Zechariah 7
1 And it came to pass, in the fourth year of Darius the king, that the word of Yahweh came unto Zechariah, on the fourth of the ninth month, in Chisleu;
Och i konung Darejaves' fjärde regeringsår hände sig att HERRENS ord kom till Sakarja, på fjärde dagen i nionde månaden, det är Kisleu.
2 yea when Bethel sent Sherezer and Regemmelech, and his men, —to pacify the face of Yahweh:
Ty från Betel hade då Sareser och Regem-Melek med sina män blivit sända för att bönfalla inför HERREN;
3 to speak unto the priests that pertained to the house of Yahweh of hosts, and unto the prophets, saying, —Shall I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years?
de skulle nämligen fråga prästerna i HERREN Sebaots hus och profeterna sålunda: "Skola vi framgent hålla gråtodag och späka oss i femte månaden, såsom vi hava gjort nu i så många år?"
4 Then came the word of Yahweh of hosts unto me, saying:
Så kom då HERREN Sebaots ord till mig; han sade:
5 Speak thou unto all the people of the land, and unto the priests, saying, —When ye fasted and lamented in the fifth and in the seventh, even these seventy years, did ye, really fast, unto, me?
Säg till allt folket i landet och till prästerna: När I nu under sjuttio år haven hållit faste- och klagodagar i femte och i sjunde månaden, har det då varit åt mig som I haven hållit fasta?
6 And, when ye used to eat and when ye used to drink, was it not, of your own accord, ye did eat, and, of your own accord, ye did drink?
Och när I äten och dricken, är det icke då för eder egen räkning som I äten och dricken?
7 Should ye not [have been doing] the things which Yahweh, had proclaimed, by the hand of the former prophets, while yet Jerusalem was inhabited and in peace, with her cities round about her, —and the South and the Lowland were inhabited?
Haven I icke förnummit de ord som HERREN lät predika genom forna tiders profeter, medan Jerusalem ännu tronade i god ro med sina städer omkring sig, och medan Sydlandet och Låglandet ännu voro bebodda?
8 And the word of Yahweh came unto Zechariah, saying:
Vidare kom HERRENS ord till Sakarja; han sade:
9 Thus, spake Yahweh of hosts, saying, —With true justice, give ye judgment, and, lovingkindness and compassions, observe ye, one with another;
Så sade ju HERREN Sebaot: "Dömen rätta domar, och bevisen varandra kärlek och barmhärtighet.
10 And, the widow and the fatherless, the sojourner and the humbled, do not ye oppress, —and, wickedness between one man and another, do not ye devise in your hearts.
Förtrycken icke änkan och den faderlöse, främlingen och den fattige, och tänken icke i edra hjärtan ut ont mot varandra."
11 Howbeit they refused to give heed, but put forth a rebellious shoulder, —and, their ears, made they hard of hearing, that they might not hear;
Men de ville icke akta därpå, utan spjärnade emot i gensträvighet och tillslöto sina öron för att slippa att höra.
12 and, their heart, turned they into adamant, that they might not hear the law, nor the words which Yahweh of hosts sent by his spirit, through the former prophets, —and so there came great wrath from Yahweh of hosts.
ja, de gjorde sina hjärtan hårda såsom diamant, för att slippa att höra den lag och de ord som HERREN Sebaot genom sin Ande hade sänt, förmedelst forna tiders profeter. Därför utgick stor vrede från HERREN Sebaot.
13 Therefore came it to pass that—just as he cried out and they hearkened not, so, used they to cry out, and I used not to hearken, saith Yahweh of hosts;
Och det skedde, att likasom de icke hade velat höra, när han ropade, så sade nu HERREN Sebaot: "Jag vill icke höra, när de ropa;
14 But I whirled them over all the nations whom they had not known, and, the land, was made desolate after them, that none passed through and returned, —Yea they made of a delightful land—a desolation.
utan jag skall förströ dem såsom genom en stormvind bland allahanda hednafolk som de icke känna." Så har nu landet blivit öde efter dem, så att ingen färdas där, vare sig fram eller tillbaka; ty de hava så gjort det ljuvliga landet till en ödemark.
