< Proverbs 29 >
1 He that being often reproved stiffeneth his neck, suddenly shall be hurt, and there be no healing.
Mũndũ ũrĩa ũikaraga omĩtie ngingo thuutha wa kũrũithio maita maingĩ, akaanangwo o rĩmwe, na aage kĩhonia.
2 When the righteous become great, the people rejoice, but, when a lawless man beareth rule, a people sigh.
Rĩrĩa andũ arĩa athingu matheerema, andũ nĩmakenaga; no rĩrĩa andũ arĩa aaganu maathana, andũ nĩgũcaaya macaayaga.
3 A man who loveth wisdom, gladdeneth his father, but, a companion of harlots, destroyeth wealth.
Mũndũ ũrĩa wendete ũũgĩ atũũragia ithe na gĩkeno, no mũndũ ũrĩa ũceeraga na maraya nĩgũitanga aitangaga ũtonga wake.
4 A king, by justice, shall establish a land, —but, a man open to bribes, bringeth it to ruin.
Mũthamaki ũrĩ matuĩro ma kĩhooto aikaragia bũrũri ũrĩ mwĩkindĩru, no ũrĩa ũkorokagĩra mahaki nĩ kwananga awanangaga.
5 A man who flattereth his neighbour, spreadeth, a net, over his steps.
Mũndũ ũrĩa wĩyendithagĩrĩria harĩ mũndũ wa itũũra rĩake na maheeni, nĩ wabu aambagĩra magũrũ make.
6 In the transgression of a wicked man, is a snare, but, the righteous, doth shout in triumph and rejoice.
Mũndũ mwaganu ategagwo nĩ mehia make we mwene, no mũndũ mũthingu ainaga na agakena.
7 The righteous doth acknowledge the plea of the poor, but, the lawless, regardeth not knowledge.
Andũ arĩa athingu nĩmamenyagĩrĩra kĩhooto kĩa arĩa athĩĩni, no arĩa aaganu matirũmbũyagia kĩhooto kĩao.
8 Men given to mockery, inflame a city, —but, wise men, turn away anger.
Anyũrũrania matũmaga itũũra inene rĩrĩmbũke ta mwaki, no andũ oogĩ nĩkũniina maniinaga marakara.
9 A wise man pleading with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no settlement.
Mũndũ mũũgĩ angĩthiĩ igooti-inĩ na mũndũ mũkĩĩgu, mũndũ mũkĩĩgu arĩrĩmbũkaga nĩ marakara na akanyũrũrania, naguo thayũ ũkaaga.
10 Blood-thirsty men, hate the blameless man, and, as for the upright, they seek his life.
Andũ arĩa maitaga thakame nĩmathũire mũndũ mwĩhokeku, no andũ arĩa arũngĩrĩru macaragia ũrĩa mangĩtiirĩrĩra muoyo wake.
11 All his anger, doth a dullard let go, but, a wise man, by keeping it back, stilleth it.
Mũndũ mũkĩĩgu aitũrũraga marakara make mothe, no mũndũ mũũgĩ aikaraga amarigĩrĩirie, akahoorera.
12 When a ruler giveth heed to the word of falsehood, all his attendants, become lawless.
Mũndũ ũrĩa wathanaga angĩthikĩrĩria maheeni-rĩ, anene ake othe matuĩkaga andũ aaganu.
13 The poor man and the man of usury, meet together, he that enlighteneth the eyes of them both, is Yahweh.
Mũndũ mũthĩĩni na mũndũ mũhinyanĩrĩria harĩ ũndũ ũmwe ũmahaananĩtie: Jehova nĩwe ũtũmaga maitho mao eerĩ moone.
14 When a king judgeth faithfully the poor, his throne, to futurity, shall be established.
Mũthamaki angĩtuĩra athĩĩni ciira na kĩhooto-rĩ, gĩtĩ gĩake kĩa ũnene gĩtũũraga kĩrũmĩte nginya tene.
15 A rod with rebuke, giveth wisdom, but, a youth unrestrained, bringeth shame to his mother.
Rũthanju na kũrũithio ciĩkagĩra mũndũ ũũgĩ, no mwana wa kũrekererio aconorithagia nyina.
16 When the lawless become great, transgression increaseth, but, the righteous, shall behold, their ruin.
Hĩndĩ ĩrĩa andũ aaganu matheerema, noguo mehia matheeremaga, no andũ arĩa athingu nĩmakerorera igwa rĩao.
17 Correct thy son, that he may give thee rest, that he may give delight to thy soul.
Herithagia mũrũguo, na nĩagatũma ũgĩe na thayũ; nĩagatũma ũgĩe na gĩkeno ngoro-inĩ.
18 Where there is no vision, a people is let loose, but, he that keepeth instruction, how happy is he!
Kũrĩa gũtarĩ na ũguũrio, kĩrĩndĩ gĩticookaga kwĩrigĩrĩria; no gũkena nĩ mũndũ ũrĩa ũrũmagia watho.
19 By words, a servant will not be corrected, though he perceiveth, yet is there no answer.
Ndungata ndĩngĩhera nĩ kwarĩrio gũtheri; o na ĩngĩtaũkĩrwo nĩ ũhoro ndĩngĩũrũmbũiya.
20 Thou hast seen a man hasty in his words, —there is, more hope of a dullard, than of him.
Wanona mũndũ ũhiũhaga kwaria? Mũndũ mũkĩĩgu arĩ na kĩĩrĩgĩrĩro kũmũkĩra.
21 He that dealeth tenderly with his servant from childhood, in his after life, shall have him for a son.
Mũndũ angĩnania ndungata yake kuuma wĩthĩ wayo, marigĩrĩrio-inĩ nĩĩkamũrehera kĩeha.
22 A man given to anger, stirreth up strife, and, he that exceedeth in wrath, aboundeth in transgression.
Mũndũ wa marakara aarahũraga ngarari, nake mũndũ wa marũrũ agĩĩaga na mehia maingĩ.
23 The loftiness of a man, layeth him low, —but, one of a lowly spirit, shall attain unto honour.
Mwĩtĩĩo wa mũndũ nĩũmũnyiihagia, no mũndũ ũrĩa wa ngoro ya kwĩnyiihia nĩagatĩĩo.
24 He that shareth with a thief, hateth himself, an oath, he heareth, yet may not tell.
Mũndũ wa kũgĩa thiritũ na mũici nĩ muoyo wake mwene athũire; ehĩtithagio na ndangĩruta ũira.
25 The fear of man, setteth a snare, but, he that trusteth in Yahweh, shall be placed on high.
Gwĩtigĩra mũndũ gũtuĩkaga mũtego, no ũrĩa wĩhokaga Jehova aikaraga arĩ mũgitĩre.
26 Many, seek the face of a ruler, but, from Yahweh, is the sentence of each one.
Andũ aingĩ nĩmacaragia kũiguuo nĩ mũnene, no mũndũ oonaga kĩhooto kuuma kũrĩ Jehova.
27 An abomination to the righteous, is the man of perversity, and, an abomination to the lawless, is a man of straightforward way.
Andũ arĩa athingu monaga andũ arĩa matarĩ ehokeku ta kĩndũ kĩrĩ magigi; nao andũ arĩa aaganu moonaga andũ arĩa arũngĩrĩru ta kĩndũ kĩrĩ magigi.
