Psalms 44
1 To the Chief Musician. For the Sons of Korah. An Instructive Psalm. O God! with our own ears, have we heard, Our fathers, have recounted to us, —The work thou didst work, In their day, In the days of aforetime:
സംഗീതസംവിധായകന്. കോരഹ് പുത്രന്മാരുടെ ഒരു ധ്യാനസങ്കീർത്തനം. ദൈവമേ, സ്വന്തം ചെവിയാൽ ഞങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; പൂർവകാലത്ത് അങ്ങ് അവർക്കുവേണ്ടി ചെയ്തവയെല്ലാം ഞങ്ങളുടെ പൂർവികർ ഞങ്ങളോടു വിവരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
2 Thou thyself, with thine own hand—Didst dispossess, nations, and didst plant them, Didst break peoples in pieces, and didst spread them out:
അവിടത്തെ കരംകൊണ്ട് അങ്ങ് രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങളെ തുരത്തിയോടിച്ചു ഞങ്ങളുടെ പൂർവികർക്കു ദേശം അവകാശമായി നൽകി; അവിടന്ന് ജനതകളെ ഞെരിച്ചമർത്തി ഞങ്ങളുടെ പൂർവികരെ തഴച്ചുവളരുമാറാക്കി.
3 For, not by their own sword, gat they possession of the land, Nor did, their own arm, win victory for them, —But thine own right hand, and thine own arm, and the light of thy face, Because thou hadst accepted them.
അവർ ദേശം കൈവശമാക്കിയത് അവരുടെ വാളിനാലോ ജയം നേടിയത് അവരുടെ ഭുജത്താലോ ആയിരുന്നില്ല; അവരോടുള്ള സ്നേഹംനിമിത്തം അവിടത്തെ വലതുകരവും ബലമേറിയ ഭുജവും തിരുമുഖപ്രകാശവും ആണല്ലോ അവ സാധ്യമാക്കിയത്.
4 Thou thyself, art my king, O God, Command thou the victories of Jacob.
അങ്ങ് എന്റെ രാജാവും ദൈവവും ആകുന്നു, അവിടന്ന് യാക്കോബിന് വിജയമരുളുന്നു.
5 By thee, will we thrust at, our adversaries, In thy Name, will we tread down our assailants;
അവിടത്തെ ശക്തിയാൽ ഞങ്ങൾ ശത്രുക്കളെ പിന്തിരിഞ്ഞോടുമാറാക്കുന്നു; അവിടത്തെ നാമത്താൽ ഞങ്ങളുടെ എതിരാളികളെ ചവിട്ടിമെതിക്കുന്നു.
6 For, not in my bow, will I trust, Nor shall, my sword, give me victory;
എന്റെ വില്ലിൽ ഞാൻ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നില്ല, എന്റെ വാൾ എന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കുകയുമില്ല;
7 For thou hast saved us from our adversaries, And, them who hated us, hast thou put to shame.
എന്നാൽ ശത്രുക്കളുടെമേൽ അങ്ങാണ് ഞങ്ങൾക്കു വിജയംനൽകുന്നത്, അങ്ങ് ഞങ്ങളുടെ എതിരാളികളെ ലജ്ജിതരാക്കുന്നു.
8 In God, have we boasted all the day, And, thy Name—unto times age-abiding, will we praise. (Selah)
ദിവസംമുഴുവനും ഞങ്ങൾ ദൈവത്തിൽ പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നു, അവിടത്തെ നാമം ഞങ്ങൾ നിത്യം വാഴ്ത്തുന്നു. (സേലാ)
9 But nay thou hast rejected, and confounded us, And wilt not go forth with our hosts;
എന്നാൽ ഇപ്പോൾ അവിടന്ന് ഞങ്ങളെ തിരസ്കരിച്ച് ലജ്ജിതരാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവിടന്ന് ഞങ്ങളുടെ സൈന്യവ്യൂഹത്തോടൊപ്പം പോർമുഖത്തേക്ക് വരുന്നതുമില്ലല്ലോ.
10 Thou sufferest us to turn back from the adversary, And, they who hate us, have plundered at will:
അങ്ങ് ഞങ്ങളെ ശത്രുക്കൾക്കുമുമ്പിൽ പിന്തിരിഞ്ഞോടാനിടയാക്കി, ഞങ്ങളുടെ എതിരാളികൾ ഞങ്ങളെ കൊള്ളയടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
11 Thou dost give us up like sheep to be devoured, And, amongst the nations, hast thou scattered us.
ആടുകളെ എന്നപോലെ ഞങ്ങളെ തിന്നൊടുക്കാൻ അവർക്ക് അങ്ങ് അനുമതി നൽകി ഞങ്ങളെ രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ ചിതറിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു.
