Proverbs 3
1 My son, mine instruction, do not thou forget, and, my commandment, let thy heart observe;
१माझ्या मुला, माझ्या आज्ञा विसरु नकोस, आणि माझी शिकवण तुझ्या हृदयात ठेव;
2 For, length of days and years of life, and blessedness, shall they add to thee.
२कारण त्यापासून दीर्घायुष्य, वयोवृद्धी आणि शांती ही तुला अधिक लाभतील.
3 Lovingkindness and faithfulness, let them not forsake thee, —bind them, upon thy neck, write them upon the tablet of thy heart:
३विश्वासाचा करार आणि प्रामाणिकपणा तुला कधीही न सोडो, त्यांना एकत्र करून आपल्या गळ्यात बांध, ते आपल्या हृदयाच्या पाटीवर लिहून ठेव.
4 So find thou favour and good repute, in the eyes of God and man.
४म्हणजे तुला देवाच्या व मनुष्याच्या दृष्टीने कृपा व सुकीर्ती ही मिळतील.
5 Trust thou in Yahweh, with all thy heart, and, unto thine own understanding, do not lean:
५तू आपल्या सर्व अंतःकरणाने परमेश्वरावर विश्वास ठेव. आणि तुझ्या स्वत: च्या ज्ञानावर अवलंबून राहू नकोस;
6 In all thy ways, acknowledge him, and, he, will make straight thy paths.
६तुझ्या सर्व मार्गात त्याची जाणीव ठेव, आणि तो तुझ्या वाटा सरळ करील.
7 Do not become wise in thine own eyes, revere Yahweh, and avoid evil:
७तू आपल्याच दृष्टीने ज्ञानी असू नकोस; परमेश्वराचे भय धर आणि वाईटापासून दूर राहा.
8 Healing, shall it be to thy body, and refreshing, to thy bones.
८हे तुझ्या शरीराला आरोग्य आणि तुझ्या हाडांना सत्व असे होईल.
9 Honour thou Yahweh, with thy substance, and with the firstfruit of all thine increase;
९तुझ्या संपत्तीने आणि आपल्या सर्व उत्पन्नाच्या प्रथमफळाने परमेश्वरास मान दे,
10 So shall thy storehouses be filled with plenty, and, with new wine, shall thy vats overflow.
१०त्याने तुझी कोठारे समृद्धीने भरतील आणि तुझी पिंपे नव्या द्राक्षरसाने भरून वाहतील.
11 The, chastening of Yahweh, my son, do not reject, nor loathe his rebuke;
११माझ्या मुला, परमेश्वराची शिस्त तुच्छ मानू नको, आणि त्याच्या शासनाचा द्वेष करू नकोस,
12 For, whom Yahweh loveth, he correcteth, he causeth pain to the son in whom he delighteth.
१२जसा बाप आपल्या आवडत्या मुलाला शिक्षा करतो, तसा परमेश्वर ज्यांच्यावर प्रीती करतो त्यांनाच तो शिस्त लावतो.
13 How happy the man who hath found wisdom, and the man who draweth forth understanding,
१३ज्या कोणाला ज्ञान सापडले तो सुखी आहे, त्यास ग्रहणशक्ती सुद्धा प्राप्त होते.
14 For better is her merchandise, than the merchandise of silver, yea, than gold, her increase;
१४ज्ञानापासून जी काय वाढ होते त्याची प्राप्ती परत मिळणाऱ्या रुप्याच्या प्राप्तीपेक्षा चांगली आहे, आणि त्याचे फायदे उत्कृष्ट सोन्यापेक्षा चांगले आहेत.
15 More precious, is she, than corals, yea, none of thy delightful things, doth equal her:
१५ज्ञान रत्नांपेक्षा अधिक मौल्यवान आहे. आणि तुम्ही त्यांची अपेक्षा कराल त्याची तुलना तिच्याशी होऊ शकणार नाही.
16 Length of days, is in her right hand, in her left, are riches and honour;
१६तिच्या उजव्या हातात दीर्घ आयुष्य आहे, तिच्या डाव्या हातात संपत्ती आणि सन्मान आहेत.
17 Her ways, are ways of pleasantness, and, all her paths, are peace;
१७तिचे मार्ग दयाळूपणाचे मार्ग आहेत, आणि तिच्या सर्व वाटा शांतीच्या आहेत.
