< Proverbs 4 >
1 Hear, ye sons, the correction of a father, and attend, that ye may know understanding.
Annakko, denggenyo ti annuroten ti maysa nga ama, ken ipangagyo tapno maammoanyo ti kayat a sawen ti pannakaawat.
2 For, good teaching, have I given you, mine instruction, do not ye forsake.
Ik-ikkankayo iti nasasayaat a sursuro; saanyo a laksiden ti pannursurok.
3 For, a son, became I to my father, tender and most precious in the sight of my mother.
Idi maysaak nga ubing ti amak, ti nalupoy ken kakaisuna nga anak ti inak,
4 So he taught me, and said to me—Let thy heart, lay hold of my words, Keep my commandments and live!
sinurwannak ket kinunana kaniak, “Ipapusom koma dagiti sasaok: tungpalem dagiti bilinko ket agbiagka.
5 Acquire wisdom, acquire understanding, Do not forget, neither decline thou from the sayings of my mouth.
Gun-odem ti kinasirib ken pannakaawat; saanmo a lipaten ken saanmo a laksiden dagiti sasaok;
6 Do not forsake her, and she will guard thee, —love her and she will keep thee.
saanmo a panpanawan ti kinasirib ket bantayannakanto; ayatem isuna ket saluadannakanto.
7 The principal thing, is wisdom, acquire thou wisdom, With all thine acquisition, acquire thou understanding.
Ti kinasirib ti kapapatgan a banag, isu a gun-odem ti kinasirib ket busbusem dagiti amin a kukuam tapno maalam ti pannakaawat.
8 Exalt her, and she will set thee on high, she will bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her:
Ipategmo ti kinasirib ket itag-aynaka; padayawannaka inton arakupem isuna.
9 She will give for thy head, a wreath of beauty, A crown of adorning, will she bestow upon thee.
Mangikabil isuna iti balangat ti pammadayaw dita ulom; ikkannaka iti napintas a korona.”
10 Hear, my son, and receive my sayings, and they will multiply to thee the years of life.
Dumngegka anakko, ken ipangagmo dagiti sasaok, ket maaddaankanto iti adu a tawen iti panagbiagmo.
11 In the way of wisdom, have I taught thee, I have guided thee in tracks of uprightness.
Iturturongka iti dalan ti kinasirib; idaldalanka kadagiti nalinteg a pagnaan.
12 When thou walkest, thy step shall not be hemmed in, and, if thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.
Inton magnaka, awanto ti agserra iti dalanmo ket no agtarayka, saankanto a maitublak.
13 Take fast hold of correction, let her not go, —keep her, for, she, is thy life.
Petpetam ti disiplina, saanmo nga ib-ibbatan; bantayam, ta isu ti biagmo.
14 Upon the path of the lawless, do not thou enter, and do not advance in the way of the wicked:
Saanmo a suroten ti wagas dagiti nadangkes ken saanmo nga ar-aramiden ti wagas dagiti agar-aramid iti dakes.
15 Avoid it, do not pass thereon—turn from it, and depart.
Liklikam daytoy, saanka a mapmapan iti daytoy; liklikam daytoy ket magnaka iti sabali a dalan.
16 For they sleep not, unless they can do mischief, —They rob themselves of their sleep, if they cannot cause someone to stumble,
Ta saanda a makaturog agingga a makaaramidda iti dakes ken saanda a makaturog agingga nga adda maipatublakda.
17 For they consume bread gotten by lawlessness, and, wine obtained by violence, they drink.
Ta kankanenda ti tinapay ti kinadangkes ken in-inumenda ti arak ti kinaranggas.
18 But, the path of the righteous, is as the light of dawn, —going on and brightening, unto meridian day.
Ngem ti dalan ti agar-aramid iti umno ket kas iti panagbannawag a lumawlawag; rumanraniag agingga nga umay ti naan-anay a kinaraniag ti aldaw.
19 The way of the lawless, is like darkness, they know not, at what they stumble.
Ti dalan dagiti nadangkes ket kasla sipnget - saanda nga ammo no ania iti pakaitibtibkulanda.
20 My son, to my words, attend, to my sayings, incline thou thine ear;
Anakko, ipangagmo dagiti sasaok; denggem dagiti ibagbagak.
21 Let them not depart from thine eyes, keep them in the midst of thy heart;
Saanmo nga ik-ikkaten kadagitoy ti panagkitam; salimetmetam dagitoy dita pusom.
22 For, life, they are, to them who find them, —and, to every part of one’s flesh, they bring healing.
Ta dagiti sasaok ket biag kadagiti mangsapul kadagitoy ken salun-at iti entero a bagida.
23 Above all that must be guarded, keep thou thy heart, for, out of it, are the issues of life.
Pagtalinaedem a natalged ti pusom ken ikagumaam daytoy a bantayan, ta manipud iti daytoy ket agayus ti ubbog ti biag.
24 Remove from thee, perverseness of mouth, and, craftiness of lips, put far from thee.
Ikkatem ti panagul-ulbodmo ken ibellengmo dagiti dakes a panagsarsaritam.
25 Let, thine eyes, right onward, look, —and, thine eyelashes, point straight before thee.
Arigna nga ikitam a deretso dagiti matam ken iti sangoanam laeng ti kitkitam.
26 Make level the track of thy foot, that, all thy ways, may be directed aright:
Agaramidka iti nasimpa a pagnaan dagiti sakam; ket natalgedto dagiti amin a dalanmo.
27 Decline not, to the right hand or to the left, —Turn away thy foot from wickedness.
Saanka a sumiasi a mapan iti kannawan wenno kannigid; iyadayom ti sakam iti dakes.
