Proverbs 14
1 Every, wise woman, buildeth up her house, but, a foolish one, with her own hands, would break it down.
La mujer sabia edifica su casa, pero la mujer insensata la está derribando con sus manos.
2 He that walketh in his uprightness, is one who revereth Yahweh, but, he that is crooked in his way, is one who despiseth him.
El que sigue su camino en justicia, tiene ante sí el temor de Jehová; pero aquel cuyos caminos están retorcidos no le da honor.
3 In the mouth of the foolish, is a haughty rod, but, as for the lips of the wise, thou shalt give heed to them!
En la boca del hombre necio hay una vara para su espalda, pero los labios de los sabios los mantendrán seguros.
4 Without cattle, the crib is clean, but, much increase, is in the strength of the ox.
Donde no hay bueyes, su lugar de comida está vacío; pero mucho aumento viene a través de la fuerza del buey.
5 A faithful witness, will not deceive, but a false witness, uttereth deceitful things.
Un testigo verdadero no dice lo que es falso, pero un testigo falso está exhalando engaño.
6 A scoffer seeketh wisdom, and there is none, but, knowledge, to the discerning, is easy.
El que odia a la autoridad, buscando sabiduría, no la entiende; pero el conocimiento llega fácilmente al hombre inteligente.
7 Get thee from the presence of a man that is a dullard, when thou perceivest not the lips of knowledge.
Apártate del necio, porque no hallarás labios del conocimiento.
8 The wisdom of the prudent, is to understand his way, but, the folly of dullards, is a fraud.
La sabiduría del hombre de buen sentido hace que su camino sea claro; pero el comportamiento imprudente de los necios es un engaño.
9 the foolish, scoff at guilt, but, between the upright, is good pleasure.
En las tiendas de aquellos que odian a la autoridad hay error, pero en la casa del hombre recto hay gracia.
10 The heart, knoweth its own bitterness, and, in its joy, no stranger shareth.
Nadie tiene conocimiento del dolor de un hombre sino él mismo; y una persona extraña no tiene parte en su alegría.
11 The house of the lawless, shall be destroyed, but, the tent of the upright, shall flourish.
La casa del pecador será derribada; pero la tienda del hombre recto hará bien.
12 There is a way that enticeth a man, but, at the latter end thereof, are the ways of death!
Hay un camino que parece derecho ante un hombre, pero su fin son los caminos de la muerte.
13 Even, in laughter, the heart may be in pain, and, the latter end of gladness, be grief.
Incluso mientras se ríe el corazón puede estar triste; y después de la alegría llega el dolor.
14 With his own ways, shall be filled the backslider in heart, and, from himself, shall a good man [be satisfied].
Aquel cuyo corazón se ha apartado tendrá la recompensa de sus caminos en toda su medida; pero un buen hombre tendrá la recompensa de sus obras.
15 The simple, believeth every word, but, the prudent, looketh well to his going.
El hombre simple tiene fe en cada palabra, pero el hombre de buen sentido tiene cuidado de su caminar.
16 A wise man, feareth, and avoideth evil, but, a dullard, is haughty and confident.
El hombre sabio, temiendo, se guarda del mal; pero el hombre tonto continúa en su orgullo, sin pensar en el peligro.
17 The impatient, worketh folly, and, a man of wicked devices, is hated.
El que se enoja pronto, hará lo que es insensato, pero el hombre de buen juicio callará.
18 The simple inherit folly, but, the shrewd, crowneth himself with knowledge.
El comportamiento necio es patrimonio de lo simple, pero los hombres de buen sentido están coronados por el conocimiento.
19 Abased are the wicked, before the good, and, the lawless, at the gates of the righteous.
Las rodillas del mal se inclinan ante el bien; y los pecadores descienden en el polvo a las puertas de los rectos.
20 Even by his neighbour, is a poor man hated, but, the lovers of the rich man, are many.
El pobre es odiado incluso por su prójimo, pero el hombre rico tiene muchos amigos.
21 He that sheweth contempt for his neighbour, sinneth, but, he that sheweth favour to the afflicted, how happy is he!
El que no respeta a su prójimo es un pecador, pero el que tiene lástima de los pobres es feliz.
22 Shall they not, become vagrants, who devise evil? but, lovingkindness and faithfulness, [be to] them who devise good.
¿No se equivocarán los que maquinan el mal? Pero la misericordia y la buena fe son para los obradores del bien.
23 By all labour, there will be abundance, but, the talk of the lips, tendeth only to want.
En todo trabajo duro hay ganancias, pero hablar solo hace que un hombre sea pobre.
24 the crown of the wise, is their wealth, but, the folly of dullards, is, folly.
Su sabiduría es una corona para los sabios, pero su comportamiento necio es alrededor de la cabeza de los imprudentes.
25 A deliverer of souls, is a faithful witness, but, he that uttereth falsehoods, is a fraud.
Un verdadero testigo es el salvador de vidas; pero el que dice cosas falsas es una causa de engaño.
26 In the reverence of Yahweh, is strong security, and, his children, shall have a place of refuge.
Porque aquel en cuyo corazón está el temor de Jehová, hay una gran esperanza; y sus hijos tendrán un lugar seguro.
27 The reverence of Yahweh, is a well-spring of life, that a man may avoid the snares of death.
El temor del Señor es una fuente de vida, por la cual uno puede ser apartado de las redes de la muerte.
28 In the multitude of a people, is the majesty of the king, but, in the ceasing of population, is the ruin of the prince.
La gloria del rey está en el número de su pueblo; y por necesidad del pueblo, un gobernante puede llegar a la destrucción.
29 One slow to anger, hath great understanding, but, the hasty in spirit, exalteth folly.
El que tarda en enojarse tiene gran sensatez; pero aquel cuyo espíritu es demasiado rápido enaltece a lo que es tonto.
30 The life of the whole body, is a tranquil mind, but, a decay of the bones, is jealousy.
Una mente tranquila es la vida del cuerpo, pero la envidia es una enfermedad en los huesos.
31 The oppressor of the poor, hath reproached his Maker, but he that sheweth favour to the needy, is one who, holdeth Him in honour.
El que es duro con el pobre avergüenza a su Hacedor; pero el que tiene misericordia de los necesitados le da honor.
32 By his own wickedness, shall the lawless man, be thrust down, but the righteous, seeketh refuge in his integrity.
El pecador es trastornado en su maldad, pero el hombre recto tiene esperanza en su justicia.
33 In the heart of the intelligent, reposeth wisdom, but, in the midst of dullards, it maketh itself known.
La sabiduría tiene su lugar de descanso en la mente de los sabios, pero ella no se ve entre los necios.
34 Righteousness, exalteth a nation, but, a reproach to any people, is sin.
Por la justicia una nación se enaltece, pero el pecado es motivo de vergüenza para los pueblos.
35 The good-pleasure of a king, is due to a servant who is discreet, but, his indignation, shall be against him that bringeth shame.
El rey se complace en un siervo que hace sabiamente, pero su ira es contra el que es motivo de vergüenza.
