< Proverbs 12 >
1 He that loveth correction, loveth knowledge, but, he that hateth reproof, is brutish.
Thuitaekhaih koeh kami loe palungha kami ah oh; toe zoehhaih hnuma kami loe amthu kami ni.
2 A good man, obtaineth favour from Yahweh, but, a man of wicked devices, will he condemn.
Kahoih kami mah loe Angraeng palung anghoesak; toe kahoih ai hmuen poek kami loe lokcaekhaih to hnu tih.
3 A son of earth, shall not be established, by lawlessness, but, the root of the righteous, shall not be disturbed.
Kahoih ai hmuen mah kami tangzun caksak ai; toe katoeng kami ih tangzun loe aphong thai mak ai.
4 A virtuous woman, is the crown of her husband, but, a veritable decay in his bones, is she that causeth shame.
Tuinuen kahoih zu loe a sava han sui lumuek ah oh; toe ahmin saesak zu loe sava ih ahuh to hmawnsak.
5 The plans of the righteous, are just, but, the counsels of the lawless, are deceitful.
Katoeng kami poekhaih loe toeng; toe kasae kaminawk ih lok loe alinghaih ah oh.
6 The words of the lawless, are—of lying in wait for blood, but, the mouth of the upright, shall deliver them.
Kasae kami ih lok loe minawk athii palonghaih to zing; toe katoeng kami ih lok loe minawk to pahlong.
7 Overthrown are the lawless and they are not, but, the house of the righteous, shall stand.
Kasae kami ih im loe amtim ueloe, anghmaa tih; toe katoeng kami ih im loe kacakah angdoe poe tih.
8 In proportion to his prudence, is a man, to be praised, but, the perverse in heart, shall be an object of contempt.
Palungha kami loe minawk mah pakoehhaih to hnuk; toe poek angkawn kami loe minawk mah hnap.
9 Better slighted, and have a servant, than to honour oneself, and come short of bread.
Angmah hoi angmah angraeng ah amkoeh, caaknaek tawn ai kami pongah loe, kami mah patoek e, caaknaek tawn toksah kami to hoih kue.
10 A righteous man, regardeth the desire of his beast, but, the compassions of the lawless, are cruel.
Katoeng kaminawk loe a pacah ih moinawk nuiah tahmenhaih to tawnh; toe hmawsaenghaih loe kasae kaminawk ih tahmenhaih sang koek ah oh.
11 He that tilleth his land, shall be filled with food, but, he that runneth after worthless men, lacketh sense.
Angmah ih lawk phrawk kami loe zok amhah tih; toe palungha ai kami loe tidoeh avang ai kami hnukah bang.
12 A lawless man craveth the prey of the wicked, but, the root of the righteous, is enduring.
Katoeng ai kami loe kasae kami ih palok to patoh han koeh; toe katoeng kami ih tangzun loe aquih tacawt.
13 By the transgression of the lips, is the wicked man, ensnared, but the righteous, cometh out of distress.
Kasae kami loe a pahni zaehaih mah dongh pongah amansak; toe kami katoeng loe raihaih thung hoiah loih.
14 Of the fruit of a man’s mouth, shall he be satisfied with good, and, the dealing of the hands of a son of earth, shall be paid back to him.
Kami loe angmah pahni athaih hoiah zok amhah tih; a ban hoi sak ih kasae kahoih hmuen baktih toengah atho doeh hnu tih.
15 The way of the foolish, is right in his own eyes, but, he that hearkeneth to counsel, is wise.
Kamthu loe a caehhaih loklam to kamsoem ah a hnuk; toe palungha kami loe minawk mah thuih ih lok to tahngaih.
16 A foolish man, on the [same] day, letteth his vexation be known, but, he that concealeth an affront, is prudent.
Kamthu loe palungphuihaih to amtuengsak roep; toe palungha kami loe azat koi hmuen to angphat.
17 He that whispereth faithfulness, declareth righteousness, but, a false witness, is a fraud.
Loktang thui kami loe toenghaih to amtuengsak; amsawnlok pongah hnukung ah angdoe kami loe alinghaih to amtuengsak.
18 There is who babbleth, as with thrusts of a sword, but, the tongue of the wise, hath healing.
Sumsen hoi thunh ih baktiah lok apae kami to oh; toe palungha kami ih palai mah loe kami ngantuisak.
19 A lip that is faithful, shall be firm to futurity, but, only for a twinkling, is the tongue that is false.
Loktang pahni loe dungzan khoek to cak; toe amsawnlok loe nawnetta ni oh.
20 Deceit, is in the heart of contrivers of mischief, but, to the counsellors of peace, shall be joy.
Kahoih ai hmuen poek kaminawk ih palung thungah alinghaih to oh; toe angdaehhaih sah kaminawk loe anghoehaih tawnh o.
21 Unseemly to the righteous, is any trouble, but, the lawless, are full of misfortune.
Katoeng kaminawk khaeah sethaih pha mak ai; toe kasae kami loe tahamsethaih hoiah koi tih.
22 An abomination to Yahweh, are lips that are false, but, he that dealeth faithfully, is his delight.
Lok amlai palai loe Angraeng mah panuet; toe toenghaih hoi khosah kaminawk loe Angraeng mah palung.
23 A prudent man, concealeth knowledge, but, the heart of dullards, proclaimeth folly.
Palungha kami loe panoekhaih to angphat; toe amthu ih palungthin mah loe amthuhaih to amtuengsak.
24 The hand of the diligent, shall bear rule, but, the indolent, shall come under tribute.
Thahoih ban mah kami to uk tih; toe thasae kami loe misong ah om tih.
25 When anxiety is in the heart of a man, one may bow him down, but, a good word, maketh him glad.
Palungsethaih mah kami palungboengsak; thapaekhaih lok mah poek nawmsak.
26 The righteous man guideth his neighbour, but, the way of the lawless, leadeth them astray.
Katoeng kami loe a imtaeng kami to loklam patuek; toe kahoih ai kami ih loklam mah nihcae to loklam anghmangsak.
27 Indolence, roasteth not, his own game, but, the substance of a man, is precious, when he is diligent.
Thasae kami loe a kah ih moi paaem han mataeng doeh paqak; thahoih kami ih tacong loe atho oh.
28 In the way of righteousness, is life, and, in the path thereof, immortality,
Toenghaih loklam ah duekhaih om ai, hinghaih ni oh.
