Proverbs 1
1 The proverbs of Solomon, son of David, King of Israel:
Provérbios de Salomão, filho de David, rei de Israel;
2 For the knowledge of wisdom and correction, for discerning the sayings of intelligence;
Para se conhecer a sabedoria e a instrução; para se entenderem as palavras da prudência;
3 For receiving the correction of prudence, righteousness and justice, and equity;
Para se receber a instrução do entendimento, a justiça, o juízo, e a equidade;
4 For giving To the simple shrewdness, To the young man, knowledge and discretion.
Para dar aos símplice prudência, e aos moços conhecimento e bom siso;
5 A wise man, will hear, and will increase learning, and a, discreet man, wise counsels, will acquire,
Para o sábio ouvir e crescer em doutrina, e o entendido adquirir sábios conselhos;
6 By gaining discernment of proverb, and satire, the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.
Para entender provérbios e a sua declaração: como também as palavras dos sábios, e as suas adivinhações.
7 The reverence of Yahweh, is the beginning of knowledge, Wisdom and correction, the foolish have despised.
O temor do Senhor é o princípio da ciência: os loucos desprezam a sabedoria e a instrução.
8 Hear, my son, the correction of thy father, and do not reject the instruction of thy mother;
Filho meu, ouve a instrução de teu pai, e não deixes a doutrina de tua mãe.
9 For, a wreath of beauty, shall they be to thy head, and chains of ornament, to thy neck.
Porque diadema de graça serão para a tua cabeça, e colares para o teu pescoço.
10 My son, if sinners entice thee, do not consent.
Filho meu, se os pecadores te atraírem com afagos, não consintas.
11 If they say—Come with us, —Let us lie in wait for blood, Let us watch in secret for him who is needlessly innocent;
Se disserem: Vem conosco; espiemos o sangue; espreitemos o inocente sem razão;
12 Let us engulf them, like hades, alive, While in health, like them who are going down to the pit; (Sheol h7585)
Traguemo-los vivos, como a sepultura; e inteiros, como os que descem à cova; (Sheol h7585)
13 All costly substance, shall we find, We shall fill our houses with spoil;
Acharemos toda a sorte de fazenda preciosa; encheremos as nossas casas de despojos;
14 Thy lot, shalt thou cast into our midst, One purse, shall there be, for us all.
Lança a tua sorte entre nós; teremos todos uma só bolsa.
15 My son, do not walk in the way with them, Withhold thy foot from their path.
Filho meu, não te ponhas a caminho com eles: desvia o pé das suas veredas;
16 For, their feet, to mischief, do run, and haste to the shedding of blood.
Porque os seus pés correm para o mal, e se apressam a derramar sangue.
17 Surely, in vain, is spread the net, in the sight of aught that hath wings!
Na verdade debalde se estende a rede perante os olhos de toda a sorte de aves.
18 Yet, they, for their own blood, lie in wait, They watch in secret for their own life.
E estes armam ciladas contra o seu próprio sangue; e as suas próprias vidas espreitam.
19 Such are the ways of every one that graspeth with greed, The life of the owners thereof, it taketh away!
Assim são as veredas de todo aquele que usa de avareza: ela prenderá a alma de seus amos.
20 Wisdom, in the open place, soundeth forth, in the broadways, she raiseth her voice;
A suprema sabedoria altamente clama de fora: pelas ruas levanta a sua voz.
21 At the head of bustling streets, she crieth aloud, —at the openings of the gates in the city—her sayings, she doth utter: —
Nas encruzilhadas, em que há tumultos, clama: às entradas das portas, na cidade profere as suas palavras.
22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and, scoffers, in scoffing, delight them? and, dullards, hate knowledge?
Até quando, ó símplices, amareis a simplicidade? e vós, escarnecedores, desejareis o escarneio? e vós, loucos, aborrecereis o conhecimento?
23 Will ye turn, at my reproof? Lo! I will pour out to you my spirit, I will make known my words to you.
Tornai-vos à minha repreensão: eis que abundantemente vos derramarei de meu espírito e vos farei saber as minhas palavras.
24 Because I called, and ye refused, I stretched out my hand, and no one regarded;
Porquanto clamei, e vós recusastes; estendi a minha mão, e não houve quem desse atenção;
25 But ye dismissed all my counsel, and, to my rebuke, would not yield,
Mas rejeitastes todo o meu conselho, e não quizestes a minha repreensão.
26 I also, at your calamity, will laugh, I will mock, when cometh your dread;
Também eu me rirei na vossa perdição, e zombarei, vindo o vosso temor;
27 When cometh as a crashing your dread, and, your calamity, as a storm-wind, overtaketh, when there come upon you, distress and anguish.
Vindo como a assolação o vosso temor, e vindo a vossa perdição como uma tormenta, sobrevindo-vos aperto e angústia.
28 Then, will they call me, but I will not answer, they will seek me diligently, but shall not find me.
Então a mim clamarão, porém eu não responderei; de madrugada me buscarão, porém não me acharão.
29 Because they hated knowledge, and, the reverence of Yahweh, did not choose;
Porquanto aborreceram o conhecimento; e não elegeram o temor do Senhor;
30 Consented not to my counsel, disdained all my rebuke,
Não consentiram ao meu conselho e desprezaram toda a minha repreensão.
31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and, with their own counsels, be filled.
Assim que comerão do fruto do seu caminho, e fartar-se-ão dos seus próprios conselhos.
32 For, the turning away of the simple, will slay them, —and, the carelessness of dullards, will destroy them.
Porque o desvio dos símplices os matará, e a prosperidade dos loucos os destruirá.
33 Whereas, he that hearkeneth unto me, shall dwell safely, and be at rest, without dread of misfortune.
Porém o que me der ouvidos habitará seguramente, e estará descançado do temor do mal
