< Psalms 48 >

1 A Melodious Song. For the Sons of Korah. Great is Yahweh, and worthy to be mightily praised, In the city of our God, His holy mountain.
A song a psalm of [the] sons of Korah. [is] great Yahweh and [is] to be praised exceedingly in [the] city of God our [the] mountain of holiness his.
2 Beautiful in elevation, the joy of all the land, Is Mount Zion, in the recesses of the north, —The city of a great king.
[it is] beautiful of Height [the] joy of all the earth [the] mountain of Zion [the] remotest parts of Zaphon [the] town of [the] king great.
3 God, in her palaces, is to be known as a high tower.
God [is] in fortresses its he has made himself known to a refuge.
4 For lo! Kings—Met as appointed, Passed by together;
For there! the kings they assembled they passed on together.
5 They themselves, saw, So, were they amazed, Dismayed—they hurried way!
They they saw thus they were astonished they were terrified they hurried away.
6 Trembling, seized them, there, Pangs. like hers who is in travail.
Trembling it seized them there anguish like [woman] giving birth.
7 With an east wind, wilt thou shatter the ships of Tarshish.
With a wind of [the] east you shatter ships of Tarshish.
8 Just as we have heard, So, have we seen, In the city of Yahweh of hosts, In the city of our God, God himself, will establish her, unto times age-abiding. (Selah)
Just as we have heard - so we have seen in [the] city of Yahweh of hosts in [the] city of God our God he will establish it until perpetuity (Selah)
9 We have thought, O God, upon thy lovingkindness, In the midst of thy temple:
We have reflected on O God covenant loyalty your in [the] midst of temple your.
10 According to thy Name, O God, So, be thy praise, unto the ends of the earth, With righteousness, is, thy right hand, filled.
Like name your O God so praise your [is] over [the] ends of [the] earth righteousness it is full right [hand] your.
11 Let Mount Zion rejoice, Let the daughters of Judah exult, Because of thy judgments.
It will rejoice - [the] mountain of Zion they will be glad [the] daughters of Judah on account of judgments your.
12 Go round Zion, and compass her about, Reckon up her towers;
Go around Zion and go round it count towers its.
13 Apply your mind to her rampart, Pass between her palaces, That ye may recount them to an after generation;
Set heart your - to rampart its walk through fortresses its so that you may recount [it] to a generation later.
14 For, this God, is our God, to times age-abiding and beyond, He himself, will conduct us till death.
For this - [is] God God our forever and ever he he will guide us on dying.
