Psalms 18
1 To the chief Musician. Of the servant of Yahweh, of David, —who spake unto Yahweh the words of this song, —in the day when Yahweh had rescued him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul; and he said: — I will love thee, O Yahweh my strength!
Kwa mtsogoleri wa mayimbidwe. Salimo la Davide mtumiki wa Yehova. Iye anayimbira Yehova nyimbo iyi pamene Yehovayo anamupulumutsa mʼdzanja la adani ake onse ndiponso mʼdzanja la Sauli. Davide anati: Ine ndimakukondani Inu Yehova, mphamvu zanga.
2 Yahweh, was my mountain crag and my stronghold, and my deliverer: My GOD, was my rock, I sought refuge in him, My shield, and my horn of salvation, my high tower.
Yehova ndiye thanthwe langa, chitetezo changa ndi mpulumutsi wanga; Mulungu wanga ndi thanthwe langa mʼmene ndimathawiramo. Chishango changa ndi ndodo yachipulumutso changa, ndi linga langa.
3 As one worthy to be praised, called I on Yahweh, —And, from my foes, was I saved.
Ndimayitana Yehova amene ndi woyenera matamando, ndipo ndapulumutsidwa kwa adani anga.
4 The meshes of death encompassed me, The torrents of perdition, made me afraid;
Zingwe za imfa zinandizinga; mitsinje yothamanga yachiwonongeko inandiopsa kwambiri.
Anandimanga ndi zingwe za ku manda; misampha ya imfa inalimbana nane. (Sheol h7585)
6 In my distress, called I on Yahweh, And, unto my God, made outcry for help, He heard, out of his temple, my voice, And my outcry for help came before him—entered into his ears!
Mʼmasautso anga ndinapemphera kwa Yehova; ndinalirira kwa Mulungu wanga kuti andithandize. Ali mʼNyumba yake, anamva mawu anga; kulira kwanga kunafika pamaso pake ndi mʼmakutu mwake.
7 Then did the earth shake and quake, Even, the foundations of the mountains, were deeply moved, Yea they did shake, because he was angry.
Dziko lapansi linanjenjemera ndi kuchita chivomerezi, ndipo maziko a mapiri anagwedezeka; ananjenjemera chifukwa Iye anakwiya.
8 There went up smoke in his nostrils, and, a fire out of his mouth, devoured, Live coals, were kindled from it:
Mʼmphuno mwake munatuluka utsi; moto wonyeketsa unatuluka mʼkamwa mwake, makala amoto anali lawilawi mʼkamwa mwake.
9 Then he stretched out the heaven, and came down, —and, thick gloom, was under his feet;
Iye anangʼamba thambo natsika pansi; pansi pa mapazi ake panali mitambo yakuda.
10 Then he rode on a cherub, and flew, and darted on the wings of the wind;
Iye anakwera pa Kerubi ndi kuwuluka; nawuluka ndi mphepo mwaliwiro.
11 Made darkness his hiding-place, Round about him—his pavilion, Darkness of waters, clouds of vapours.
Iye anapanga mdima kukhala chofunda chake, chophimba chake chomuzungulira chinali mitambo yakuda ya mlengalenga.
12 Out of the brightness before him, his clouds rolled along, hail, and live coals of fire.
Mʼkuwala kumene kunali pamaso pake munkachokera matalala, makala amoto ndi ziphaliwali zongʼanima.
13 Then did Yahweh thunder in the heavens, and the Highest uttered his voice, —hail, and live coals of fire.
Yehova anabangula kumwamba ngati bingu, mawu a Wammwambamwamba anamveka ponseponse.
14 And he sent forth his arrows and scattered them, yea, lightnings, he shot out, and confused them.
Iye anaponya mivi yake nabalalitsa adani ake, ndi zingʼaningʼani zake anawagonjetsa.
15 Then appeared the channels of waters, were uncovered the foundations of the world, —At thy rebuke O Yahweh, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.
