Psalms 112
1 Praise ye Yah! How happy is the man who revereth Yahweh, In his commandments, delighteth he greatly;
Louez l'Éternel! Heureux l'homme qui craint l'Éternel, Qui trouve tout son plaisir dans ses commandements!
2 Mighty in the earth, shall be his seed, The generation of the upright, shall be blessed;
Sa postérité sera puissante sur la terre; La race des hommes droits sera bénie.
3 Wealth and riches, shall be in his house, and, his righteousness, standeth for aye.
L'abondance et la richesse sont dans la maison du juste, Et sa justice demeure éternellement.
4 Risen—in darkness, is light to the upright, The gracious and compassionate and righteous.
La lumière se lève, même au sein des ténèbres, Pour l'homme droit, Pour celui qui est compatissant, miséricordieux et juste.
5 Well for a man showing favour and lending! He shall sustain his affairs with justice.
Heureux l'homme compatissant. Celui qui prête aux malheureux: Il gagnera sa cause en justice;
6 Surely, unto times age-abiding, shall he not be shaken, In remembrance, age-abiding, shall the righteous one remain;
Car il ne sera jamais ébranlé. La mémoire du juste vivra éternellement.
7 Of evil tidings, shall he not be afraid, Established is his heart, led to trust in Yahweh;
Il n'a pas à craindre les bruits malveillants; Son coeur est ferme, plein de confiance en l'Éternel.
8 Upheld is his heart, he shall not be afraid, until that he gazeth on his foes.
Son coeur est inébranlable, inaccessible à la crainte: Il verra un jour la confusion de ses ennemis.
9 He hath scattered abroad, he hath given to the needy, His righteousness, standeth for aye, His horn, shall be exalted in honour.
Il a distribué, il a donné ses biens aux pauvres; Sa justice demeure éternellement: Honoré de tous, il peut lever la tête.
10 The lawless one, shall see, and be indignant, his teeth, will he gnash and melt away, The craving of the lawless, shall vanish.
Le méchant voit avec envie le bonheur du juste; Il grince des dents et se consume: Ainsi sont frappés d'impuissance les souhaits des méchants.
