Psalms 148
1 Praise ye Yah, Praise Yahweh, out of the heavens, Praise him, in the heights;
Lobet Jah! / Lobet Jah vom Himmel her, / Lobet ihn in der Höhe!
2 Praise him, all his messengers, Praise him, all his host;
Lobt ihn, all seine Engel, / Lobet ihn, all sein Heer!
3 Praise him, sun and moon, Praise him, all ye stars of light;
Lobt ihn, Sonne und Mond, / Lobet ihn, all ihr lichten Sterne!
4 Praise him, O ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that are above the heavens;
Lobt ihn, ihr höchsten Himmel, / Und ihr Wasser über dem Himmel!
5 Let them praise the Name of Yahweh, for, he, commanded, and they were created;
Loben sollen sie Jahwes Namen; / Denn er gebot, und sie wurden geschaffen.
6 So caused he them to stand perpetually—age-abidingly, A decree, hath he given, and it passeth not beyond.
Er stellte sie hin für immer und ewig; / Er gab ein Gesetz, das sie nicht übertreten.
7 Praise Yahweh, out of the earth, sea monsters, and all resounding deeps;
Lobt Jahwe von der Erde her, / Ihr Seeungeheuer und all ihr Meerestiefen,
8 Fire and hail, snow and vapour, stormy wind, fulfilling his word;
Ihr, Feuer und Hagel, Schnee und Rauch, / Du Sturmwind, der sein Wort vollstreckt.
9 Ye mountains, and all hills, fruit trees, and all cedars;
Ihr Berge und alle Hügel, / Ihr Fruchtbäume und alle Zedern.
10 Thou wild-beast, and all ye cattle, crawling creature, and bird of wing;
Ihr wilden und zahmen Tiere, / Ihr Gewürm und gefiederten Vögel,
11 Kings of earth, and all peoples, Rulers, and all judges of earth;
Ihr Erdenkönige und Völker alle, / Ihr Fürsten und alle Richter auf Erden,
12 Young men, yea even virgins, elders, and children.
Ihr Jünglinge und ihr Jungfraun auch, / Ihr Alten mit den Jungen!
13 Let them praise the Name of Yahweh, for lofty is his Name alone, His splendour is over earth and heavens.
Sie alle sollen Jahwes Namen loben; / Denn sein Name allein ist erhaben, / Seine Hoheit geht über Erde und Himmel.
14 Therefore hath he exalted a horn for his people, a praise for all his men of lovingkindness, for the sons of Israel—a people near him, Praise ye Yah!
Er hat seinem Volk wieder Macht verliehn: / Das ist ein Ruhm für all seine Frommen, / Für Israels Söhne — das Volk, das ihm am nächsten steht. / Lobt Jah!
