Proverbs 17
1 Better a dry morsel, and peace therewith, than a house full of contentious sacrifices.
၁တအိမ် လုံးပြည့် သော ယဇ် ပူဇော်ပွဲကို ရန်တွေ့ သောစိတ် နှင့်စားရသည်ထက်၊ ငြိမ်သက် ခြင်းနှင့် ယှဉ် သော မုန့် တလုပ်စာသည်သာ၍ ကောင်း ၏။
2 A prudent servant, shall rule over a son who causeth shame, and, in the midst of brothers, shall he share the inheritance.
၂ပညာ ရှိသောကျွန် သည် အရှက်ခွဲ သောသား ကို အုပ်စိုး ၍ ညီအစ်ကို တို့နှင့်အတူ အမွေ ခံ တတ်၏။
3 Fining-pot for silver, crucible for gold, but, he that trieth hearts, is Yahweh.
၃ငွေ စစ်စရာဘို့ မိုက် ကို၎င်း ၊ ရွှေ စစ်စရာဘို့ မီးဖို ကို ၎င်း သုံးတတ်၏။ စိတ် နှလုံးကိုကား ၊ ထာဝရဘုရား စစ် တော်မူ၏။
4 Discord, giveth heed to the aggrieving lip, —Falsehood, giveth ear to the destroying tongue.
၄မ တရားသဖြင့်ပြုသောသူသည် မုသာ စကား ကို ယုံ တတ်၏။ မုသာ သုံးသောသူသည် လည်း ဆိုးညစ် သော စကား ကို နားထောင် တတ်၏။
5 He that mocketh the poor, hath reproached his Maker, He that maketh merry at distress, shall not be held innocent.
၅ဆင်းရဲသား တို့ကို မထီ လေးစားပြုသောသူသည် ဖန်ဆင်း တော်မူသောဘုရားကိုကဲ့ရဲ့ ၏။ သူတပါး၌ ဘေး ရောက်လျှင် ဝမ်းမြောက် တတ်သောသူသည် လည်း အပြစ်ဒဏ် နှင့် မ လွတ်ရ။
6 The crown of old men, consists of children’s children, and the adornment of children, is their fathers.
၆မြေး တို့သည် အသက်ကြီး သောသူ၏ သရဖူ ဖြစ် ၏။ သား တို့၏ဘုန်း ကား အဘ တည်း။
7 Unseemly in an unworthy man, is the lip of excellence, much more, in one of noble mind, the lip of falsehood.
၇မြတ် သောစကား သည် မိုက် သောသူနှင့် မ တော် မသင့်။ ထိုမျှမက ၊ မုသာ စကား သည် မင်း နှင့်မတော် မသင့်။
8 A gift, in the eyes of its owner, is, a stone of beauty, whithersoever it turneth, it bringeth prosperity.
၈လက်ဆောင် သည် ခံ သောသူအထင် အတိုင်း ကျောက်မြတ် ကဲ့သို့ဖြစ်၍၊ မျက်နှာ ပြုလေရာရာ ၌ အောင် တတ်၏။
9 He that hideth a transgression, seeketh love, but, he that repeateth a matter, separateth intimate friends.
၉သူတပါးပြစ်မှား သော အမှုကိုဝှက် ထားသောသူသည် မေတ္တာ ကို ပြုစု ၏။ ကြားပြော သောသူမူကား ၊ မိတ်ဆွေ တို့ကို ကွဲပြား စေ၏။
10 A reproof sinketh more deeply into an intelligent man than a hundred stripes, into a dullard!
၁၀မိုက် သောသူသည် ဒဏ်ချက် တရာ ကို အမှုထား သည်ထက်၊ ပညာရှိ သောသူသည် ဆုံးမ သော စကားကို သာ၍ အမှု ထားတတ်၏။
11 Nothing less than rebellion, doth a wicked man seek, and, a relentless messenger, shall be sent out against him.
၁၁ပုန်ကန် သောသူသည် မ တရားသောအမှုကိုသာ ပြုစု တတ်၏။ ထိုကြောင့် ကြမ်းကြုတ် သော တမန် ကို သူ့ ဆီ သို့စေလွှတ် ရ၏။
12 Let a bereaved bear encounter man, rather than a dullard, with his folly!
၁၂မိုက် သောစိတ်ထဆဲရှိသော လူမိုက် နှင့်မ တွေ့ ပါစေနှင့်။ သား ငယ်ပျောက်သော ဝံ မနှင့်သာ၍တွေ့ပါစေသော။
13 He that returneth evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house.
၁၃အကြင်သူသည် ကျေးဇူး ကိုမသိ၊ မ ကောင်းသော အမှုနှင့် ဆပ် ၏။ ထိုသူ ၏အိမ် သည် မ ကောင်းသော အမှုနှင့် မ ကင်း မလွတ်ရ။
14 A letting forth of water, is the beginning of strife, therefore, before it breaketh out, abandon, contention.
၁၄ရန်တွေ့ စ အမှုသည် ရေ ကန်ပေါင် ပေါက်စကဲ့သို့ဖြစ်သောကြောင့် ၊ ရန် မ တွေ့မှီတွေ့ စရာ အကြောင်းကို ရှောင် လော့။
15 He that justifieth the lawless, and he that condemneth the righteous, an abomination to Yahweh, are they, both.
၁၅မ တရားသောသူတို့ကို အပြစ် မှလွှတ် သော သူနှင့် ၊ ဖြောင့်မတ် သောသူတို့ကို အပြစ် စီရင်သော သူနှစ် ယောက်လုံးတို့ကို ထာဝရဘုရား စက်ဆုပ် ရွံ့ရှာတော်မူ၏။
16 Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a dullard? that he who is without sense, may acquire wisdom.