12 Thou dost sell thy people for, no-value, And hast not made increase by their price.
അങ്ങ് അങ്ങയുടെ ജനത്തെ തുച്ഛവിലയ്ക്കു വിറ്റുകളഞ്ഞു, ആ വിനിമയത്തിൽ ഒരു നേട്ടവും കൈവന്നില്ല.
13 Thou dost make us, A reproach to our neighbours, A mockery and a derision to them who are round about us:
അങ്ങ് ഞങ്ങളെ അയൽവാസികൾക്ക് അപമാനവും ചുറ്റുമുള്ളവർക്കിടയിൽ നിന്ദയും അപഹാസവും ആക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
14 Thou dost make us, A by-word among the nations, —A shaking of the head among the peoples.
അങ്ങ് ഞങ്ങളെ രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ ഒരു പഴമൊഴിയും; ജനതകൾക്കിടയിൽ പരിഹാസവിഷയവും ആക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
15 All the day, is my confusion before me, And, the shame of my face, hath covered me:
എന്നെ നിന്ദിക്കുകയും പരിഹസിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവരുടെ കുത്തുവാക്കുകളും പ്രതികാരത്തോടെ എന്നെ കീഴടക്കാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുന്ന ശത്രുക്കളിൽനിന്നുമുള്ള അപമാനവും ദിവസം മുഴുവൻ എന്റെമുമ്പിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്റെ മുഖം ലജ്ജയാൽ മൂടിയുമിരിക്കുന്നു.
16 At the voice of him who reproacheth and revileth, At the face of the foe and avenger.
17 All this, hath come upon us, Yet had we not forgotten thee, Neither had we dealt falsely with thy covenant;
ഇതൊക്കെയും ഞങ്ങൾക്കുമേൽ വന്നുഭവിച്ചിട്ടും, ഞങ്ങൾ അങ്ങയെ മറന്നിട്ടില്ല; അവിടത്തെ ഉടമ്പടിയോട് അവിശ്വസ്തരായിട്ടുമില്ല.
18 Our heart had not drawn back, Nor had our goings swerved from thy path;
ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയം പിന്തിരിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ല; അവിടത്തെ പാതകളിൽനിന്ന് ഞങ്ങളുടെ കാലടികൾ വ്യതിചലിച്ചിട്ടുമില്ല.
19 That thou shouldst have crushed us down in the place of wild dogs, And covered us over with a deadly shadow.
എന്നാൽ അവിടന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ തകർക്കുകയും കുറുനരികൾക്കൊരു സങ്കേതമായി മാറ്റുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; അവിടന്ന് ഞങ്ങളെ ഘോരാന്ധകാരത്താൽ മൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
20 If we had forgotten the Name of our God, And had spread forth our hands unto the GOD of the foreigner,
ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ തിരുനാമം ഞങ്ങൾ മറക്കുകയോ, അന്യദേവന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ കൈമലർത്തുകയോ ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ,
21 Would not, God, have searched into this, Seeing that, he, knoweth the secrets of the heart?
ദൈവം അതു കണ്ടെത്താതിരിക്കുമോ? അവിടന്ന് ഹൃദയരഹസ്യങ്ങളെ അറിയുന്നവനാണല്ലോ.
22 Surely, for thy sake, have we been slain all the day, We have been accounted as sheep for slaughter.
എന്നിട്ടും അങ്ങേക്കുവേണ്ടി ദിവസംമുഴുവനും ഞങ്ങൾ മരണത്തെ മുഖാമുഖം കാണുന്നു; അറക്കപ്പെടാനുള്ള ആടുകളായി ഞങ്ങളെ പരിഗണിക്കുന്നു.
23 Awake thou! wherefore shouldst thou sleep, O Lord? Bestir thee! do not reject us altogether!
കർത്താവേ, ഉണരണമേ! അങ്ങ് നിദ്രയിലമരുന്നത് എന്തിന്? ഉണർന്നെഴുന്നേറ്റാലും! എന്നെന്നേക്കുമായി ഞങ്ങളെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കരുതേ.
24 Wherefore shouldst thou hide, thy face? Shouldst forget our humiliation and our oppression?
അങ്ങെന്തിനാണ് ഞങ്ങൾക്കു മുഖം മറയ്ക്കുന്നത്? ഞങ്ങളുടെ കഷ്ടവും പീഡയും മറക്കുന്നതും എന്തിന്?
25 For our soul, sinketh down to the dust, Our body, cleaveth to the earth.
ഞങ്ങൾ പൂഴിയോളം താഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങളുടെ വയറ് നിലത്തു പറ്റിക്കിടക്കുന്നു.
26 Arise to our help, And ransom us, because of thine own lovingkindness.
കർത്താവേ, എഴുന്നേറ്റാലും, ഞങ്ങളെ സഹായിച്ചാലും; അവിടത്തെ അചഞ്ചലസ്നേഹത്താൽ ഞങ്ങളെ മോചിപ്പിച്ചാലും.
