Revelation 9
1 And, the fifth messenger, sounded; and I saw a star, out of heaven, fallen unto the earth, and there was given unto him the key of the shaft of the abyss. (Abyssos g12)
Και ο πέμπτος άγγελος εσάλπισε· και είδον ότι έπεσεν εις την γην αστήρ εκ του ουρανού, και εδόθη εις αυτόν το κλειδίον του φρέατος της αβύσσου. (Abyssos g12)
2 And he opened the shaft of the abyss; and there came up a smoke out of the shaft, as the smoke of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened, by reason of the smoke of the shaft. (Abyssos g12)
Και ήνοιξε το φρέαρ της αβύσσου, και ανέβη καπνός εκ του φρέατος ως καπνός καμίνου μεγάλης, και εσκοτίσθη ο ήλιος και ο αήρ εκ του καπνού του φρέατος. (Abyssos g12)
3 And, out of the smoke, came forth, locusts, upon the earth; and there was given unto them licence, as the scorpions of the earth have licence.
Και εκ του καπνού εξήλθον ακρίδες εις την γην, και εδόθη εις αυτάς εξουσία ως έχουσιν εξουσίαν οι σκορπίοι της γής·
4 And it was bidden them that they should not injure the herbage of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree, —but only the men who have not the seal of God upon their foreheads.
και ερρέθη προς αυτάς να μη βλάψωσι τον χόρτον της γης μηδέ κανέν χλωρόν μηδέ κανέν δένδρον, ειμή τους ανθρώπους μόνους, οίτινες δεν έχουσι την σφραγίδα του Θεού επί των μετώπων αυτών.
5 And it was given unto them, that they should not slay them, but that they should be tormented five months; and, the torture of them, was as of a scorpion’s torture, whensoever it smiteth a man.
Και εδόθη εις αυτάς να μη θανατώσωσιν αυτούς, αλλά να βασανισθώσι πέντε μήνας· και ο βασανισμός αυτών ήτο ως βασανισμός σκορπίου, όταν κτυπήση άνθρωπον.
6 And, in those days, shall men seek death, and in nowise shall find it, and shall covet to die, and death fleeth from them.
Και εν ταις ημέραις εκείναις θέλουσι ζητήσει οι άνθρωποι τον θάνατον και δεν θέλουσιν ευρεί αυτόν, και θέλουσιν επιθυμήσει να αποθάνωσι, και ο θάνατος θέλει φύγει απ' αυτών.
7 And, the likenesses of the locusts, were like unto horses prepared for battle; and, upon their heads, as it were crowns, like unto gold, and, their faces, were as the faces of men,
Και αι μορφαί των ακρίδων ήσαν όμοιαι με ίππους ητοιμασμένους εις πόλεμον, και επί τας κεφαλάς αυτών ήσαν ως στέφανοι όμοιοι με χρυσόν, και τα πρόσωπα αυτών ως πρόσωπα ανθρώπων.
8 and, they had hair, as the hair of women, and, their teeth, were, as of lions,
Και είχον τρίχας ως τρίχας γυναικών, και οι οδόντες αυτών ήσαν ως λεόντων,
9 and they had breastplates as breastplates of iron, and, the sound of their wings, was as the sound of chariots of many horses, running into battle;
και είχον θώρακας ως θώρακας σιδηρούς, και η φωνή των πτερύγων αυτών ήτο ως φωνή αμαξών ίππων πολλών τρεχόντων εις πόλεμον.
10 and they have tails like unto scorpions, and stings, and, in their tails, is their licence to injure men five months.
Και είχον ουράς ομοίας με σκορπίους και ήσαν κέντρα εις τας ουράς αυτών, και η εξουσία αυτών ήτο να βλάψωσι τους ανθρώπους πέντε μήνας.
