Zechariah 8
1 And the word of Yahweh of hosts came, saying:
万軍の主の言葉がわたしに臨んだ、
2 Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, I am jealous for Zion with a great jealousy, —Yea, with great wrath, am I jealous for her.
「万軍の主は、こう仰せられる、『わたしはシオンのために、大いなるねたみを起し、またこれがために、大いなる憤りをもってねたむ』。
3 Thus, saith Yahweh, I have returned unto Zion, and will make my habitation in the midst of Jerusalem, —and Jerusalem, shall be called, The city of fidelity, and the mountain of Yahweh of hosts, The mountain of holiness.
主はこう仰せられる、『わたしはシオンに帰って、エルサレムの中に住む。エルサレムは忠信な町ととなえられ、万軍の主の山は聖なる山と、となえられる』。
4 Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, Yet shall old men and old women sit in the broadways of Jerusalem, —Yea, each one with his staff in his hand for multitude of days:
万軍の主は、こう仰せられる、『エルサレムの街路には再び老いた男、老いた女が座するようになる。みな年寄の人々で、おのおのつえを手に持つ。
5 And, the broadways of the city, shall be full of boys and girls, —playing in the broadways thereof.
またその町の街路には、男の子、女の子が満ちて、街路に遊び戯れる』。
6 Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, Because it will be marvellous in the eyes of the remnant of this people, in those days, In mine own eyes also, shall it be marvellous? Demandeth Yahweh of hosts.
万軍の主は、こう仰せられる、『その日には、たとい、この民の残れる者の目に、不思議な事であっても、それはわたしの目にも、不思議な事であろうか』と万軍の主は言われる。
7 Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, Behold me! saving my people out of the land of the dawn, —and out of the land of the going in of the sun;
万軍の主は、こう仰せられる、『見よ、わが民を東の国から、また西の国から救い出し、
8 And I will bring them in, and they shall have their habitation in the midst of Jerusalem, —and shall become my people, and, I, will become their God, In faithfulness and in righteousness.
彼らを連れてきて、エルサレムに住まわせ、彼らはわが民となり、わたしは彼らの神となって、共に真実と正義とをもって立つ』」。
9 Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, Let your hands be strong, ye who are hearing, in these days, these words, —from the mouth of the prophets who, on the day the house of Yahweh of hosts, was founded, [foretold] that, the temple, should be built: —
万軍の主は、こう仰せられる、「万軍の主の家である宮を建てるために、その礎をすえた日からこのかた、預言者たちの口から出たこれらの言葉を、きょう聞く者よ、あなたがたの手を強くせよ。
10 That, before those days, hire for man, could not be obtained, and, hire for beast, was there none, —and, neither to him who went out nor to him who came in, was there success by reason of the danger, Yea I let all men loose, each one against his neighbour.
この日の以前には、人も働きの価を得ず、獣も働きの価を得ず、また出る者もはいる者も、あだのために安全ではなかった。わたしはまた人々を相たがいにそむかせた。
11 But, now, not as in the former days, am I to this remnant of the people, —Declareth Yahweh of hosts;
しかし今は、わたしのこの民の残れる者に対することは、さきの日のようではないと、万軍の主は言われる。
12 For, the seed, shall be secure—the vine, shall yield her fruit, and the land, yield her increase, and the heavens, yield their dew, —and I will cause this remnant of the people to inherit all these things.
そこには、平和と繁栄との種がまかれるからである。すなわちぶどうの木は実を結び、地は産物を出し、天は露を与える。わたしはこの民の残れる者に、これをことごとく与える。
13 And it shall come to pass that—Just as ye had become a curse among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, So, will I save you, and ye shall become a blessing, —Do not fear, let your hands, be strong.
ユダの家およびイスラエルの家よ、あなたがたが、国々の民の中に、のろいとなっていたように、わたしはあなたがたを救って祝福とする。恐れてはならない。あなたがたの手を強くせよ」。
14 For, thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, Just as I planned to bring calamity upon you, when your fathers provoked me, saith Yahweh of hosts, —and I relented not,
万軍の主は、こう仰せられる、「あなたがたの先祖が、わたしを怒らせた時に、災を下そうと思って、これをやめなかったように、万軍の主は言われる
15 So, have I again planned, in these days, to do good unto Jerusalem, and unto the house of Judah, —Do not fear!
そのように、わたしはまた今日、エルサレムとユダの家に恵みを与えよう。恐れてはならない。
16 These, are the things which ye shall do: Speak ye the truth, every man with his neighbour, truth and the sentence of peace, pronounce ye in your gates;
あなたがたのなすべき事はこれである。あなたがたは互に真実を語り、またあなたがたの門で、真実と平和のさばきとを、行わなければならない。
17 And let, no man, devise, the injury of his neighbour, in your heart, and the oath of falsehood, do not love, —for, all these, are things which I hate, declareth Yahweh.
あなたがたは、互に人を害することを、心に図ってはならない。偽りの誓いを好んではならない。わたしはこれらの事を憎むからであると、主は言われる」。
18 And the word of Yahweh of hosts came unto me, saying:
万軍の主の言葉がわたしに臨んだ、
19 Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts—The fast of the fourth, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the eleventh, shall become to the house of Judah a gladness and a rejoicing, and pleasant appointed meetings, —But, truth and peace, see that ye love.
「万軍の主は、こう仰せられる、四月の断食と、五月の断食と、七月の断食と、十月の断食とは、ユダの家の喜び楽しみの時となり、よき祝の時となる。ゆえにあなたがたは、真実と平和とを愛せよ。
20 Thus, saith Yahweh of hoses, —It shall yet be that there shall come in peoples, and the inhabitants of many cities;
万軍の主は、こう仰せられる、もろもろの民および多くの町の住民、すなわち、一つの町の住民は、他の町の人々のところに行き、
21 And the inhabitants of one city, shall go, unto them of another, saying, Let us be going on to pacify the face of Yahweh, and to seek Yahweh of hosts, —I also, will go!
『われわれは、ただちに行って、主の恵みを請い、万軍の主に呼び求めよう』と言うと、『わたしも行こう』と言う。
22 So shall enter many peoples, and strong nations, to seek Yahweh of hosts in Jerusalem, —and to pacify the face of Yahweh.
多くの民および強い国民はエルサレムに来て、万軍の主を求め、主の恵みを請う。
23 Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, In those days, [it shall be] that ten men out of all the tongues of the nations, shall take hold, —yea take hold of the skirt of every one that is a Jew, saying—We will go with you! For we have heard [that], God, is with you.
万軍の主は、こう仰せられる、その日には、もろもろの国ことばの民の中から十人の者が、ひとりのユダヤ人の衣のすそをつかまえて、『あなたがたと一緒に行こう。神があなたがたと共にいますことを聞いたから』と言う」。
