< Zechariah 2 >

1 Then lifted I up mine eyes and looked, and lo! a Man, —and, in his hand, a Measuring Line.
Dia natopiko ny masoko, ka hitako fa, indro, nisy lehilahy manana kofehy famolaina eny an-tànany.
2 And I said, Whither art thou going? And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what [should be] the breadth thereof, and what the length thereof.
Dia hoy izaho: Ho aiza moa ianao? Ary hoy izy tamiko: Handrefy an’ i Jerosalema hizaha ny sakany sy ny lavany aho.
3 And lo! the messenger who was talking with me, coming forward, —and another messenger, coming forward to meet him.
Ary, indro, nivoaka ilay anjely niresaka tamiko, ary nisy anjely anankiray koa nivoaka hitsena azy
4 So he said unto him, Run, speak unto this young man, saying: Like open villages, shall Jerusalem remain, for the multitude of men and cattle in her midst;
ka nanao taminy hoe: Mihazakazaha, ka milazà amin’ io zatovo io hoe: Honenana toy ny tanana tsy mimanda Jerosalema noho ny hamaroan’ ny olona sy ny biby fiompy ao aminy.
5 And, I, will become to her, declareth Yahweh, A wall of fire round about, —and, a glory, will I become in her midst.
Fa Izaho, hoy Jehovah, ho manda afo manodidina azy ary ho voninahitra ao afovoany.
6 Ho! ho! flee ye, therefore, out of the land of the North, urgeth Yahweh. For, as the four winds of the heavens, have I spread you abroad, declareth Yahweh.
He! he! mandosira avy any amin’ ny tany avaratra, hoy Jehovah; fa aeliko ho toy ny rivotra efatry ny lanitra ianareo, hoy Jehovah.
7 Ho! Zion, deliver thyself, —thou that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon. For,
He! vonjeo ny tenanao, ry Ziona, izay monina ao Babylona zanakavavy.
8 Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, For his own honour, hath he sent me unto the nations that are spoiling you, —Surely, he that toucheth you, toucheth the pupil of mine eye.
Fa izao no lazain’ i Jehovah, Tompon’ ny maro: Hampiseho voninahitra no nanirahany ahy tany amin’ ny firenena izay namabo anareo; fa izay mikasika anareo dia mikasika ny anakandriamasony.
9 For behold me! brandishing my hand over them, and they shall become a spoil unto their own slaves, —and ye shall know that, Yahweh of hosts, hath sent me.
Fa, indro, hahinjitro eo amboniny ny tanako, ka hobaboin’ ireo nanompo azy izy; dia ho fantatrareo fa Jehovah, Tompon’ ny maro, no naniraka ahy.
10 Sing out and rejoice, O daughter of Zion, —For behold me! coming in, and I will make my habitation in thy midst, declareth Yahweh.
Mihobia sy mifalia, ry Ziona zanakavavy, fa, indro, avy honina ao afovoanao Aho, hoy Jehovah.
11 Then shall many nations, join themselves, unto Yahweh, in that day, and shall become my people, —and I will make my habitation in thy midst, so shalt thou know that, Yahweh of hosts, hath sent me unto thee.
Ary firenena maro no hanaiky ho an’ i Jehovah amin’ izany andro izany ka ho oloko; ary hitoetra ao afovoanao aho, ka dia ho fantatrao fa Jehovah, Tompon’ ny maro, no naniraka ahy ho aminao.
12 Thus will Yahweh inherit Judah, his portion, on the soil of the sanctuary, —and make choice, yet again, of Jerusalem.
Ary Jehovah hanana an’ i Joda ho anjarany ao amin’ ny tany masìna ary mbola hifidy an’ i Jerosalema indray.
13 Hush! all flesh, before Yahweh, —For he hath roused himself up out of his holy dwelling.
Mangìna eo anatrehan’ i Jehovah, ry nofo rehetra! fa nifoha avy ao amin’ ny fitoerany masìna Izy.
