< Romans 10 >

1 Brethren! the delight of my own heart and my supplication God-ward in their behalf, are for salvation;
ⲁ̅ⲛⲁ⳿ⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⳿ⲡϯⲙⲁϯ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲁϩⲏⲧ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲁⲧⲱⲃϩ ⳿ⲉϯⲣⲁ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϩⲁ ⲫϯ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲛⲟϩⲉⲙ.
2 For I bear them witness that they have, a zeal for God, —but not according to correct knowledge;
ⲃ̅ϯⲉⲣⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲭⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ⲉⲧϣⲟⲡ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ⲁⲛ.
3 For, not knowing God’s righteousness and, their own, seeking to establish, unto the righteousness of God, have they not submitted;
ⲅ̅ⲉⲩⲟⲃϣ ⲅⲁⲣ ⳿ⲉϯⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲩⲕⲱϯ ⳿ⲛⲥⲁ ⲥⲉⲙⲛⲉ ⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙⲙⲓⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙⲡⲟⲩϭⲛⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉϯⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ.
4 For Christ is an end of law, for righteousness, unto every one that believeth.
ⲇ̅⳿ⲡϫⲱⲕ ⲅⲁⲣ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲩⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏ ⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲑⲛⲁϩϯ.
5 For, Moses, writeth that—as touching the righteousness that is by law, The man that hath done [it], shall live thereby;
ⲉ̅ⲙⲱ⳿ⲩⲥⲏⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁϥ⳿ⲥϧⲁⲓ ϫⲉ ϯⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ ϯ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲫⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⳿ⲫⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲉⲑⲛⲁⲁⲓⲥ ⲉϥ⳿ⲉⲱⲛϧ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧⲥ.
6 Whereas, the righteousness by faith, thus speaketh—Do not say in thy heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? That is, to bring, Christ, down,
ⲋ̅ϯⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ ⲇⲉ ϯ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲫⲛⲁϩϯ ⳿ϥϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉⲣϫⲟⲥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉⲕϩⲏ ⲧ ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲩⲛⲁ⳿ϣϣⲉ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲡϣⲱⲓ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲧⲫⲉ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉϥ⳿ⲓⲛⲓ ⳿ⲙⲠⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⳿ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ.
7 Or, Who shall descend into the abyss? That is, to bring up, Christ, from among the dead; (Abyssos g12)
ⲍ̅ⲓⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲑⲛⲁ⳿ϣϣⲉ ⳿ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲫⲛⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉϥ⳿ⲓⲛⲓ ⳿ⲙⲠⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲡϣⲱⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲏⲉⲑⲙⲱⲟⲩⲧ. (Abyssos g12)
8 But what saith it? Near thee, is the declaration, In thy mouth and in thy heart, —that is, the declaration of the faith, which we proclaim: —
ⲏ̅ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲧⲉ ϯ⳿ⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ ϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⳿ϥϧⲉⲛⲧ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟⲕ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲡⲓⲥⲁϫⲓ ⳿ϥⲭⲏ ϧⲉⲛ ⲣⲱⲕ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ϥⲭⲏ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉⲕϩⲏⲧ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲡⲥⲁϫⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲫⲛⲁϩϯ ⲉⲧⲉⲛϩⲓⲱⲓϣ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ.
9 That, if thou shalt confess the declaration with thy mouth—That Jesus is, Lord, and shalt believe with thy hear—That, God, raised him from among the dead, thou shalt be saved; —
ⲑ̅ϫⲉ ⲉϣⲱⲡ ⲁⲕϣⲁⲛⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲣⲱⲕ ϫⲉ Ⲡ⳪ ⲡⲉ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲕⲛⲁϩϯ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉⲕϩⲏⲧ ϫⲉ ⲁ ⲫϯ ⲧⲟⲩⲛⲟⲥϥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲏⲉⲑⲙⲱⲟⲩⲧ ⲉⲕ⳿ⲉⲛⲟϩⲉⲙ.
10 For, in heart, it is to be believed unto righteousness, and, by mouth, it is to be confessed unto salvation.
ⲓ̅ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓϩⲏⲧ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲥⲉⲛⲁϩϯ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲉⲩⲙⲉⲑⲙⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲣⲱⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲥⲉⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲩⲛⲟϩⲉⲙ.
11 For the scripture saith—No one that resteth faith thereupon, shall be put to shame?
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅⳿ⲥϫⲱ ⲅⲁⲣ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ϯ⳿ⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲑⲛⲁϩϯ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉϥϭⲓϣⲓⲡⲓ.
12 For there is no distinction—of Jew or Greek, —for, the same [Lord], is Lord of all, being rich unto all who call upon him;
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲫⲱⲣϫ ⲅⲁⲣ ϣⲟⲡ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲓⲟⲩⲉⲓⲛⲓⲛ ⲡⲁⲓ⳪ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉϥⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛⲣⲁⲙⲁ⳿ⲟ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲧⲱϣ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⲟⲩⲃⲏϥ.
13 For, Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved: —
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲉⲑⲛⲁⲧⲱⲃϩ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲁⲛ ⳿ⲙⲠ⳪ ⲉϥ⳿ⲉⲛⲟϩⲉⲙ.
14 How, then, shall men call upon one in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in one of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear, without one to proclaim?
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲡⲱⲥ ⲟⲩⲛ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲧⲱⲃϩ ⳿ⲙⲫⲏⲉⲧⲉ ⳿ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲛⲁϩϯ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲡⲱⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲛⲁϩϯ ⳿ⲙⲫⲏⲉⲧⲉ ⳿ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲥⲟⲑⲙⲉϥ ⲡⲱⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲁⲧϭⲛⲉ ⲫⲏⲉⲧϩⲓⲱⲓϣ.
15 And how shall they proclaim, except they be sent? Even as it is written—How beautiful the feet of them that bring glad tidings of good things!
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲡⲱⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲥⲉⲛⲁϩⲓⲱⲓϣ ⲁⲩ⳿ϣⲧⲉⲙⲟⲩⲟⲣⲡⲟⲩ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲉⲧ⳿ⲥϧⲏⲟⲩⲧ ϫⲉ ϩⲱⲥ ⲉⲛⲉⲥⲉ ⲛⲉⲛϭⲁⲗⲁⲩϫ ⳿ⲛⲛⲏⲉⲧϩⲓϣⲉⲛⲛⲟⲩϥⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲓⲡⲉⲑⲛⲁⲛⲉⲩ.
16 But, not all, have become obedient unto the glad tidings; —for, Isaiah, saith—Lord! who believed what we have heard?
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⳿ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲥⲁ ⲡⲓⲉⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲟⲛ ⲏⲥⲁ⳿ⲏⲁⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⳿ϥϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ Ⲡ⳪ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲡⲉⲧⲁϥⲛⲁϩϯ ⳿ⲉⲧⲉⲛ⳿ⲥⲙⲏ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲡϣⲱⲃϣ ⳿ⲙⲠ⳪ ⲉⲧⲁϥϭⲱⲣⲡ ⳿ⲉⲛⲓⲙ.
17 Hence, our faith, cometh by something heard, and, that which is heard, through a declaration of Christ.
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ϩⲁⲣⲁ ⳿ⲫⲛⲁϩϯ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲡⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲡⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲡⲥⲁϫⲓ ⳿ⲙⲠⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲡⲉ.
18 But I say: Have they not heard? Yea indeed, —into all the earth, hath gone forth their sound, and, unto the ends of the inhabited world, their declarations.
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ϯϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲙⲏ ⳿ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲙⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲛ ⲅⲉ ⲁ ⲡⲟⲩ⳿ϧⲣⲱⲟⲩ ϣⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓϫⲉⲛ ⳿ⲡⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲁⲩⲫⲟϩ ϣⲁ ⲁⲩⲣⲏϫⲥ ⳿ⲛϯⲟⲓⲕⲟⲩⲙⲉⲛⲏ.
19 But I say: Hath, Israel, not come to know? First, Moses, saith—I, will provoke you to jealousy on account of a no-nation, on account of an undiscerning nation, will I make you very angry.
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ϯϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲙⲏ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉ ⳿ⲡⲓⲥ̅ⲗ̅ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉϥ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ⳿ⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲙⲱ⳿ⲩⲥⲏⲥ ϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲉⲓ⳿ⲉϯⲭⲟϩ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲡⲉⲧⲉ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛⲁⲧⲕⲁϯ ⲉⲓ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲑⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛϫⲱⲛⲧ.
20 Isaiah, however, waxeth daring, and saith, —I have been found by them who after me were not seeking, manifest have I become unto them who for me were not enquiring;
ⲕ̅ⲏⲥⲁ⳿ⲏⲁⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲉⲣⲧⲟⲗⲙⲁⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲩϫⲉⲙⲧ ⳿ⲛⲛⲏⲉⲧⲉ⳿ⲛⲥⲉⲕⲱϯ ⳿ⲛⲥⲱⲓ ⲁⲛ ⲁⲓⲟⲩⲟⲛϩⲧ ⳿ⲉⲛⲏ ⳿ⲉⲧⲉ⳿ⲛⲥⲉϣⲓⲛⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲓ ⲁⲛ.
21 Whereas, regarding Israel, he saith—All day long, have I stretched forth my hands unto a people unyielding and contradicting.
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅⳿ϥϫⲱ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⳿ⲡⲓⲥ̅ⲗ̅ ϫⲉ ⲁⲓⲫⲱⲣϣ ⳿ⲛⲛⲁϫⲓϫ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲟⲩⲃⲉ ⲟⲩⲗⲁⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛⲁⲧⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ϥⲉⲣⲁⲛⲧⲓⲗⲉⲅⲓⲛ