18 A tree of life, is she, to them who secure her, —and, they who hold her fast, are every one to be pronounced happy.
१८जे कोणी तिला धरून राहतात त्यांना ती जीवनाचे वृक्ष आहे, जो कोणी ते धरून ठेवतो तो सुखी आहे.
19 Yahweh, in wisdom, founded the earth, establishing the heavens with understanding;
१९परमेश्वराने पृथ्वीचा पाया ज्ञानाने घातला, परमेश्वराने ज्ञानाने आकाश स्थापिले.
20 By his knowledge, the resounding deeps were burst open, and, the skies, drop down dew.
२०त्याच्या ज्ञानाने खोल जलाशय फुटून उघडले, आणि ढग त्याचे दहिवर वर्षते.
21 My son, let them not depart from thine eyes, guard thou counsel, and purpose:
२१माझ्या मुला, सुज्ञान आणि दूरदर्शीपणा ही सांभाळून ठेव, आणि ती दृष्टीआड होऊ देऊ नकोस.
22 So shall they become life to thy soul, and an adorning to thy neck;
२२ते तुझ्या आत्म्याला जीवन देतील. आणि ते तुझ्या गळ्याभोवती घालण्याचे कृपेचे अलंकार होईल.
23 Then, shalt thou walk securely in thy way, and, thy foot, shall not stumble;
२३नंतर तू आपल्या मार्गाने सुरक्षितपणे चालशील, आणि तुझ्या पायाला ठेच लागणार नाही;
24 When thou sittest down, thou shalt have no dread, yea thou shalt lie down, and sweet shall be thy sleep.
२४तू जेव्हा झोपशील, तेव्हा घाबरणार नाहीस; तू झोप घेशील तेव्हा तुझी झोप गोड होईल.
25 Be not thou afraid of sudden dread, nor of the desolation of the lawless, when it cometh.
२५जेव्हा दुष्टाकडून नाशधूस होईल त्यामुळे, किंवा अचानक येणाऱ्या दहशतीस घाबरू नकोस;
26 For, Yahweh, will be in all thy ways, and will keep thy foot from the snare.
२६कारण परमेश्वर तुझ्या बाजूस आहे, आणि तुझा पाय पाशात अडकण्यापासून सांभाळील.
27 Withhold not good from them who ask it, when it is in power of thy hand to do it:
२७ज्यांचे हित करणे योग्य असून ते जेव्हा तुझ्या अधिकारात असल्यास, ते करण्यापासून माघार घेऊ नकोस.
28 Do not say to thy neighbour, Go and come again, and to-morrow I will give, when thou hast it by thee.
२८एखादी वस्तू तुझ्याजवळ असता; आपल्या शेजाऱ्यास असे म्हणू नको कि, “जा, आणि पुन्हा ये, आणि उद्या मी तुला देईन.”
29 Devise not against thy neighbour an injury, seeing that, he, dwelleth securely by thee.
२९तुमच्या शेजाऱ्याला त्रास देण्याची योजना आखू नकोस. जो तुझ्याजवळ राहतो आणि तुझ्यावर विश्वास ठेवतो.
30 Contend not with a man without cause, if he hath dealt thee no wrong.
३०काही कारण नसताना तू एखाद्या मनुष्याशी वाद करू नकोस, जेव्हा त्याने तुझे काहीही वाईट केलेले नाही.
31 Do not thou envy the man of violence, neither choose thou any of his ways;
३१तू हिंसाचारी मनुष्याचा हेवा करू नको किंवा त्याचे कोणतेही मार्ग निवडू नकोस.
32 For, an abomination to Yahweh, is the tortuous man, but, with the upright, he is intimate.
३२कारण परमेश्वर कुटिल मनुष्याचा तिरस्कार करतो; परंतु सरळांना तो त्याच्या आत्मविश्वासात आणतो.
33 The curse of Yahweh, is in the house of the lawless one, but, the home of the righteous, he blesseth.
३३परमेश्वराचा शाप दुर्जनांच्या घरावर असतो; परंतु तो नितीमानांच्या घराला आशीर्वाद देतो.
34 Though at scoffers he scoffeth, yet, to the humbled, he granteth favour.
३४तो थट्टा करणाऱ्याची थट्टा करतो, पण तो नम्रजनांस त्याची कृपा देतो.
35 Honour, shall the wise inherit, —but, as for dullards, shame shall carry them away.
३५ज्ञानी सन्मानाचे वतनदार होतील, पण मूर्ख त्यांच्या लज्जेत वर उचलले जातील.
