Proverbs 12
1 He that loveth correction, loveth knowledge, but, he that hateth reproof, is brutish.
Si amas el conocimiento, amarás la disciplina. ¡Todo el que aborrece la corrección es un necio!
2 A good man, obtaineth favour from Yahweh, but, a man of wicked devices, will he condemn.
El Señor bendice a los que hacen el bien, pero condena a los que conspiran para hacer el mal.
3 A son of earth, shall not be established, by lawlessness, but, the root of the righteous, shall not be disturbed.
La maldad no brinda seguridad, pero los que viven en justicia tienen sus raíces profundas y no serán removidos.
4 A virtuous woman, is the crown of her husband, but, a veritable decay in his bones, is she that causeth shame.
Una buena esposa es corona para su esposo, pero la mujer que trae vergüenza es como descomposición en sus huesos.
5 The plans of the righteous, are just, but, the counsels of the lawless, are deceitful.
Las personas que hacen el bien, hacen planes justos, pero el consejo de los malvados es engañoso.
6 The words of the lawless, are—of lying in wait for blood, but, the mouth of the upright, shall deliver them.
Las palabras de los malvados son como una emboscada con violencia, pero las palabras de las personas honestas los salvarán.
7 Overthrown are the lawless and they are not, but, the house of the righteous, shall stand.
Los malvados son destriudos y olvidados. Pero la familia de los que hacen el bien permanece firme.
8 In proportion to his prudence, is a man, to be praised, but, the perverse in heart, shall be an object of contempt.
Las personas son estimadas cuando hablan con sensatez, pero los que tienen mentes perversas son aborrecidos.
9 Better slighted, and have a servant, than to honour oneself, and come short of bread.
Mejor es ser humilde y trabajar para ti mismo, que ser un hombre jactancioso y no tener nada para comer.
10 A righteous man, regardeth the desire of his beast, but, the compassions of the lawless, are cruel.
Los justos cuidan de sus animales, pero el cuidado de los malvados es crueldad.
11 He that tilleth his land, shall be filled with food, but, he that runneth after worthless men, lacketh sense.
Si cultivas la tierra, tendrás abundancia de dinero, pero si vas detrás de cosas inútiles, eres un tonto.
12 A lawless man craveth the prey of the wicked, but, the root of the righteous, is enduring.
Las personas malvadas buscan el grano robado, pero las personas justas lo producen ellas mismas.
13 By the transgression of the lips, is the wicked man, ensnared, but the righteous, cometh out of distress.
Los malvados quedan atrapados por sus propias palabras pecaminosas, pero las personas que hacen el bien se libran de los problemas.
14 Of the fruit of a man’s mouth, shall he be satisfied with good, and, the dealing of the hands of a son of earth, shall be paid back to him.
Tus palabras te traerán recompensa, y tu trabajo regresará a bendecirte.
15 The way of the foolish, is right in his own eyes, but, he that hearkeneth to counsel, is wise.
Los necios creen que van por el camino correcto, pero si eres sabio escucharás el consejo.
16 A foolish man, on the [same] day, letteth his vexation be known, but, he that concealeth an affront, is prudent.
Los necios se enojan con facilidad; pero si eres prudente, ignorarás los insultos.
17 He that whispereth faithfulness, declareth righteousness, but, a false witness, is a fraud.
Quien dice la verdad es honesto, pero un testigo falso dirá mentiras.
18 There is who babbleth, as with thrusts of a sword, but, the tongue of the wise, hath healing.
Las palabras apresuradas pueden ser tan cortantes como un cuchillo, pero las palabras de los sabios traen sanidad.
19 A lip that is faithful, shall be firm to futurity, but, only for a twinkling, is the tongue that is false.
Las palabras de verdad duran para siempre, pero las mentiras se olvidan pronto.
20 Deceit, is in the heart of contrivers of mischief, but, to the counsellors of peace, shall be joy.
En la mente de los que maquinan maldad solo hay engaño; pero los que piensan en hacer el bien viven con alegría.
21 Unseemly to the righteous, is any trouble, but, the lawless, are full of misfortune.
A los que hacen el bien no les pasara ningún mal, pero los malvados están llenos de problemas.
22 An abomination to Yahweh, are lips that are false, but, he that dealeth faithfully, is his delight.
El Señor aborrece a los mentirosos, pero se alegra con los fieles.
23 A prudent man, concealeth knowledge, but, the heart of dullards, proclaimeth folly.
Si eres prudente, no presumes de tu conocimiento; pero los tontos anuncian su estupidez.
24 The hand of the diligent, shall bear rule, but, the indolent, shall come under tribute.
El trabajo duro aporta liderazgo, pero la pereza trae esclavitud.
25 When anxiety is in the heart of a man, one may bow him down, but, a good word, maketh him glad.
Si vives con ansiedad, te sentirás sobrecargado; pero una palabra de aliento te reconfortará.
26 The righteous man guideth his neighbour, but, the way of the lawless, leadeth them astray.
Las personas que hacen el bien cuidan de sus amigos, pero la forma en que viven los malvados lleva a sus amigos a la perdición.
27 Indolence, roasteth not, his own game, but, the substance of a man, is precious, when he is diligent.
Los perezosos no atrapan su presa, pero si trabajas duro te volverás rico.
28 In the way of righteousness, is life, and, in the path thereof, immortality,
El camino de los justos lleva a la vida, nunca te conducirá a la muerte.
