Zechariah 9
1 The oracle of the word of Yahweh on the land of Hadrach, and, Damascus, shall be the resting-place thereof, —For, Yahweh, hath an eye—to mankind, and to all the tribes of Israel;
Oracolo, parola dell’Eterno, contro il paese di Hadrac, e che si ferma sopra Damasco; poiché l’Eterno ha l’occhio su tutti gli uomini e su tutte le tribù d’Israele.
2 Moreover also, Hamath, adjoineth thereto, Tyre and Zidon, —because very wise;
Essa si ferma pure sopra Hamath, ai confini di Damasco, su Tiro e Sidone perché son così savie!
3 Therefore did Tyre build a stronghold for herself, —and did heap up silver like dust, yea gold, like the mire of the lanes.
Tiro s’è costruita una fortezza, ed ha ammassato argento come polvere, e oro come fango di strada.
4 Lo! My Lord, shall dispossess her, and smite, into the sea, her fortress, —and, she herself, in fire, shall be consumed.
Ecco, l’Eterno s’impadronirà di essa, getterà la sua potenza nel mare, ed essa sarà consumata dal fuoco.
5 Ashkelon, shall see, and fear, Gaza, also, which shall writhe in great anguish, Ekron, also, because abashed is her expectation, —and the king, shall perish, from Gaza, and, Ashkelon, not be inhabited;
Askalon lo vedrà e avrà paura; anche Gaza, e si torcerà dal gran dolore; e così Ekron, perché la sua speranza sarà confusa; e Gaza non avrà più re, e Askalon non sarà più abitata.
6 And there shall be seated a half-breed in Ashdod, —So will I cut off the arrogance of the Philistines;
Dei bastardi abiteranno in Asdod, ed io annienterò l’orgoglio dei Filistei.
7 And will take away his reeking prey out of his mouth, and his abominations, from between his teeth, but, he that is left, even he, shall belong to our God, —So shall he become as a chief in Judah, and, Ekron, as a Jebusite!
Ma io toglierò il sangue della bocca del Filisteo e le abominazioni di fra i suoi denti, e anch’egli sarà un residuo per il nostro Dio; sarà come un capo in Giuda, ed Ekron, come il Gebuseo.
8 Then will I encamp about my house—against an army, against him that passeth by, and against him that returneth, neither shall an exactor, tread them down any more, —for, now, have I seen with mine own eyes.
Ed io m’accamperò attorno alla mia casa per difenderla da ogni esercito, da chi va e viene; e nessun esattor di tributi passerà più da loro; perché ora ho visto con gli occhi miei.
9 Exult greatly, O daughter of Zion, Shout in triumph, O daughter of Jerusalem, Lo! thy king, cometh unto thee, vindicated and victorious, is he, —lowly, and riding upon an ass, yea, upon a colt, a young ass.
Esulta grandemente, o figliuola di Sion, manda gridi d’allegrezza, o figliuola di Gerusalemme; ecco, il tuo re viene a te; egli è giusto e vittorioso, umile e montato sopra un asino, sopra un puledro d’asina.
10 So will he cut off the chariot out of Ephraim, and the horse out of Jerusalem, and the war-bow, shall be cut off, So shall he speak peace to the nations, and, his dominion, shall be from sea to sea, and from the river [Euphrates] to the ends of the earth.
Io farò sparire i carri da Efraim, i cavalli da Gerusalemme, e gli archi di guerra saranno annientati. Egli parlerà di pace alle nazioni, il suo dominio si estenderà da un mare all’altro, e dal fiume sino alle estremità della terra.
11 As for thee also, —By the blood of thy covenant, have I sent forth thy prisoners out of a pit, wherein is no water.
E te pure, Israele, a motivo del sangue del tuo patto, io trarrò i tuoi prigionieri dalla fossa senz’acqua.
12 Return to the stronghold, ye prisoners of hope, —Even to-day, do I declare—Double, will I return to thee!
Tornate alla fortezza, o voi prigionieri della speranza! Anch’oggi io ti dichiaro che ti renderò il doppio.
13 For I have bent for me—Judah, As a bow, have I grasped Ephraim, Thus will I rouse up thy sons, O Zion, against the sons of Greece, and will make thee as the sword of a mighty one.
Poiché io piego Giuda come un arco, armo l’arco con Efraim, e solleverò i tuoi figliuoli, o Sion, contro i tuoi figliuoli, o Javan, e ti renderò simile alla spada di un prode.
14 But, Yahweh, over them, will appear, and forth shall go, as lightning, his arrow, —Yea, My Lord Yahweh, with a horn, will blow, and will move along in the whirlwinds of the south.
L’Eterno apparirà sopra di loro, e la sua freccia partirà come un lampo. Il Signore, l’Eterno, sonerà la tromba, e avanzerà coi turbini del mezzogiorno.
15 Yahweh of hosts, will throw a covering over them, so shall they eat, and trample underfoot sling-stones, and shall drink—shall shout as with wine, —and shall be filled like tossing-bowls, —like the corners of an altar.
L’Eterno degli eserciti li proteggerà; ed essi divoreranno, calpesteranno le pietre di fionda: berranno, schiamazzeranno come eccitati dal vino, e saran pieni come coppe da sacrifizi, come i canti dell’altare.
16 So will Yahweh their God, save them, on that day. yea, as a flock of sheep, his people, —for [they shall be like] the jewels of a diadem sparkling over his land.
E l’Eterno, il loro Dio, li salverà, in quel giorno, come il gregge del suo popolo; poiché saranno come pietre d’un diadema, che rifulgeranno sulla sua terra.
17 For how excellent it is! Yea how beautiful! Corn, shall make the young men flourish, and new wine the maidens.
Poiché qual prosperità sarà la loro! e quanta sarà la loro bellezza! Il grano farà crescere i giovani, e il mosto le fanciulle.
