Revelation 1
1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave to him, to point out unto his servants the things which must needs come to pass with speed, —and he shewed them by signs, sending through his messenger, unto his servant John;
Révélation de Jésus-Christ que Dieu lui a donnée pour découvrir à ses serviteurs ce qui doit arriver bientôt, et il l’a fait connaître, en l’envoyant par son ange à Jean, son serviteur,
2 who bare witness as to the word of God, and the witness of Jesus Christ, —whatsoever things he saw.
Qui a rendu témoignage à la parole de Dieu, et le témoignage de Jésus-Christ en tout ce qu’il a vu.
3 Happy! he that readeth, and they who hear, the words of the prophecy, and keep the things, therein, written; for, the season, is, near.
Bienheureux celui qui lit et écoute les paroles de cette prophétie, et garde les choses qui y sont écrites; car le temps est proche.
4 John, unto the Seven Assemblies which are in Asia, Favour to you, and peace, from—Him who Is, and who Was, and who is Coming, and from—The Seven Spirits which are before his throne,
Jean, aux sept Églises qui sont en Asie: Grâce à vous et paix par celui qui est, qui était, et qui doit venir, et par les sept esprits qui sont devant son trône;
5 and from—Jesus Christ, —The Faithful Witness, The Firstborn of the Dead, and The Ruler of the Kings of the Earth. Unto him that loveth us, and loosed us out of our sins with his blood, —
Et par Jésus-Christ qui est le témoin fidèle, le premier-né des morts, et le prince des rois de la terre, qui nous a aimés et nous a lavés de nos péchés dans son sang,
6 and he hath made us [to be] a kingdom—priests unto his God and Father, Unto him, be the glory, and the dominion, unto the ages. Amen. (aiōn g165)
Et nous a faits le royaume et les prêtres de Dieu son Père: à lui la gloire et l’empire dans les siècles des siècles. Amen. (aiōn g165)
7 Lo! he cometh with the clouds, and every eye shall see him, such also as pierced him; and all the tribes of the land shall smite themselves for him. Yea! Amen.
Le voici qui vient sur les nuées, et tout œil le verra; et même ceux qui l’ont percé. Et toutes les tribus de la terre se frapperont la poitrine à cause de lui. Oui. Amen.
8 I, am, the A, and, the Z, saith the Lord, —the, God who Is, and who Was, and who is Coming, The Almighty.
Je suis l’Alpha et l’Oméga, le commencement et la fin, dit le Seigneur Dieu, qui est, qui était et qui doit venir, le Tout-Puissant.
9 I, John, your brother, and partaker with you in the tribulation and kingdom and endurance in Jesus, came to be in the isle that is called Patmos, because of the word of God, and the witness of Jesus.
Moi, Jean, votre frère, qui ai part à la tribulation, au règne et à la patience en Jésus-Christ, j’ai été dans l’île de Patmos, pour la parole de Dieu et pour le témoignage de Jésus.
10 I came to be, in Spirit, in the Lord’s Day, and heard, behind me, a loud voice, as of a trumpet,
Je fus ravi en esprit le jour du Seigneur, et j’entendis derrière moi une voix éclatante comme d’une trompette,
11 saying—What thou seest, write in a scroll, and send unto the Seven Assemblies, —unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamum, —and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, —and unto Laodicea.
Disant: Ce que tu vois, écris-le dans un livre et envoie-le aux sept Églises qui sont en Asie: à Ephèse, à Smyrne, à Pergame, à Thyatire, à Sardes, à Philadelphie et à Laodicée.
12 And I turned round, to see the Voice which was speaking with me, and, having turned, I saw Seven Lamps of gold;
Et je me tournai pour voir la voix qui me parlait; et m’étant tourné, je vis sept chandeliers d’or;
13 and, in the midst of the lamps, One like unto a Son of Man: —clothed with a robe, reaching to the feet, and girt about at the breasts with a girdle of gold,
Et au milieu des sept chandeliers d’or, quelqu’un qui ressemblait au Fils de l’homme, vêtu d’une longue robe, et ceint au-dessous des mamelles d’une ceinture d’or.
14 And his head and hair, white, like white wool—like snow, and, his eyes, like a flame of fire,
Sa tête et ses cheveux étaient blancs comme de la laine blanche et comme de la neige, et ses yeux comme une flamme de feu.
15 And, his feet, like unto glowing copper, as if in a furnace refined, and, his voice, like a sound of many waters,
Ses pieds étaient semblables à de l’airain fin, quand il est dans une fournaise ardente, et sa voix comme la voix de grandes eaux.
16 And, having in his right hand, seven stars, and, out of his mouth, a sharp, two-edged sword, going forth; and, his whole appearance, as when, the sun, shineth in its strength.
Il avait sept étoiles dans sa main droite; de sa bouche sortait une épée à deux tranchants, et son visage était lumineux comme le soleil dans sa force.
17 And, when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead, and he laid his right hand upon me, saying—Do not fear! I, am the First, and the Last,
Et lorsque je l’eus vu, je tombai à ses pieds comme mort. Mais il mit sa main droite sur moi, disant: Ne crains point, je suis le premier et le dernier,
19 Write, therefore—what things thou hast seen and what they are; and what things are about to come to pass, after these things:
Ecris donc les choses que tu as vues, celles qui sont, et celles qui doivent arriver ensuite.
20 The sacred secret of the seven stars, which thou sawest upon my right hand, and the seven lamps of gold: —The seven stars, are, messengers of the seven assemblies, and, the seven lamps, are, seven assemblies
Voici le mystère des sept étoiles que tu as vues dans ma main droite, et des sept chandeliers: Les sept étoiles sont les sept anges des sept Églises, et les sept chandeliers sont les sept Églises.