၁၆မိုက် သောသူသည် ပညာ ကိုအလို မ ရှိသည် ဖြစ်၍ ၊ ပညာ အဘိုးကို အဘယ် ကြောင့်သူ၌အပ်ရ သနည်း။
17 At all times, doth a friend love, and, a brother for distress, must be born.
၁၇အဆွေ ခင်ပွန်းသည် အခါ ခပ်သိမ်းချစ် တတ်၏။ ညီအစ်ကို သည် ဒုက္ခ ကာလအဘို့ မွေးဘွား လျက်ရှိ၏။
18 A man lacking sense, is one who striketh hands, giving security, before his neighbour.
၁၈ဉာဏ် မဲ့ သောသူ သည် လက်ဝါး ချင်းရိုက် ၍၊ အဆွေ ခင်ပွန်းရှေ့ မှာ အာမခံ တတ်၏။
19 A lover of transgression, is one who loveth strife, he that heighteneth his door, seeketh grievous harm.
၁၉ရန်တွေ့ ခြင်းကို နှစ်သက် သောသူ သည် လွန်ကျူး ခြင်းကိုလည်း နှစ်သက် တတ်၏။ မိမိ တံခါး ကို ချီးမြှင့် သောသူသည် ပျက်စီး ခြင်းကို ရှာ တတ်၏။
20 The crooked in heart, shall not find good, and, he that is perverse with his tongue, shall fall into wickedness.
၂၀သဘော ကောက် သောသူ သည်ကောင်း သော အကျိုးကို မ တွေ့ တတ်။ စကား လိမ် သောသူသည် ဘေး ဥပဒ် နှင့် တွေ့ကြုံ တတ်၏။
21 He that begetteth a dullard, it is to his own grief, neither can the father of the base, rejoice.
၂၁မိုက် သောသူကို ဖြစ်ဘွား စေသောသူသည် မိမိ ကို မိမိဝမ်းနည်း စေတတ်၏။ မိုက် သောသူ၏အဘ ၌ ဝမ်းမြောက် စရာအကြောင်းမ ရှိ။
22 A joyful heart, worketh an excellent cure, —but, a stricken spirit, drieth up the bone.
၂၂စိတ် ရွှင်လန်း ခြင်းသည် ကျန်းမာ စေတတ်၏။ စိတ် ပျက် ခြင်းမူကား ၊ အရိုး တို့ကိုသွေ့ခြောက် စေတတ်၏။
23 A bribe out of his bosom, doth a lawless man take, to pervert the ways of justice.
၂၃မ တရားသောသူသည် တရား လမ်း ကိုဖျက် သော အဘိုးတံစိုး ကို သူတပါး၏ ခါးပိုက် အိတ်ထဲက နှိုက်ယူ တတ်၏။
24 Before the face of the discerning, is wisdom, but, the eyes of a dullard, are in the ends of the earth.
၂၄ဉာဏ် ရှိသောသူသည် ပညာ ကို မျက်မှောက် ပြုတတ်၏။ မိုက် သောသူ၏ မျက်စိ မူကား ၊ မြေကြီး စွန်း တိုင်အောင်လှည့်၍ ကြည့်ရှုတတ်၏။
25 A vexation to his father, is the son that is a dullard, and a bitterness, to her that bare him.
၂၅မိုက် သောသူသည် အဘ ဝမ်းနည်း စရာ အကြောင်း ၊ မွေး သော အမိစိတ်ညစ် စရာအကြောင်း ဖြစ်၏။
26 Surely, to chastise the righteous, is not good, to smite the noble-minded for equity.
၂၆ဖြောင့်မတ် သောသူကို အပြစ် ဒဏ်မ ပေးကောင်း။ တရား သဖြင့် စီရင်သော မင်း ကိုလည်း မထိခိုက် ကောင်း။
27 Sparing of his words, is one who valueth knowledge, and, of a thoughtful spirit, is a man of intelligence.
၂၇သိပ္ပံ အတတ်နှင့်ပြည့်စုံ သောသူသည် စကား မ များတတ်။ ဉာဏ် ကောင်းသောသူ သည်လည်း ၊ ဧ သောစိတ် ရှိတတ်၏။
28 Even a fool, holding his peace, is accounted, wise, —He that closeth his lips, [is thought] to have understanding.
၂၈မိုက် သောသူပင် တိတ်ဆိတ် စွာနေလျှင်ပညာ ရှိ ဟူ၍၎င်း၊ မိမိ နှုတ် ကိုမ ဖွင့်ဘဲ နေသောသူကို လည်း၊ ဉာဏ် ကောင်းသောသူဟူ၍၎င်း သူတပါး ထင် တတ်၏။
