Psalms 99

1 Yahweh, hath become king, Let the peoples, tremble, He is enthroned on the cherubim, Let the earth, shake.

L’Éternel règne: que les peuples tremblent! Il est assis entre les chérubins: que la terre s’émeuve!

2 Yahweh, in Zion, is great, And, high, is he over all the peoples.

L’Éternel est grand en Sion, et il est haut élevé par-dessus tous les peuples.

3 Let them thank his Name—great and reverend, Holy, is he!

Ils célébreront ton nom grand et terrible: – il est saint! –

4 Yea, with the strength of a king—justice, he loveth, —Thou, hast established equity, Justice and righteousness in Jacob, thou, hast wrought.

Et la force du roi qui aime la justice. Toi, tu établis la droiture, tu exerces le jugement et la justice en Jacob.

5 Exalt Yahweh our God, And bow down at his footstool, Holy, is he!

Exaltez l’Éternel, notre Dieu, et prosternez-vous devant le marchepied de ses pieds: – il est saint!

6 Moses and Aaron, [were] among his priests, And, Samuel, [was] among them who were calling upon his Name, Who were calling upon Yahweh, and, he, used to answer them:

Moïse et Aaron, parmi ses sacrificateurs, et Samuel, parmi ceux qui invoquent son nom, crièrent à l’Éternel, et il leur a répondu.

7 In the pillar of cloud, used he to speak unto them, They kept his testimonies, and the statute he gave them.

Il leur parla dans la colonne de nuée: ils ont gardé ses témoignages, et le statut qu’il leur avait donné.

8 O Yahweh our God! thou, answeredst them, —A pardoning GOD, thou becamest to them, Yet one bringing vengeance on their deeds.

Éternel, notre Dieu! tu leur as répondu, tu as été pour eux un Dieu qui pardonnait, et prenait vengeance de leurs actes.

9 Exalt Yahweh our God, And bow down towards his holy mountain, For, holy, is Yahweh our God.

Exaltez l’Éternel, notre Dieu, et prosternez-vous en la montagne de sa sainteté; car l’Éternel, notre Dieu, est saint!
