< Proverbs 8 >
1 Doth not, wisdom, cry aloud? and, understanding, send forth her voice?
Lungangnae ni a kaw teh, thaipanueknae ni a lawk a cai sak nahoehmaw.
2 At the top of the high places above the way, at the place where paths meet, she taketh her stand:
Monsom vah tahungnae a sak teh, lam teng hoi lamtalawi koe ouk a kangdue.
3 Beside the gates, at the entrance of the city, —at the going in of the openings, she shouteth: —
Khopui kâennae longkha koehoi, kâennae thonaw koevah, kacaipounglah a oung.
4 Unto you, O men, I call, and, my voice, is unto the sons of men;
Oe, taminaw, nangmouh hah na kaw awh. Ka lawk hah taminaw hane doeh.
5 Understand, ye simple ones, shrewdness, and, ye dullards understand sense;
Oe kamawngrame, lungangnae hah thaipanuek awh. Nangmouh tamipathunaw thaipanueknae lungthin tawn awh haw.
6 Hear, for, princely things, will I speak, and the opening of my lips shall be of equity;
Thai awh haw, kahawi poung e hah ka dei vaiteh, ka pahni dawk hoi ka tâcawt e teh, kalan e han doeh.
7 For, faithfulness, shall my mouth softly utter, but, the abomination of my lips, shall be lawlessness;
Bangkongtetpawiteh, ka pahni ni lawkkatang a dei han, thoenae teh ka pahni hanelah panuet a tho.
8 In righteousness, shall be all the sayings of my mouth, nothing therein, shall be crafty or perverse;
Ka pahni hoi ka dei e lawk pueng teh, lannae doeh. Kâcawngmet e hoi ka longkawi e awm hoeh.
9 All of them, shall be plain, to them who would understand, and just, to such as would gain knowledge.
Kathaipanueknaw hanelah a kamceng teh, panuenae katawnnaw hanelah a lan.
10 Receive my correction, and not silver, and knowledge, rather than choicest gold.
Tangka hlak kaie cangkhainae hah dâw awh. Sui kahawi hlak panuenae heh kârawi awh.
11 For better is wisdom, than ornaments of coral, and, no delightful things, can equal her.
Bangkongtetpawiteh, lungangnae teh Rubies talung hlak ahawihnawn. Ngai kawi e hno pueng hoi hote hno hah bangnue thai mahoeh.
12 I, wisdom, inhabit shrewdness, —and, the knowledge of sagacious things, I gain.
Kai, lungangnae teh lungang laihoi ka o. Panuinae hoi poukthainae hai ka tawn.
13 The reverence of Yahweh, is to hate wickedness: pride, arrogance, and the way of wickedness; And a mouth of perverse things, do I hate.
BAWIPA taki e teh yon hmuhma e doeh. Kâoupnae hoi kaisuenae, yonnae lamthung hoi lawk kalan deihoehnae pahninaw heh ka hmuhma.
14 Mine, are counsel, and effective working, I, am understanding, mine, is valour:
Kâpankhainae hoi lungangnae katang hateh, kaie naw doeh. Thaipanueknae lah ka o teh thaonae ka tawn.
15 By me, kings reign, and dignitaries decree righteousness;
Kai pawlawk hoi siangpahrangnaw ni a uk awh teh, ukkungnaw ni kalan lah laidei ouk a tâtueng awh.
16 By me, rulers govern, and nobles—all the righteous judges:
Kai pawlawk hoi ukkungnaw hoi tami kalennaw hoi bari kaawmnaw hoi talai van e lawkcengkung pueng ni uknae kâ a tawn awh.
17 I love, them who love me, and, they who diligently seek me, find me:
Kai lungpataw e teh, kai ni ka lungpataw van, atangcalah na katawngnaw ni na hmu awh han.
18 Riches and honour, are with me, lordly wealth, and righteousness;
Tawntanae hoi barinae teh kai koe kaawm e naw doeh. Kangning e tawntanae hoi lannae doeh.
