Psalms 54

1 To the Chief Musician: with Stringed Instruments. A Psalm of Instruction, of David. When the Ziphites came and said unto Saul, Is not, David, hiding himself, with us? O God! by thine own Name, save me, And, by thine own strength, wilt thou vindicate me?

സംഗീതസംവിധായകന്. തന്ത്രിനാദത്തോടെ. ദാവീദിന്റെ ഒരു ധ്യാനസങ്കീർത്തനം. സീഫ്യർ ചെന്നു ശൗലിനോട്: “ദാവീദ് ഞങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ ഒളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ ചമച്ചതു. ദൈവമേ, അവിടത്തെ നാമംനിമിത്തം എന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കണമേ; അവിടത്തെ ശക്തിയാൽ എനിക്കു നീതി നടത്തിത്തരണമേ.

2 O God! Hear my prayer, Give ear to the sayings of my mouth;

ദൈവമേ, എന്റെ പ്രാർഥന കേൾക്കണമേ; എന്റെ അധരങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് പുറപ്പെടുന്ന വാക്കുകൾ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കണമേ.

3 For, aliens, have risen up against me, And, men of violence, have sought my life, They have not set God before them. (Selah)

അപരിചിതർ എന്നെ ആക്രമിക്കുന്നു; അനുകമ്പയില്ലാത്തവർ എന്നെ വധിക്കാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നു— അവർക്ക് ദൈവത്തെപ്പറ്റി ചിന്തയില്ല. (സേലാ)

4 Lo! God, is bringing me help, My Lord, is with the upholders of my life;

ദൈവം എന്റെ സഹായകനാകുന്നു, നിശ്ചയം; കർത്താവാണ് എന്റെ ജീവൻ നിലനിർത്തുന്നത്.

5 Let him turn back the mischief upon mine adversaries, In thy faithfulness, destroy them!

എന്നെ ദുഷിക്കുന്നവരുടെ ദുഷ്ടത അവരുടെമേൽത്തന്നെ വരട്ടെ; അങ്ങയുടെ വിശ്വസ്തതയാൽ അവരെ നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളയണമേ.

6 With a freewill-offering, will I sacrifice unto thee, I will praise thy Name, O Yahweh, for it is good;

ഞാൻ അങ്ങേക്കൊരു സ്വമേധായാഗം അർപ്പിക്കും; യഹോവേ, തിരുനാമത്തെ ഞാൻ വാഴ്ത്തും, അതു നല്ലതല്ലോ.

7 For, out of all distress, hath he rescued me, —And, upon my foes, hath, mine own eye, looked.

അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ എന്റെ എല്ലാ കഷ്ടതകളിൽനിന്നും വിടുവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു, ശത്രുക്കളുടെ പരാജയം എന്റെ കണ്ണുകൾക്കൊരു വിജയോത്സവമായിരിക്കും.
