< Proverbs 7 >
1 My son, keep my sayings, and, my commandments, treasure by thee;
Na-agbaso okwu m nwa m, nọgide na ya, dokwaa iwu m niile nʼime obi gị.
2 Keep my commandments and live, and mine instruction, as the pupil of thine eye;
Debe iwu m ka ị dị ndụ, chee ozizi m nche dịka ọ bụ mkpụrụ anya gị.
3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them, on the tablet of thy heart;
Kee ha na mkpịsịaka gị, deekwa ha nʼelu mbadamba nkume, bụ obi gị.
4 Say unto wisdom, My sister, thou! and, an acquaintance, call thou, understanding:
Hụ amamihe nʼanya dịka nwaagbọghọ ị hụrụ nʼanya; hụkwa inwe nghọta nʼanya dịka a ga-asị na ọ bụ nwanne gị.
5 That thou mayest be kept, from the woman that is a stranger, from the female unknown, who, with her speeches, doth flatter.
Kwee ka ha debe gị, ka ị ghara ijekwuru nwanyị na-akwa iko, ka ị gharakwa ịṅa ntị nʼokwu ire ụtọ ya.
6 For, in the window of my house, through my lattice, I looked out;
Nʼihi na otu ụbọchị, esi m na oghereikuku dị nʼụlọ m lepụ anya,
7 And saw among the simple ones, discerned among the youths, A young man lacking sense;
hụ nʼetiti ndị na-enweghị uche, ahụtara m otu nwokorobịa nʼetiti ha, onye amamihe kọrọ,
8 Passing through the street, near her corner, and, on the way to her house, he sauntered along;
ka ọ na-aga nʼụzọ dị nso ebe nkuku ụlọ nʼakụkụ ụlọ nwanyị ihere na-adịghị eme,
9 In the twilight, in the evening of the day, in the midst of the night, and the gloom;
nʼoge anyasị, dịka chi na-eji, mgbe ọchịchịrị na-agbachi.
10 And lo! a woman, came to meet him, attired as one unchaste, of a wily heart.
Mgbe ahụ, nwanyị ahụ pụtara zute ya. O yi uwe dịka nwanyị akwụna, jiri aghụghọ na-abịakwute ya.
11 Boisterous, is she, and rebellious, In her house, abide not her feet;
(Ọ na-eme ụzụ na-aṅaghị ntị ịnụ ihe ọbụla. Ụkwụ ya anaghị anọgide nʼụlọ ya.
12 Now outside, now in the broadways, and, near every corner, she lieth in wait:
Ọ na-akwụgharị ma nʼokporoụzọ ma nʼama; na-amịgharị nʼebe nzuzo niile.)
13 So she caught him, and kissed him, and, embolding her face, she said to him:
O weere aka ya abụọ jikụọ nwokorobịa ahụ nʼolu, sutu ya ọnụ, were ihu nke ihere na-adịghị, sị:
14 Peace-offerings, are by me, to-day, have I paid my vows;
“Emezuru m nkwa niile m kwere taa, enwekwara m nri nke sitere nʼihe aja udo m chụrụ nʼụlọ m,
15 For this cause, came I forth to meet thee, to seek diligently thy face, and I have found thee:
Ọ bụ gị ka m na-achọkwute, lee gị ka ị na-abịa.
16 Coverlets, have I spread on my couch of pleasure, dark-hued stuffs, of the yarn of Egypt;
Agbasaala m akwa mara mma nʼelu ihe ndina m, bụ akwa ọcha mara mma tụrụ ọtụtụ agwa nke e ji ogho ndị Ijipt kpaa.
17 I have sprinkled my bed, with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon:
Efesakwala m mmanụ isi ọma nke máá, aloos na sinamọn nʼelu nʼihe ndina m.
18 Come! let us take our fill of endearments, until morning, let us delight ourselves with caresses;
Bịa, ka anyị were ịhụnanya ṅụjụbiga afọ anyị; ka anyị mee onwe anyị obi ụtọ site ugbu a ruo ụtụtụ echi.
19 For the husband is not in his house, he hath gone on a journey afar;
Nʼihi na di m anọghị nʼụlọ o jeela njem dị anya.
20 A bag of silver, hath he taken in his hand, On the day of the full moon, will he enter his house.
O ji akpa ego juru gaa njem, abalị ole na ole ga-agafekwa tupu ọ lọta.”
21 She turneth him aside, with her great persuasiveness, —with the flattery of her lips, she compelleth him:
Otu a ka o si jiri okwu ire ụtọ ya megharịa nwokorobịa ahụ isi tutu o kwenyere ya. O nwekwaghị ike ịnapụta onwe ya site nʼokwu nrafu nke nwanyị ahụ.
22 Going after her instantly, as an ox, to the slaughter, he entereth, and, as in fetters, unto the correction of a fool.
O sooro nwanyị ahụ dịka ehi a na-adọkpụ na-aga ebe a ga-egbu ya, dịka ele nke na-aba nʼọnya,
23 Until an arrow cleaveth his liver, as a bird hasteth into a snare, and knoweth not, that, for his life, it is!
nke na-eche ka e were àkụ gbata ya nʼobi. Nwoke ahụ dịka nnụnụ nke na-efeba nʼọnya na-amaghị ihe na-eche ya pụrụ iwepụ ndu ya.
24 Now, therefore, ye sons, hearken unto me, and attend, to the sayings of my mouth;
Geenụ ntị, ụmụ m, ma ọ bụghị naanị ige ntị, kama meekwanụ ihe m na-ekwu.
25 Let not thy heart, turn aside to her ways, Do not go astray, in her paths.
Ekwela ka agụụ nke obi gị chịa gị; ejela nwanyị dị otu a nso; gbaara ya ọsọ, ka ọ ghara ịnwa gị nwetakwa gị.
26 For, many, wounded, hath she caused to fall, —yea strong men, slain wholly by her:
Nʼihi na o mebiela ndụ ọtụtụ mmadụ, ọtụtụ mmadụ amaala nʼọnya ya.
27 Ways to hades, are in her house, descending into the chambers of death. (Sheol )
Ụlọ ya bụ okporoụzọ nke na-eduba nʼili, nke na-edubakwa nʼala ọnwụ. (Sheol )
