Psalms 116
1 I love Yahweh—because he heareth my voice, my supplications;
| אָ֭הַבְתִּי כִּֽי־יִשְׁמַ֥ע ׀ יְהוָ֑ה אֶת־ק֝וֹלִ֗י תַּחֲנוּנָֽי׃ |
2 Because he hath bowed down his ear unto me, therefore, throughout my days, will I call.
| כִּֽי־הִטָּ֣ה אָזְנ֣וֹ לִ֑י וּבְיָמַ֥י אֶקְרָֽא׃ |
3 The meshes of death encompassed me, and the distresses of hades, came upon me, Peril and sorrow, I found; (Sheol h7585)
| אֲפָפ֤וּנִי ׀ חֶבְלֵי־מָ֗וֶת וּמְצָרֵ֣י שְׁא֣וֹל מְצָא֑וּנִי צָרָ֖ה וְיָג֣וֹן אֶמְצָֽא׃ (Sheol h7585) |
4 But, on the Name of Yahweh, I called—I beseech thee, Yahweh, deliver my soul.
| וּבְשֵֽׁם־יְהוָ֥ה אֶקְרָ֑א אָנָּ֥ה יְ֝הוָ֗ה מַלְּטָ֥ה נַפְשִֽׁי׃ |
5 Gracious is Yahweh and righteous, and, our God, is full of compassion.
| חַנּ֣וּן יְהֹוָ֣ה וְצַדִּ֑יק וֵ֖אלֹהֵ֣ינוּ מְרַחֵֽם׃ |
6 Yahweh, preserveth the simple, I was brought low, when, to me, he granted salvation.
| שֹׁמֵ֣ר פְּתָאיִ֣ם יְהֹוָ֑ה דַּ֝לּוֹתִ֗י וְלִ֣י יְהוֹשִֽׁיעַ׃ |
7 Return, O my soul, to thy rest, For, Yahweh, hath dealt bountifully with thee.
| שׁוּבִ֣י נַ֭פְשִׁי לִמְנוּחָ֑יְכִי כִּֽי־יְ֝הוָ֗ה גָּמַ֥ל עָלָֽיְכִי׃ |
8 For thou hast rescued my soul from death, —mine eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling.
| כִּ֤י חִלַּ֥צְתָּ נַפְשִׁ֗י מִ֫מָּ֥וֶת אֶת־עֵינִ֥י מִן־דִּמְעָ֑ה אֶת־רַגְלִ֥י מִדֶּֽחִי׃ |
9 I will walk to and fro before Yahweh, in the lands of life.
| אֶ֭תְהַלֵּךְ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה בְּ֝אַרְצ֗וֹת הַֽחַיִּֽים׃ |
10 I believed that I should speak, I, was greatly depressed.
| הֶ֭אֱמַנְתִּי כִּ֣י אֲדַבֵּ֑ר אֲ֝נִ֗י עָנִ֥יתִי מְאֹֽד׃ |
11 I, said in mine alarm, All men, are false!
| אֲ֭נִי אָמַ֣רְתִּי בְחָפְזִ֑י כָּֽל־הָאָדָ֥ם כֹּזֵֽב׃ |
12 How shall I give back to Yahweh, All his benefits unto me?
| מָֽה־אָשִׁ֥יב לַיהוָ֑ה כָּֽל־תַּגְמוּל֥וֹהִי עָלָֽי׃ |
13 The cup of salvation, will I lift, and, on the Name of Yahweh, will I call:
| כּוֹס־יְשׁוּע֥וֹת אֶשָּׂ֑א וּבְשֵׁ֖ם יְהוָ֣ה אֶקְרָֽא׃ |
14 My vows—to Yahweh, will I pay, Might it be in presence of all his people!
| נְ֭דָרַי לַיהוָ֣ה אֲשַׁלֵּ֑ם נֶגְדָה־נָּ֝֗א לְכָל־עַמּֽוֹ׃ |
15 Costly in the eyes of Yahweh, is, death, for his men of lovingkindness.
| יָ֭קָר בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה הַ֝מָּ֗וְתָה לַחֲסִידָֽיו׃ |
16 I beseech thee, O Yahweh—for, I, am thy servant, —I, am thy servant, the son of thy handmaid, Thou hast loosened my bonds.
| אָֽנָּ֣ה יְהוָה֮ כִּֽי־אֲנִ֪י עַ֫בְדֶּ֥ךָ אֲֽנִי־עַ֭בְדְּךָ בֶּן־אֲמָתֶ֑ךָ פִּ֝תַּ֗חְתָּ לְמוֹסֵרָֽי׃ |
17 To thee, will I sacrifice a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and, on the Name of Yahweh, will I call:
| לְֽךָ־אֶ֭זְבַּח זֶ֣בַח תּוֹדָ֑ה וּבְשֵׁ֖ם יְהוָ֣ה אֶקְרָֽא׃ |
18 My vows—to Yahweh, will I pay, Might it be in the presence of all his people; —
| נְ֭דָרַי לַיהוָ֣ה אֲשַׁלֵּ֑ם נֶגְדָה־נָּ֝֗א לְכָל־עַמּֽוֹ׃ |
19 In the courts of the house of Yahweh, In the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye Yah!
| בְּחַצְר֤וֹת ׀ בֵּ֤ית יְהוָ֗ה בְּֽת֘וֹכֵ֤כִי יְֽרוּשָׁלִָ֗ם הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּ׃ |