11 They have over them, as king, the messenger of the abyss, whose name, in Hebrew, is Abaddon, and, in the Greek, he hath for name, Destroyer. (Abyssos g12)
Και είχον εφ' εαυτών βασιλέα τον άγγελον της αβύσσου, όστις Εβραϊστί ονομάζεται Αβαδδών, και εις την Ελληνικήν έχει όνομα Απολλύων. (Abyssos g12)
12 The first, Woe, hath passed away, lo! there come, yet, two, Woes, after these things.
Η ουαί η μία απήλθεν· ιδού, έρχονται έτι δύο ουαί μετά ταύτα.
13 And, the sixth messenger, sounded; and I heard one voice, from among the horns of the altar of gold which is before God,
Και ο έκτος άγγελος εσάλπισε· και ήκουσα μίαν φωνήν εκ των τεσσάρων κεράτων του θυσιαστηρίου του χρυσού του ενώπιον του Θεού,
14 saying unto the sixth messenger, who was holding the trumpet—Loose the four messengers, who are bound at the great river Euphrates.
λέγουσαν προς τον έκτον άγγελον, όστις είχε την σάλπιγγα· Λύσον τους τέσσαρας αγγέλους τους δεδεμένους εις τον μέγαν ποταμόν Ευφράτην.
15 And the four messengers were loosed, who had been prepared for the hour, and day, and month, and year, that they should slay the third of men.
Και ελύθησαν οι τέσσαρες άγγελοι, οι ητοιμασμένοι εις την ώραν και ημέραν και μήνα και ενιαυτόν, διά να θανατώσωσι το τρίτον των ανθρώπων.
16 And, the number of the armies of the horsemen, was twice ten thousand times ten thousand—I heard the number of them.
Και ο αριθμός των στρατευμάτων του ιππικού ήτο δύο μυριάδες μυριάδων· και ήκουσα τον αριθμόν αυτών.
17 And, thus, saw I the horses in the vision, —and them who were sitting upon them, having breastplates as of fire and hyacinth and brimstone; —and, the heads of the horses, were as heads of lions, and, out of their mouths, come forth fire and smoke and brimstone:
Και ούτως είδον τους ίππους εν τη οράσει και τους καθημένους επ' αυτών, ότι είχον θώρακας πυρίνους και υακινθίνους και θειώδεις· και αι κεφαλαί των ίππων ήσαν ως κεφαλαί λεόντων, και εκ των στομάτων αυτών εξήρχετο πυρ και καπνός και θείον.
18 by these three plagues, were slain, the third part of mankind, by reason of the fire and the smoke and the brimstone, that proceedeth out of their mouths;
Υπό των τριών τούτων εθανατώθησαν το τρίτον των ανθρώπων· εκ του πυρός και εκ του καπνού και εκ του θείου του εξερχομένου εκ των στομάτων αυτών.
19 for, the licence of the horses, is, in their mouth, and in their tails, for, their tails, are like unto serpents, having heads, and, with them, they injure.
Διότι αι εξουσίαι αυτών είναι εν τω στόματι αυτών, επειδή αι ουραί αυτών είναι όμοιαι με όφεις, έχουσαι κεφαλάς, και με αυτάς βλάπτουσι.
20 And, the rest of mankind who were not slain by these plagues, repented not of the works of their hands, —that they should not do homage unto the demons, nor unto the idols of gold and of silver and of copper and of stone and of wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk;
Και οι λοιποί των ανθρώπων, οίτινες δεν εθανατώθησαν με τας πληγάς ταύτας, ούτε μετενόησαν από των έργων των χειρών αυτών, ώστε να μη προσκυνήσωσι τα δαιμόνια και τα είδωλα τα χρυσά και τα αργυρά και τα χάλκινα και τα λίθινα και τα ξύλινα, τα οποία ούτε να βλέπωσι δύνανται ούτε να ακούωσιν ούτε να περιπατώσι,
21 Neither repented they of their murders, or of their sorceries, or of their lewdnesses, or of their thefts.
και δεν μετενόησαν εκ των φόνων αυτών ούτε εκ των φαρμακειών αυτών ούτε εκ της πορνείας αυτών ούτε εκ των κλοπών αυτών.
