Psalms 79
1 A Melody of Asaph. O God, nations, Have entered thine inheritance, Have profaned thy holy temple, —Have laid Jerusalem in heaps:
ആസാഫിന്റെ ഒരു സങ്കീർത്തനം. ദൈവമേ, ഇതര ജനതകൾ അവിടത്തെ ഓഹരി പിടിച്ചടക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവർ അങ്ങയുടെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു ജെറുശലേമിനെ അവർ ഒരു കൽക്കൂമ്പാരമായി മാറ്റിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
2 They have given, The dead bodies of thy servants, As food for the birds of the heavens, The flesh of thy men of lovingkindness, Unto the wild beast of the earth:
അങ്ങയുടെ സേവകരുടെ ശവശരീരങ്ങൾ ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികൾക്ക് ഇരയായി നൽകിയിരിക്കുന്നു, അവിടത്തെ വിശുദ്ധജനത്തിന്റെ മാംസം ഭൂമിയിലെ വന്യമൃഗങ്ങൾക്കും.
3 They have poured out their blood like water, Round about Jerusalem, With none to bury.
ജെറുശലേമിനുചുറ്റും അവർ വെള്ളംപോലെ രക്തപ്പുഴ ഒഴുക്കി, മരിച്ചവരെ സംസ്കരിക്കാൻ ആരും അവശേഷിക്കുന്നില്ല.
4 We have become, A reproach to our neighbours, —A mockery and a derision, to them who are round about us.
ഞങ്ങളുടെ അയൽവാസികൾക്ക് ഞങ്ങൾ അധിക്ഷേപത്തിന്റെ ഇരയായി, ചുറ്റുപാടുമുള്ളവർക്ക് ഞങ്ങൾ അവജ്ഞയും അപഹാസവും ആയിരിക്കുന്നു.
5 How long, O Yahweh, wilt thou be angry utterly? Shall thy jealousy, burn like fire?
ഇനിയും എത്രനാൾ, യഹോവേ? അങ്ങ് എന്നേക്കും ക്രോധാകുലനായിരിക്കുമോ? അങ്ങയുടെ അസഹിഷ്ണുത അഗ്നിപോലെ ഞങ്ങൾക്കെതിരായി എത്രകാലം ജ്വലിക്കും?
6 Pour out thy wrath, Upon the nations that have not known thee—and, Upon the kingdoms that, on thy Name, have not called.
അവിടത്തെ അംഗീകരിക്കാത്ത ജനതകളുടെമേലും അവിടത്തെ നാമം വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കാത്ത രാജ്യങ്ങളുടെമേലും അവിടത്തെ ക്രോധം ചൊരിയണമേ;
7 For he hath devoured Jacob, —And, his dwelling-place, have they laid waste.
കാരണം അവർ യാക്കോബിനെ വിഴുങ്ങുകയും അവന്റെ സ്വദേശത്തെ നശിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
8 Do not remember against us former iniquities, —Haste thee, let thy compassions, come to meet us, For we have been brought very low!
ഞങ്ങളുടെ പൂർവികരുടെ പാപം ഞങ്ങൾക്കെതിരേ കണക്കാക്കരുതേ; അവിടത്തെ കരുണ അതിവേഗം ഞങ്ങളെ സന്ദർശിക്കണമേ, ഞങ്ങൾ അതിതീക്ഷ്ണമായ ആവശ്യത്തിൽ ആയിരിക്കുന്നു.
9 Help us, O God of our salvation, on account of the glory of thy Name, —Rescue us then, and put a propitiatory-covering over our sins, For the sake of thy Name.
ഞങ്ങളുടെ രക്ഷയായ ദൈവമേ, അവിടത്തെ നാമമഹത്ത്വത്തിനായി ഞങ്ങളെ സഹായിക്കണമേ; അവിടത്തെ നാമംനിമിത്തം ഞങ്ങളെ വിടുവിക്കുകയും ഞങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങൾ ക്ഷമിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യണമേ.
10 Wherefore should the nations say—Where is their God? Let him be known among the nations before our eyes! [Yea! By] the avenging of the blood of thy servants which hath been shed!
രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ട് “അവരുടെ ദൈവം എവിടെ,” എന്നു ചോദിപ്പിക്കുന്നതെന്തിന്? അവിടത്തെ സേവകരുടെ രക്തംചൊരിഞ്ഞതിനുള്ള പ്രതികാരം ഞങ്ങളുടെ കണ്ണുകൾക്കു മുമ്പിൽവെച്ചുതന്നെ രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ അവിടന്ന് നടപ്പിലാക്കണമേ.
11 Let the groaning of the prisoner, come in before thee, —According to the greatness of thine arm, Set free them who are appointed to death.
ബന്ധിതരുടെ ഞരക്കം തിരുമുമ്പിൽ വരുമാറാകട്ടെ; മരണശിക്ഷയ്ക്കു വിധിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരെ അവിടത്തെ കൈകളുടെ ശക്തിയാൽ സ്വതന്ത്രരാക്കണമേ.
12 Return, therefore, unto our neighbours—Sevenfold, into their own bosom, The reproach wherewith they have reproached thee, O Adonay!
കർത്താവേ, ഞങ്ങളുടെ അയൽവാസികൾ അങ്ങേക്കെതിരായി നടത്തിയ അധിക്ഷേപങ്ങൾക്കുള്ള ശിക്ഷ ഏഴിരട്ടിയായി അവരുടെ മാർവിടത്തിലേക്കുതന്നെ നൽകണമേ.
13 So, we, thy people, and the sheep of thy pasture, will give thanks unto thee, to times age-abiding, —To generation after generation, will we recount thy praise.
അപ്പോൾ അവിടത്തെ ജനമായ ഞങ്ങൾ—അങ്ങയുടെ മേച്ചിൽപ്പുറത്തെ ആട്ടിൻപറ്റം— അങ്ങയെ നിത്യം സ്തുതിക്കും; ഞങ്ങൾ അവിടത്തെ സ്തുതി തലമുറതലമുറകളോളം പ്രസ്താവിക്കും.
