< Proverbs 3 >

1 My son, mine instruction, do not thou forget, and, my commandment, let thy heart observe;
Ka capa, kang patukhaih lok hae pahnet hmah, kang paek ih lok hae palung thungah pakuem ah;
2 For, length of days and years of life, and blessedness, shall they add to thee.
nang hanah hing sawkhaih hoi monghaih na paek tih.
3 Lovingkindness and faithfulness, let them not forsake thee, —bind them, upon thy neck, write them upon the tablet of thy heart:
Tahmenhaih hoi loktang to caeh taak hmah; nangmah ih tahnong ah a oih ah loe, na palung cabu pongah tarik ah:
4 So find thou favour and good repute, in the eyes of God and man.
to tih nahaeloe Sithaw hmaa hoi kami hmaa ah mikhmai hnu ueloe, ahmin hoihaih na hnu tih.
5 Trust thou in Yahweh, with all thy heart, and, unto thine own understanding, do not lean:
Na palungthin boih hoi Angraeng oephaih to tawn ah; na panoekhaih pongah amha hmah.
6 In all thy ways, acknowledge him, and, he, will make straight thy paths.
Na caehhaih loklam kruekah anih to panoek ah, to tih nahaeloe na caehhaih loklam na hnusak tih.
7 Do not become wise in thine own eyes, revere Yahweh, and avoid evil:
Na mikhnuk ah palungha baktiah om hmah; Angraeng to zii ah loe, hmuensae to caeh taak ah.
8 Healing, shall it be to thy body, and refreshing, to thy bones.
To tih nahaeloe na thaquinawk ngantui o ueloe, na huhnawk doeh thacak o tih.
9 Honour thou Yahweh, with thy substance, and with the firstfruit of all thine increase;
Na tawnh ih hmuen, thingthai tangsuek hoiah Angraeng to pakoeh ah:
10 So shall thy storehouses be filled with plenty, and, with new wine, shall thy vats overflow.
to tiah na sak nahaeloe nang ih tapupnawk cang hoiah koi amthlai o ueloe, misurtui suekhaih muroihnawk doeh misurtui kangtha hoiah koi amthlai o tih.
11 The, chastening of Yahweh, my son, do not reject, nor loathe his rebuke;
Ka capa, Angraeng thuitaekhaih to patoek hmah; ang zoehhaih lok pongah doeh palung naa hmah:
12 For, whom Yahweh loveth, he correcteth, he causeth pain to the son in whom he delighteth.
palung ih capa loe ampa mah thuitaek baktih toengah, Angraeng mah palung ih kami loe thuitaek ah oh.
13 How happy the man who hath found wisdom, and the man who draweth forth understanding,
Palunghahaih pakrong moe, panoekhaih tawn kami loe tahamhoih.
14 For better is her merchandise, than the merchandise of silver, yea, than gold, her increase;
Palunghahaih loe sumkanglung pongah atho oh kue moe, sui pongah doeh hoih kue.
15 More precious, is she, than corals, yea, none of thy delightful things, doth equal her:
Atho kaom thlung kathim pongah doeh atho nat kue, na koeh ih hmuennawk boih hoiah doeh patah thai ai.
16 Length of days, is in her right hand, in her left, are riches and honour;
A bantang bangah hingsawkhaih to a suek, banqoi bangah loe angraenghaih hoi khingyahaih to a suek.
17 Her ways, are ways of pleasantness, and, all her paths, are peace;
Palunghahaih loklam loe nawm moe, a caehhaih loklamnawk boih ah monghaih to oh.
18 A tree of life, is she, to them who secure her, —and, they who hold her fast, are every one to be pronounced happy.
Palunghahaih loe palunghahaih patawn kami hanah hinghaih thingkung ah oh; palunghahaih tawn kami loe tahamhoih.
19 Yahweh, in wisdom, founded the earth, establishing the heavens with understanding;
Angraeng mah long hae palunghahaih hoiah ni sak; vannawk doeh panoekhaih hoiah a suek.
20 By his knowledge, the resounding deeps were burst open, and, the skies, drop down dew.
Kathuk parai tuipuinawk to a palunghahaih hoiah tapraek moe, tamai thung hoiah dantuinawk to a kraksak.
21 My son, let them not depart from thine eyes, guard thou counsel, and purpose:
Ka capa, palunghahaih hoi panoekhaih to na hmaa hoiah amkhraengsak ving hmah; pakuem poe ah.
22 So shall they become life to thy soul, and an adorning to thy neck;
To tiah na sak nahaeloe na pakhra hinghaih ah om ueloe, na tahnong kranghoihaih bungmu ah om tih.
23 Then, shalt thou walk securely in thy way, and, thy foot, shall not stumble;
Kholong caeh naah raihaih na tawn mak ai; khok doeh na pathuih mak ai.
24 When thou sittest down, thou shalt have no dread, yea thou shalt lie down, and sweet shall be thy sleep.
Na iih naah zithaih na tawn mak ai; ue, kahnaep ah na iip thai tih.
25 Be not thou afraid of sudden dread, nor of the desolation of the lawless, when it cometh.
Tasoehhaih na tawn mak ai, kahoih ai kaminawk mah parohaih doeh na tong mak ai.
26 For, Yahweh, will be in all thy ways, and will keep thy foot from the snare.
Angraeng loe nam haahaih ah om ueloe, dongh pongah amanh han ai ah na khoknawk to patawn tih.
27 Withhold not good from them who ask it, when it is in power of thy hand to do it:
Na ban ah sakthaihaih na tawnh naah, kahoih hmuen sak pae han krak, tiah na poek ih kami nuiah kahoih hmuen to sah ai ah om hmah.
28 Do not say to thy neighbour, Go and come again, and to-morrow I will give, when thou hast it by thee.
Na imtaeng kami han paek koi hmuen na tawnh, toe anih khaeah vaihi loe amlaem raeh, khawnbang nang zoh let naah kang paek han hmang, tiah thui hmah.
29 Devise not against thy neighbour an injury, seeing that, he, dwelleth securely by thee.
Nang oephaih hoiah khosah na imtaeng kami khaeah, kasae sak han atim hmah.
30 Contend not with a man without cause, if he hath dealt thee no wrong.
Na nuiah sethaih sah ai kami to, tidoeh na ai ah zoeh hmah.
31 Do not thou envy the man of violence, neither choose thou any of his ways;
Pacaekthlaek kami ih hmuen to ut hmah loe, a caehhaih loklam to awt hmah.
32 For, an abomination to Yahweh, is the tortuous man, but, with the upright, he is intimate.
Poek angkawnh kaminawk loe Angraeng mah panuet; toe poektoeng kaminawk loe angmah hoi nawnto angkomhaih to a sak.
33 The curse of Yahweh, is in the house of the lawless one, but, the home of the righteous, he blesseth.
Angraeng tangoenghaih loe kahoih ai kaminawk imthung ah phak, toe katoeng kaminawk ohhaih ahmuen loe Angraeng mah tahamhoihaih paek.
34 Though at scoffers he scoffeth, yet, to the humbled, he granteth favour.
Minawk pahnui thuih kami to anih mah pahnui thuih toeng, toe kami tlim ah khosah kaminawk khaeah loe tahmenhaih to a paek.
35 Honour, shall the wise inherit, —but, as for dullards, shame shall carry them away.
Palungha kaminawk loe lensawkhaih to toepsak; toe amthu kaminawk loe azatsak.
