Zechariah 2
1 Then lifted I up mine eyes and looked, and lo! a Man, —and, in his hand, a Measuring Line.
Felemelém ismét szemeimet, és ímé, láték egy férfiút és a kezében mérő-kötelet.
2 And I said, Whither art thou going? And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what [should be] the breadth thereof, and what the length thereof.
És mondám: Hová mégy te? És mondá nékem: Megmérni Jeruzsálemet, hogy lássam: mennyi a széle és mennyi a hossza?
3 And lo! the messenger who was talking with me, coming forward, —and another messenger, coming forward to meet him.
És ímé, az angyal, a ki beszél vala velem, kijöve, és más angyal is kijöve eléje.
4 So he said unto him, Run, speak unto this young man, saying: Like open villages, shall Jerusalem remain, for the multitude of men and cattle in her midst;
És monda annak: Fuss, és szólj e gyermekhez, mondván: Kerítetlenül fogják lakni Jeruzsálemet a benne levő emberek és barmok sokasága miatt.
5 And, I, will become to her, declareth Yahweh, A wall of fire round about, —and, a glory, will I become in her midst.
Én pedig, szól az Úr, tűz-fal leszek körülötte és megdicsőítem magamat ő benne!
6 Ho! ho! flee ye, therefore, out of the land of the North, urgeth Yahweh. For, as the four winds of the heavens, have I spread you abroad, declareth Yahweh.
Jaj, jaj! Fussatok ki az északi földről, így szól az Úr, mert az ég négy szele felé szórtalak szét titeket, szól az Úr.
7 Ho! Zion, deliver thyself, —thou that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon. For,
Jaj Sion! Szabadítsd ki magadat, ki Babilon leányánál lakozol.
8 Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, For his own honour, hath he sent me unto the nations that are spoiling you, —Surely, he that toucheth you, toucheth the pupil of mine eye.
Mert így szól a Seregeknek Ura: Dicsőség után küldött engem a pogányokhoz, a kik fosztogatnak titeket, mert a ki titeket bánt, az ő szemefényét bántja.
9 For behold me! brandishing my hand over them, and they shall become a spoil unto their own slaves, —and ye shall know that, Yahweh of hosts, hath sent me.
Mert ímé én felemelem kezemet ellenök, és saját szolgáik prédájává lesznek, és megtudjátok, hogy a Seregeknek Ura küldött el engem.
10 Sing out and rejoice, O daughter of Zion, —For behold me! coming in, and I will make my habitation in thy midst, declareth Yahweh.
Örülj és örvendezz, Sionnak leánya, mert ímé elmegyek és közötted lakozom! így szól az Úr.
11 Then shall many nations, join themselves, unto Yahweh, in that day, and shall become my people, —and I will make my habitation in thy midst, so shalt thou know that, Yahweh of hosts, hath sent me unto thee.
És sok pogány csatlakozik azon a napon az Úrhoz, és népemmé lesznek, és közötted lakozom, és megtudod, hogy a Seregeknek Ura küldött hozzád engem.
12 Thus will Yahweh inherit Judah, his portion, on the soil of the sanctuary, —and make choice, yet again, of Jerusalem.
És birtokba veszi az Úr Júdát, mint az ő osztályrészét a szent földön, és újra magáévá fogadja Jeruzsálemet.
13 Hush! all flesh, before Yahweh, —For he hath roused himself up out of his holy dwelling.
Hallgasson minden test az Úr előtt: mert felkelt az ő szentséges helyéről.