Zigwa za mʼnyanja zinaonekera poyera; maziko a dziko lapansi anakhala poyera, Yehova atabangula mwaukali, pamene mpweya wamphamvu unatuluka mʼmphuno mwanu.
16 He sent from on high, he took me, —he drew me out of many waters.
Ali kumwamba, Iye anatambalitsa dzanja lake ndipo anandigwira; anandivuwula mʼmadzi ozama.
17 He rescued me from my foe, in his might, and from them who hated me, because they were too strong for me:
Anandipulumutsa kwa mdani wanga wamphamvu, adani anga, amene anali amphamvu kuposa ine.
18 They confronted me, in the day of my necessity, Then became Yahweh my stay:
Adaniwo analimbana nane pamene ndinali pa mavuto, koma Yehova anali thandizo langa.
19 And brought me out, into a large place, he delivered me, because he delighted in me.
Iye anandipititsa kumalo otakasuka; anandipulumutsa chifukwa amakondwera nane.
20 Yahweh rewarded me according to my righteousness, According to the cleanness of my hands, he repaid me;
Yehova wandithandiza molingana ndi chilungamo changa; molingana ndi makhalidwe anga abwino, Iye wandipulumutsa.
21 For I had kept the ways of Yahweh, and not broken away from my God;
Pakuti ine ndinatsata njira za Yehova; ndilibe mlandu wochoka pamaso Mulungu wanga.
22 For, all his regulations, were before me, and, his statutes, did I not put from me:
Malamulo ake onse ali pamaso panga; sindinasiye malangizo ake.
23 So became I blameless with him, and kept myself from mine iniquity.
Ndakhala moyo wosalakwa pamaso pake ndipo ndakhala ndi kupewa tchimo.
24 Yahweh therefore repaid me according to my righteousness, according to the pureness of my hands, before his eyes.
Yehova wandipatsa mphotho molingana ndi chilungamo changa, molingana ndi kuyera kwa manja anga pamaso pake.
25 With the loving, thou didst show thyself loving, —With the blameless man, thou didst show thyself blameless;
Kwa wokhulupirika, Inu mumaonetsa kukhulupirika kwanu; kwa anthu amakhalidwe abwino, Inu mumaonetsanso makhalidwe abwino,
26 With the pure, thou didst show thyself pure, But, with the perverse, thou didst show thyself ready to contend.
kwa woyera mtima, Inu mumaonetsa kuyera mtima kwanu, koma kwa achinyengo mumaonetsanso kunyansidwa nawo.
27 For, as for thee, an oppressed people, thou didst save, but, looks that were lofty, layedst thou low;
Inu mumapulumutsa anthu odzichepetsa, koma anthu amtima odzikuza mumawatsitsa.
28 For, thou, didst light up my lamp, Yahweh my God, enlightened my darkness;
Inu Yehova, sungani nyale yanga kuti iziyakabe; Mulungu wanga wasandutsa mdima wanga kukhala kuwunika.
29 For, by thee, I ran through a troop, and, by my God, I leapt over a wall.
Ndi thandizo lanu nditha kulimbana ndi gulu la ankhondo; ndi Mulungu wanga nditha kuchita zosatheka ndi munthu.
30 As for GOD, blameless is his way, The speech of Yahweh hath been proved, A shield, he is to all who seek refuge in him.
Kunena za Mulungu, zochita zake ndi zangwiro; mawu a Yehova alibe cholakwika. Iye ndi chishango kwa onse amene amathawira kwa Iye.
31 For who is a GOD, save Yahweh? And who is a Rock, save our God?
Mulungu wina ndi uti wofanana nanu Yehova? Ndipo ndani amene ndi Thanthwe kupatula Mulungu wathu?
32 The GOD who girded me with strength, and set forth, as blameless, my way:
Ndi Mulungu amene anandipatsa mphamvu ndi kulungamitsa njira yanga.
33 Planting my feet like hinds’ [feet], yea, on my high places, he caused me to stand:
Iye amasandutsa mapazi anga kukhala ngati ambawala yayikazi; Iye amandithandiza kuyimirira pamwamba pa mapiri.
