< Proverbs 18 >
1 A man seeketh, for satisfaction, going his own way, through all safe counsel, he breaketh.
Ti tao a mangiyad-adayo iti bagina ket mangbirbiruk iti bukodna a tarigagay, ken kabusorna ti nasayaat a panangikeddeng.
2 A dullard, delighteth not, in understanding, in nothing save the exposing of his own heart.
Saan a makasarak ti maysa a maag iti ragsak iti pannakaawat, ngem iti laeng panangipakaammona iti adda iti pusona.
3 When the lawless man cometh in, then cometh also contempt, and, with shame, reproach.
No dumteng ti nadangkes a tao, kakuyogna a dumteng ti pananguyaw-kakuyogna ti panangpabain ken panangumsi.
4 Deep waters, are the words of a man’s mouth, —a bubbling brook, the well-spring of wisdom.
Dagiti isawsawang ti ngiwat ti tao ket maiyarig iti naguuneg a danum; ti burayok ti kinasirib ket maiyarig iti agay-ayus a waig.
5 To prefer a lawless man, is not good, thrusting away the righteous, in judgment.
Saan a nasayaat nga ayunan dagiti nadangkes, wenno ipaidam ti hustisia kadagiti agar-aramid iti nalinteg.
6 the lips of a dullard, enter into contention, and his mouth, for blows, crieth out.
Dagiti bibig ti maysa a maag ti mangipapaay kenkuana iti panagririri, ken agaw-awis ti ngiwatna iti pannakabaot.
7 The mouth of a dullard, is his ruin, and, his lips, are a snare to his soul.
Ti ngiwat ti maysa a maag ti mismo a pakadadaelanna, ken siloanna ti bagina babaen kadagiti mismo a bibigna.
8 the words of a tattler, are dainties, they, therefore go down into the chambers of the inner man.
Dagiti sasao ti maysa a managtsismis ket kasla taraon a naimas, ket dumanonda kadagiti kaunggan a paset ti bagi.
9 Surely he that is slothful in his work, brother, is he to a master at laying waste.
Kasta met, a ti naliway iti trabahona ket kabsat ti tao nga adu ti madaddadaelna.
10 A tower of strength, is the Name of Yahweh, thereinto, runneth the righteous, and is safe.
Ti nagan ni Yahweh ket kasla natibker a torre; natalged ti tao nga agar-aramid iti nalinteg nga agkamang iti daytoy.
11 The substance of a rich man, is his strong city, and like a high wall, in his imagination.
Ti kinabaknang ti nabaknang ket arigna nga isu ti nasarikedkedan a siudadna, ken ti panangipagarupna ket nangato a pader daytoy.
12 Before grievous injury, a man’s heart is haughty, and, before honour, is humility.
Sakbay ti pannakadadaelna, napalangguad ti puso ti maysa a tao, ngem umun-una ti panagpakumbaba sakbay ti pannakaitan-ok.
13 He that answereth before he heareth, a folly, it is to him, and, a reproach.
Ti tao a sumungbat sakbay a dumngeg-isu ti kinamaag ken pakaibabainanna.
14 The spirit of a man, sustaineth his sickness, but, a dejected spirit, who can bear it?
Ti espiritu ti maysa a tao ket makalasat iti panagsakit, ngem siasino koma ti makaibtur iti naburak nga espiritu?
15 the heart of the intelligent, acquireth knowledge, yea, the ear of the wise, seeketh knowledge.
Ti puso ti nalaing ket makagun-od iti pannakaammo, ken ti masirib a tao ket birbirukenna daytoy.
16 The gift of a man, maketh room for him, and, before great men, setteth him down.
Ti sagut ti maysa a tao ket mabalin a manglukat iti dalan ken mangipan kenkuana iti sangoanan ti maysa a napateg a tao.
17 Righteous is he that is first in his own cause, then cometh his neighbour, and thoroughly searcheth him.
Kasla pudno ti umuna a mangikalintegan iti kasona agingga a dumteng ti kabusorna a mangpalutpot kenkuana.
18 The lot causeth, contentions, to cease, and, the mighty, it parteth.
Ti panagbibinnunot ket urnosenna dagiti riri ken pagsisinaenna dagiti agkabusor.
19 A brother estranged, [is worse] than a strong city, —and, contentions, are as the bar of a citadel.
Ti panagballigim a mangay-ayo iti napasakitan a kabsat ket narigrigat ngem iti panagballigim a mangparmek iti natibker a siudad, ken ti panagapa ket maiyarig kadagiti balunet iti maysa a palasio.
20 Of the fruit of a man’s mouth, shall his inmost mind be satisfied, with the product of his lips, shall he be satisfied.
Mapno ti tian ti tao gapu iti bunga ti bibigna; mapnek isuna babaen iti maapit dagiti bibigna.
21 Death and life, are in the power of the tongue, and, its friends, shall eat its fruits.
Ti patay ken biag ket adda iti pannakabalin ti dila, ken dagiti mangayat iti daytoy ket kanendanto ti bungana.
22 Who hath found a wife, hath found a blessing, and hath obtained favour from Yahweh.
Ti siasinoman a makabirok iti asawa a babai ket makabirok iti nasayaat a banag ken makaawat iti pabor manipud kenni Yahweh.
23 Supplications, doth the poor man utter, but, the rich, answereth fiercely.
Agpakpakaasi ti marigrigat a tao, ngem nagubsang ti panangsungbat ti nabaknang a tao.
24 A man having [many] friends, shall come to ruin, but there is a loving one, who sticketh closer than a brother.
Ti mangibagbaga nga adu ti gagayyemna ket maipan iti pannakadadael babaen kadagitoy, ngem adda gayyem a nasingsinged ngem iti maysa a kabsat.
