.
Mais celui-ci aussi mourut, et régna à sa place Adad, dont le nom de la ville fut Phaü; et sa femme s’appelait Méétabel, fille de Matred, fille elle-même de Mézaab.
51 And he died Hadad. And they were [the] chiefs of Edom chief Timna chief (Alvah *Q(K)*) chief Jetheth.
Or, Adad mort, des chefs, au lieu des rois, commencèrent à gouverner en Edom: le chef Thamna, le chef Alva, le chef Jétheth,
52 Chief Oholibamah chief Elah chief Pinon.
Le chef Oolibama, le chef Ela, le chef Phinon,
53 Chief Kenaz chief Teman chief Mibzar.
Le chef Cénez, le chef Théman, le chef Mabsar,
54 Chief Magdiel chief Iram these [were] [the] chiefs of Edom.
Le chef Magdiel, le chef Hiram; ce sont là les chefs issus d’Edom.
