< Proverbs 3 >
1 My son, mine instruction, do not thou forget, and, my commandment, let thy heart observe;
Mwana wange, teweerabiranga bintu bye nakuyigiriza, era okuumanga ebiragiro byange mu mutima gwo,
2 For, length of days and years of life, and blessedness, shall they add to thee.
kubanga bijja kuwangaaza obulamu bwo ku nsi, era bikukulaakulanye.
3 Lovingkindness and faithfulness, let them not forsake thee, —bind them, upon thy neck, write them upon the tablet of thy heart:
Amazima n’ekisa tobyerabiranga; byesibe mu bulago bwo, obiwandiike ku mutima gwo.
4 So find thou favour and good repute, in the eyes of God and man.
Bw’otyo bw’onoofuna okuganja n’okusiimibwa eri Katonda n’eri abantu.
5 Trust thou in Yahweh, with all thy heart, and, unto thine own understanding, do not lean:
Weesige Mukama n’omutima gwo gwonna, so teweesigamanga ku magezi go gokka.
6 In all thy ways, acknowledge him, and, he, will make straight thy paths.
Mukama mukulembezenga mu by’okola byonna, naye anaakuluŋŋamyanga n’owangula.
7 Do not become wise in thine own eyes, revere Yahweh, and avoid evil:
Amagezi go tegakusigulanga, naye otyanga Mukama, era weewale okukola ebibi.
8 Healing, shall it be to thy body, and refreshing, to thy bones.
Onoofunanga obulamu mu mubiri gwo n’amagumba go ne gadda buggya.
9 Honour thou Yahweh, with thy substance, and with the firstfruit of all thine increase;
Mukama mugulumizenga n’eby’obugagga byo; n’ebibala ebisooka eby’ebintu byo byonna eby’omu nnimiro yo,
10 So shall thy storehouses be filled with plenty, and, with new wine, shall thy vats overflow.
olwo amaterekero go lwe ganajjulanga ebintu enkumu, era n’amasenero go ne gajjula ne gabooga omwenge omusu.
11 The, chastening of Yahweh, my son, do not reject, nor loathe his rebuke;
Mwana wange tonyoomanga kukangavvula kwa Mukama, n’okunenya kwe kulemenga okukukooya,
12 For, whom Yahweh loveth, he correcteth, he causeth pain to the son in whom he delighteth.
kubanga Mukama anenya oyo gw’ayagala, nga kitaawe w’omwana bw’anenya mutabani we gwe yeenyumiririzaamu.
13 How happy the man who hath found wisdom, and the man who draweth forth understanding,
Aweereddwa omukisa oyo afuna amagezi, omuntu oyo afuna okutegeera,
14 For better is her merchandise, than the merchandise of silver, yea, than gold, her increase;
kubanga amagezi gasinga ffeeza era galimu amagoba okusinga zaabu.
15 More precious, is she, than corals, yea, none of thy delightful things, doth equal her:
Amagezi ga muwendo mungi okusinga amayinja ag’omuwendo omungi: era tewali kyegombebwa kiyinza kugeraageranyizibwa nago.
16 Length of days, is in her right hand, in her left, are riches and honour;
Mu mukono gwago ogwa ddyo mwe muli obuwanguzi; ne mu mukono gwago ogwa kkono ne mubaamu obugagga n’ekitiibwa.
17 Her ways, are ways of pleasantness, and, all her paths, are peace;
Mu magezi mulimu essanyu, era n’amakubo gaago ga mirembe.
18 A tree of life, is she, to them who secure her, —and, they who hold her fast, are every one to be pronounced happy.
Amagezi muti gwa bulamu eri abo abagakwata ne baganyweza; abo abagakwata ne baganyweza baliweebwa omukisa.
19 Yahweh, in wisdom, founded the earth, establishing the heavens with understanding;
Amagezi, Mukama ge yakozesa okuteekawo emisingi gy’ensi; n’okutegeera kwe yakozesa okuteekawo eggulu;
20 By his knowledge, the resounding deeps were burst open, and, the skies, drop down dew.
n’okumanya kwe, kwe yakozesa okwawula obuziba bw’ennyanja, era n’ebire ne bivaamu omusulo.
21 My son, let them not depart from thine eyes, guard thou counsel, and purpose:
Mwana wange, beeranga n’okuteesa okulungi n’okusalawo ebisaana, ebyo biremenga okukuvaako,
22 So shall they become life to thy soul, and an adorning to thy neck;
binaabeeranga obulamu eri emmeeme yo, era ekyokwambala ekirungi ekinaawoomesanga obulago bwo.
23 Then, shalt thou walk securely in thy way, and, thy foot, shall not stumble;
Bw’otyo bw’onootambulanga nga onyweredde mu kkubo lyo, era ekigere kyo tekijjanga kwesittala.
24 When thou sittest down, thou shalt have no dread, yea thou shalt lie down, and sweet shall be thy sleep.
Bw’onoogalamiranga toobenga na kutya, weewaawo bw’oneebakanga otulo tunaakuwoomeranga.
25 Be not thou afraid of sudden dread, nor of the desolation of the lawless, when it cometh.
Totyanga kabenje kootomanyiridde, wadde okuzikirira okujjira abakozi b’ebibi,
26 For, Yahweh, will be in all thy ways, and will keep thy foot from the snare.
Kubanga Mukama y’anaabeeranga obwesigwa bwo, era anaalabiriranga ekigere kyo ne kitakwatibwa mu mutego.
27 Withhold not good from them who ask it, when it is in power of thy hand to do it:
Tommanga birungi abo be bisaanira bwe kibeera mu buyinza bwo okukikola.
28 Do not say to thy neighbour, Go and come again, and to-morrow I will give, when thou hast it by thee.
Togambanga muliraanwa wo nti, “Genda, onodda enkya ne nkuwa,” ate nga kye yeetaaga okirina.
29 Devise not against thy neighbour an injury, seeing that, he, dwelleth securely by thee.
Totegekanga kukola bulabe ku muliraanwa wo, atudde emirembe ng’akwesiga.
30 Contend not with a man without cause, if he hath dealt thee no wrong.
Tovunaananga muntu n’omu awatali nsonga nga talina kabi k’akukoze.
31 Do not thou envy the man of violence, neither choose thou any of his ways;
Tokwatirwanga obuggya omuntu ayigganya abalala, era tokolanga nga ye bw’akola,
32 For, an abomination to Yahweh, is the tortuous man, but, with the upright, he is intimate.
kubanga omuntu omugwagwa wa muzizo eri Mukama, naye abo abagolokofu abalinamu obwesige.
33 The curse of Yahweh, is in the house of the lawless one, but, the home of the righteous, he blesseth.
Ekikolimo kya Mukama kiri ku nnyumba y’ababi, naye awa omukisa ennyumba y’abatuukirivu.
34 Though at scoffers he scoffeth, yet, to the humbled, he granteth favour.
Ddala ddala, Mukama anyooma abanyoomi, naye abeetoowaza abawa ekisa.
35 Honour, shall the wise inherit, —but, as for dullards, shame shall carry them away.
Ab’amagezi balisikira ekitiibwa, naye abasirusiru baliswazibwa.