19 Better is my fruit, than gold—yea fine gold, and mine increase, than choice silver;
Kaie a paw teh sui hlak hai ahawihnawn. Bokheiyah, sui kathoung hlak hai ahawihnawn. Hahoi ka hmu e hnopai teh, kahawi e ngun hlak hai ahawihnawn.
20 In the way of righteousness, I march along, in the middle of the paths of justice:
Lannae hoi kângingnae lamthung lungui vah ka cei.
21 That I may cause them who love me to inherit substance, and, their treasuries, I may fill.
Hottelah, kai lungpataw naw koe hnopai tabu dawk, hno akawi nahanlah hnopai ka coe sak han.
22 Yahweh, had constituted me the beginning of his way, before his works, at the commencement of that time;
BAWIPA ni a kamtawng lahun nahoi, ayan e thaw a tawk hoehnahlan vah, yo na tawn toe.
23 At the outset of the ages, had I been established, in advance of the antiquities of the earth;
Talai ao hoehnahlan hoi a kamtawng hoehnahlan vah, a yungyoe caksak lah ka o toe.
24 When there was no resounding deep, I had been brought forth, when there were no fountains, abounding with water;
Kadungpoung e talî ao hoehnahlan hoi, tuinaw pueng a tâco hoehnahlan vah, yo ka tâco toe.
25 Ere yet the mountains had been settled, before the hills, had I been brought forth;
Talai hoi vaiphu ao hoehnahlan, talai hoi ramnaw a sak hoehnahlan,
26 Or ever he had made the land and the wastes, or the top of the dry parts of the world:
Montamnaw ao hoehnahlan vah, yo ka tâco toe.
27 When he prepared the heavens, there, was I! When he decreed a vault upon the face of the resounding deep;
Kalvannaw a rakueng lahun navah, yo ka o toe. Kadungpoung e talî dawk e kâheinae a sak navah,
28 When he made firm the skies above, when the fountains of the resounding deep, waxed strong;
Kalvan e tâmai a yam sak navah, kadungpoung e talî, ka lawng e palang, tha a poe navah,
29 When he fixed for the sea its bound, that, the waters, should not go beyond his bidding, when he decreed the foundations of the earth: —
Tui ni a kâpoelawk a ek hoeh nahanlah, talîpui hanelah a langri a khuen pouh navah, talai du a ung navah,
30 Then became I beside him, a firm and sure worker, then became I filled with delight, day by day, exulting before him on every occasion;
Kai teh kawk e capa patetlah ama koe ka o teh, pout laipalah ama lung kahawi sakkung lah ka o. A hmalah ka konawm.
31 Exulting in the fruitful land of his earth, Yea, my fulness of delight, was with the sons of men.
O nahanelah a sak e talai ni, ka konawm sak, taminaw ni ka ko hoe a nawm sak.
32 Now, therefore, ye sons, hearken to me, for how happy are they who, to my ways, pay regard!
Hatdawkvah, ka canaw, atu ka lawk thai awh haw. Bangkongtetpawiteh, ka lamthung kadawnnaw teh tami yaw kahawi e lah ao awh.
33 Hear ye correction, and be wise, and do not neglect.
Cangkhainae heh thai awh nateh, lungang awh haw, banglah noutna laipalah awm hanh awh.
34 How happy the man that doth hearken to me, —keeping guard at my doors, day by day, watching at the posts of my gates;
Hnin tangkuem kaie longkha koehoi na ring teh, takhang koehoi na ngaihawi. Ka lawk ka ngâi e teh, tami yaw kahawi e doeh.
35 For, he that findeth me, findeth life, and hath obtained favour from Yahweh;
Bangkongtetpawiteh, kai na kahmawt e pueng teh hringnae ka hmawt e lah ao. BAWIPA ni ngaikhainae hai ouk a hmu awh.
36 But, he that misseth me, wrongeth his own soul, all who hate me, love death.
Hatei, kai dawk yonnae kasaknaw ni amae hringnae a raphoe teh, na ka maithoe e pueng teh duenae ka lungpataw naw doeh.
