< Romans 13 >
1 Let, every soul, unto protecting authorities be in subjection; for there is no authority save by God, and, they that are in being, have by God been arranged, —
Kí olúkúlùkù ọkàn kí ó foríbalẹ̀ fún àwọn aláṣẹ tí ó wà ní ipò gíga. Nítorí kò sí àṣẹ kan, bí kò ṣe láti ọ̀dọ̀ Ọlọ́run wá; àwọn aláṣẹ tí ó sì wà, láti ọ̀dọ̀ Ọlọ́run ni a ti lànà rẹ̀ wá.
2 So that, he who rangeth himself against the authority, against the arrangement of God opposeth himself, and, they who oppose, shall unto themselves a sentence of judgment receive.
Nítorí ẹni tí ó bá tàpá sí àṣẹ, ó tàpá sí ìlànà Ọlọ́run; àwọn ẹni tí ó ba sì ń tàpá, yóò gba ẹ̀bi fún ara wọn.
3 For, they who bear rule, are not a terror unto the good work but unto the evil. Wouldst thou not be afraid of the authority? That which is good, be thou doing, and thou shall have praise of the same;
Nítorí àwọn ìjòyè kò wá láti dẹ́rùbà àwọn tí ń ṣe rere, bí kò ṣe àwọn tó ń ṣe búburú. Ǹjẹ́ ìwọ ha fẹ́ di òmìnira kúrò nínú ẹ̀rù ẹni tó wà ní ipò àṣẹ. Nítorí náà ṣe èyí tó ó dára, ìwọ yóò sì gba ìyìn láti ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ̀.
4 For, God’s minister, is he unto thee for that which is good. But, if, that which is evil, thou be doing, be afraid! For, not in vain, the sword he beareth; for, God’s minister, he is, —an avenger, unto anger, to him who practiseth what is evil.
Nítorí ìránṣẹ́ Ọlọ́run ni i ṣe fún ọ́ sí rere. Ṣùgbọ́n bí ìwọ bá ń ṣé búburú, máa bẹ̀rù, nítorí kò gbé idà náà lásán. Nítorí ìránṣẹ́ Ọlọ́run ní í ṣe, olùgbẹ̀san láti ṣiṣẹ́ ìbínú lára ẹni tí ń ṣe búburú.
5 Wherefore it is necessary to be in subjection, —not only because of the anger, but also because of the conscience;
Nítorí náà, ẹ̀yin kò gbọdọ̀ má tẹríba fún àwọn aláṣẹ, kì í ṣe nítorí ti ìbínú nìkan, ṣùgbọ́n nítorí ẹ̀rí ọkàn pẹ̀lú.
6 For, because of this, are ye paying tribute also, —for, God’s ministers of state, they are, unto this very thing, giving constant attendance.
Nítorí ìdí èyí, ẹ san owó òde pẹ̀lú, nítorí ìránṣẹ́ Ọlọ́run ni wọ́n, èyí náà ni wọ́n ń bojútó nígbà gbogbo.
7 Render unto all their dues, —unto whom tribute, tribute, unto whom tax, tax, unto whom fear, fear, unto whom honour, honour.
Ẹ san ohun tí ó tọ́ fún ẹni gbogbo: owó òde fún ẹni tí owó òde í ṣe tirẹ̀: owó bodè fún ẹni tí owó bodè í ṣe tirẹ̀: ẹ̀rù fún ẹni tí ẹ̀rù í ṣe tirẹ̀; ọlá fún ẹni tí ọlá í ṣe tirẹ̀.
8 Nothing to any, be owing—save to be loving one another; for, he that loveth his neighbour, hath given to, law, its fulfillment.
Ẹ má ṣe jẹ ẹnikẹ́ni ní gbèsè ohun kan, bí kò ṣe pé kí a fẹ́ ọmọ ẹnìkejì ẹni, nítorí ẹni tí ó bá fẹ́ ọmọnìkejì rẹ̀, ó kó òfin já.
9 For, this—Thou shall not commit adultery, Thou shall not commit murder, Thou shall not steal, Thou shall not covet, and if there is any different commandment, in this word, is summed up, [namely]—Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Àwọn òfin, “Ìwọ kò gbọdọ̀ ṣe panṣágà,” “Ìwọ kò gbọdọ̀ pànìyàn,” “Ìwọ kò gbọdọ̀ jalè,” “Ìwọ kò gbọdọ̀ jẹ́rìí èké,” “Ìwọ kò gbọdọ̀ ṣe ojúkòkòrò,” bí òfin mìíràn bá sì wà, ni a papọ̀ ṣọ̀kan nínú òfin kan yìí: “Fẹ́ ẹnìkéjì rẹ gẹ́gẹ́ bí ara rẹ̀.”
10 Love, unto one’s neighbour, worketh not ill; Law’s fullness, therefore, is, love.
Ìfẹ́ kì í ṣe ohun búburú sí ọmọnìkejì rẹ̀, nítorí náà ìfẹ́ ni àkójá òfin.
11 And, this besides, —knowing the season—that it is an hour already for you out of sleep to be wakened; for, now, is our salvation nearer than when we believed:
Àti èyí, bí ẹ̀yin ti mọ àkókò pé, ó ti tó wákàtí nísinsin yìí fún yín láti jí lójú orun, nítorí nísinsin yìí ni ìgbàlà wa súnmọ́ etílé ju ìgbà tí àwa ti gbàgbọ́ lọ.
12 The night, is far spent and, the day, hath drawn near; let us, then, cast off the works of darkness, [and] let us put on the armour of light, —
Òru bù kọjá tan, ilẹ̀ sì fẹ́rẹ mọ́: nítorí náà ẹ jẹ́ kí a bọ́ ara iṣẹ́ òkùnkùn sílẹ̀, kí a sì gbé ìhámọ́ra ìmọ́lẹ̀ wọ̀.
13 As in daytime, becomingly let us walk: not in revellings and in drunken bouts, not in chamberings and in wanton deeds, not in strife and envy; —
Jẹ́ kí a má rin ìrìn títọ́, bí ní ọ̀sán; kì í ṣe ní ìréde òru àti ní ìmutípara, kì í ṣe ni ìwà èérí àti wọ̀bìà, kì í ṣe ní ìjà àti ìlara.
14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and, for the flesh, take not forethought to fulfil its covetings.
Ṣùgbọ́n ẹ gbé Jesu Kristi Olúwa wọ̀, kí ẹ má sì pèsè fún ara, láti máa mú ìfẹ́kúfẹ̀ẹ́ rẹ̀ ṣẹ.
