Psalms 48
1 A Melodious Song. For the Sons of Korah. Great is Yahweh, and worthy to be mightily praised, In the city of our God, His holy mountain.
O cântare și psalm pentru fiii lui Core. Mare este DOMNUL și măreț pentru a fi lăudat în cetatea Dumnezeului nostru, în muntele sfințeniei sale.
2 Beautiful in elevation, the joy of all the land, Is Mount Zion, in the recesses of the north, —The city of a great king.
Frumoasă în înălțime, bucuria întregului pământ, este muntele Sion, pe părțile de nord, cetatea marelui Împărat.
3 God, in her palaces, is to be known as a high tower.
Dumnezeu este cunoscut în palatele ei ca un loc de scăpare.
4 For lo! Kings—Met as appointed, Passed by together;
Căci iată, împărații s-au adunat, au trecut împreună.
5 They themselves, saw, So, were they amazed, Dismayed—they hurried way!
Au văzut-o și astfel s-au minunat; s-au tulburat și au fugit departe.
6 Trembling, seized them, there, Pangs. like hers who is in travail.
Acolo i-a apucat frică și durere, ca a unei femei în travaliu.
7 With an east wind, wilt thou shatter the ships of Tarshish.
Tu frângi corăbiile din Tarsis cu un vânt din est.
8 Just as we have heard, So, have we seen, In the city of Yahweh of hosts, In the city of our God, God himself, will establish her, unto times age-abiding. (Selah)
După cum am auzit, astfel am văzut noi în cetatea DOMNULUI oștirilor, în cetatea Dumnezeului nostru, Dumnezeu o va întemeia pentru totdeauna. (Selah)
9 We have thought, O God, upon thy lovingkindness, In the midst of thy temple:
Ne-am gândit la bunătatea ta iubitoare, Dumnezeule, în mijlocul templului tău.
10 According to thy Name, O God, So, be thy praise, unto the ends of the earth, With righteousness, is, thy right hand, filled.
Conform numelui tău, Dumnezeule, astfel este lauda ta până la marginile pământului, mâna ta dreaptă este plină de dreptate.
11 Let Mount Zion rejoice, Let the daughters of Judah exult, Because of thy judgments.
Să se bucure muntele Sion, să se veselească fiicele lui Iuda datorită judecăților tale.
12 Go round Zion, and compass her about, Reckon up her towers;
Străbateți Sionul și mergeți de jur împrejurul lui, numărați turnurile lui.
13 Apply your mind to her rampart, Pass between her palaces, That ye may recount them to an after generation;
Luați bine aminte la fortificațiile lui, priviți cu atenție palatele lui, ca să povestiți generației următoare.
14 For, this God, is our God, to times age-abiding and beyond, He himself, will conduct us till death.
Căci acest Dumnezeu este Dumnezeul nostru pentru totdeauna și întotdeauna, el va fi călăuza noastră chiar până la moarte.