34 Teaching my hands to war, —so that a bow of bronze was bent by mine arms.
Iye amaphunzitsa manja anga kuchita nkhondo; manja anga amatha kuthyola uta wachitsulo.
35 Thus didst thou grant me, as a shield, thy salvation, —and, thy right hand, sustained me, and, thy condescension, made me great.
Inu mumandipatsa chishango chachipambano, ndipo dzanja lanu lamanja limandichirikiza; mumawerama pansi kundikuza.
36 Thou didst widen my stepping-places under me, so that, mine ankles, faltered not.
Munakulitsa njira yoyendamo ine, kuti mapazi anga asaguluke.
37 I pursued my foes, and overtook them, and returned not, till they were consumed:
Ndinathamangitsa adani anga ndi kuwapitirira; sindinabwerere mpaka atawonongedwa.
38 I crushed them, and they were unable to rise, They fell under my feet.
Ndinakantha adaniwo kotero kuti sanathenso kudzuka; anagwera pa mapazi anga.
39 Thus didst thou gird me with strength, for the battle, Thou subduedst mine assailants under me.
Inu munandiveka ndi mphamvu yokachitira nkhondo, munachititsa kuti ndigonjetse adani anga.
40 As for my foes, thou didst give me their neck, and, as for them who hated me, I destroyed them.
Inu munachititsa adani anga kutembenuka, kuonetsa misana yawo pothawa, ndipo ine ndinawononga adani angawo.
41 They cried out, but there was none to save, unto Yahweh, but he answered them not.
Iwo anafuwula kupempha thandizo, koma panalibe ndi mmodzi yemwe owapulumutsa. Analirira kwa Yehova koma sanawayankhe.
42 Then did I beat them in pieces, like dust on the face of the wind. Like the mire in the lanes, did I scatter them.
Ine ndinawaperesa ngati fumbi lowuluka ndi mphepo. Ndinawapondaponda ngati matope a mʼmisewu.
43 Thus didst thou rescue me from the contentions of a people, —didst appoint me to be the head of nations, A people I had not known, served me:
Inu mwandipulumutsa mʼmanja mwa anthu; mwandisandutsa kukhala mtsogoleri wa anthu a mitundu ina. Anthu amene sindikuwadziwa ali pansi pa ulamuliro wanga.
44 At the hearing of the ear, they submitted to me, the sons of the foreigner, came cringing unto me:
Alendo amadzipereka okha pamaso panga; akangomva za ine amandigonjera.
45 The sons of the foreigner, lost heart, and came quaking out of their fortresses.
Iwo onse anataya mtima; anatuluka mʼmalinga awo akunjenjemera.
46 Yahweh liveth and, blessed, be my Rock, yea, exalted, be the God of my salvation:
Yehova ndi wamoyo! Litamandidwe Thanthwe langa! Akuzike Mulungu Mpulumutsi wanga!
47 The GOD, who hath avenged me, —and subjugated peoples under me:
Iye ndi Mulungu amene amabwezera chilango, amene amagonjetsa anthu a mitundu yonse amene ali pansi pa ulamuliro wanga,
48 Who hath delivered me from my foes, —Yea, from mine assailants, hast thou set me on high, From the man of violence, hast thou rescued me.
amene amandipulumutsa mʼmanja mwa adani anga. Inu munandikuza kuposa adani anga; munandilanditsa mʼmanja mwa anthu ankhanza.
49 For this cause, will I praise thee among the nations, O Yahweh, and, to thy Name, will I sweep the strings: —
Choncho ine ndidzakutamandani pakati pa anthu a mitundu ina, Inu Yehova; ndidzayimba nyimbo zotamanda dzina lanu.
50 Who hath made great the victories of his King, —and shown lovingkindness to his Anointed One, To David and to his Seed, Unto times age-abiding.
Iye amapereka chipambano chachikulu kwa mfumu yake; amaonetsa chikondi chosasinthika kwa wodzozedwa wake, kwa Davide ndi zidzukulu zake kwamuyaya.
